The same feeling as you, but because I live in North America we never got the Golf GTE here. I got the next best thing - the Audi A3 Sportback e-tron.
I've had a mk 7 R for 15 months only done 5000 miles in this time so don't get the opportunity with only working 4 miles from home and thinking of trading it in fir the gte don't even think I'd use much fuel commuting. Stage 1 looks a good option
Changing the oil once 15 thousand km is a very bad idea for this engine because it works under a very heavy load (~150hp from such a small engine). This engine requires an oil change every 7-8.000 km so that it can drive more than 100-150 thousand kilometers without problems
Everything is true, best daily! Fairly cheap practical with enough trunk spacevespecially with seats turned down,fast enough, comfy yet sporty. What else would you need?
I really laugh when ppl moan about start stop in the Golf. When I kicks in, sometimes it helps me cause I know that the cars ahead are about to pull off. For some reason, cause the radar is so low it picks up cars moving two cars I front and the engine kicks in. Or better yet, if you're moaning so much, look ahead and tap the throttle, and it'll turn the engine on. Stop start actually saves you fuel in the long run.
Does the electric driving mode still work when you remap your GTE?, does it affect the electric range?,
What kind of movie are you getting on average and whats the best you have got on a long run?
The only issue I have with a hybrid like this is, a cold engine / oil when I actually wanna push it (since it drives electric below 50km/h AFAIK)

Nice, ik heb 2 jaar geleden een facelift gte (2017) mede gekocht vanwege het digitale dash ,maar ook door berichten over problemen met de eerste gte s op social media,Maar zo te horen heb jij geen problemen met je gte.Ik trouwens ook niet ,ben ook bij vag geweest voor de tuning en het is de perfecte auto voor mij wanneer je idd veel korte ritjes maakt en snel maar voordelig auto wil rijden.Mijn verbruik was 1,8/100 de laatste 3000km!!. De Beste wensen voor 2021 en ik kijk uit naar de next gte video!.Keep up the good work!.

Very nice indepth video. Planning to get 1 next month 2017 MK7.5. Only thing im concerned about is 2 people told me the turbo requires a change after roughly 30-60k mileage. Have u faced any similar problem?
Hee man! Ik heb zelf een golf 7 1.4 ACT waar ik heel tevreden over ben. Heb ook gekeken naar de GTE alleen hoorde toch veel geluiden over problemen met de GTE. Heb je zelf in de tijd dat je hem bezit ooit problemen gehad? Ik bedoel dan meer het elektrische gedeelte :)

Ik vroeg me wel af. Wat zijn je gedachte over de van de wegenbelasting voor plug ins in 2022 of 2023. De subsidie die er nu op zit zodat het voordelig is, gaat dan eerst voor een deel weg en valt daarna helemaal weg. Dit in combinatie met dat een plug in vaak aan de zwaardere kant is, maakt het toch iets om over af te wegen. Wat denk jij hier over?
