Thanks for watching, if its helps I've ran this type of intake on various F56 and R56's since at least 2019 and before that with an AEM intake which are a similar design without issue in the UK which is very rainy. This isnt the only car that has this type of intake design and have been for however long without issue. I had an AEM intake like this on my R55 back in 2012, again used that for years with no issue and so have many others
Nope seen problem say this all the time, it just doesn’t happen, same with the AEM intake on the r56. It’s a horizontal opening so you would have to have a hose pipe pointed horizontally to even get enough water in to make any sort of issue
Great instructional video! I have a Cravenspeed cold air intake on my F56 but have been thinking about the Eventuri as well. It's nice to know there is a cheaper option. Have you noticed a difference in performance with yours?
It makes some lovely noises that’s for sure. I always struggle to notice performance changes for things like this that don’t add massive chunks of hp. I know people say things like picks up quicker etc but how much of that is because they want to justify the spend. Yes it will have some performance benefits as per many Dyno charts I’ve seen and as a package with a remap/intercooler/Downpipe it’s going to make a difference
Probably a stupid question but new to modding my f50 mini....I've bought a cone ram air filter and plan to do away with the air box completely but will be wanting to add a bonnet vent directly above and before the filter to max the air intake to the filter but and this is where I might seem thick what about when it's raining and your traveling at speed? Doesn't it shoot rain straight into the filter and into the engine? I will also be adding a vent to the left side of the bonnet to allow for faster heat release but obviously any rain will simply turn to steam. The different vents on either side will look uncemetrical but I think that will look pretty cool.
I've seen a few of these second hand for sale, was always tempted but they always have issues with the carbon scoops lacquer peeling or the parts are badly scratched up. How did you come across this one? What about the MMR or Forge intake pipes, would you recommend them or are they a waste of money?
Hi, Did you have any problems after installing and using it? style engine light too much air fault etc?? I don't really want to do a repro on the car. I had this problem on my BMW after several months of using the eventuri I had the engine fault and engine light. I then took it off…😢
I'm confused. Do you have a custom grille here? The center piece isn't usually a honeycomb it's like a solid black bumper guard. Yours looks like it has the GP3 grille except it's not.
Be interesting to know the weight difference. I think I have seen a video of Petrol Ped once which suggested the carbon version was actually heavier than the plastic one (which would mean the plastic version gives you a better power to weight ratio)
I would imagine the that is the case however the weight difference would be so minimal that what the driver had for breakfast that day may be more of a difference
@@tweedbean for sure hahahah…. But hey… in the realm of deminishing returns… paying ‘up’ for more weight seems odd. Carbon is (as you know) used in racing to replace parts normally made from heavier materials due to its strength to weight ratio. It should not be used to replace lower weight materials unless you don’t care for performance and are only going for looks.
Great video! I am planning to have this intake. But I have a question for pre facelift and facelift, could you mind to tell what is the difference between pre-facelift and facelift?
Do you really think a ram air inlet helps with a turbocharged car ?! The standard inlet pulls the air from the pressure area in front of the main cooler - right ?

Hey I installed the plastic eventuri intake on my 2023 jcw countryman and I have the check engine light. Should I be concerned? I'm scare for my brand new car is this ok
That front piece doesn't appear to integrate very well with the the filter housing. No satisfying snap to let you know it's sealed. It doesn't look like the seal is complete.
Hi it can’t all be one piece as the engine is designed to move on its mounts yet the front duct piece has to be fixed to the body of the car. If they were joined it would snap. No issues with intake temps so does the job
Water and rain doesn’t get in. You don’t get much horizontal rain. The OEM system sucks air from behind the grill and people don’t worry about rain with that
Personally I am over the whole carbon fiber look. That plastic option is fine, And if you want it to look pretty. Get a color matched engine paint and start painting the plastic bits to match the color of the car. Looks pretty and different from everyone else.
Surprised see the smaller filter housing and the air going round dozens of bends… yes their is a ram air effect, but honestly show us the figures in terms of horsepower…
100% get the strength/lightness benefits of carbon but I was saying there must be very little difference in weight between the two intakes. So if you don’t care about looks under bonnet I can’t see why you would go for carbon 👍🏼
@@tweedbeanwell most of the „tuning“ seen here on RUclips is just visual improvements anyway… I whave done some cosmetic dechroming and a forge short shifter… will look into a big brake kit, but here in germany there are quite severe TÜV /MOT limitations in place.
Give it time and you'll realise the poor quality once it has been warm a few times but even now the badge isn't pressed in properly on yours and when they come out its a whole. 😂 they aren't worth the money. I'd also watch for the cotton that seals the top air holes for the scoop to come unstitched. I've mentioned these things to evolve, and he said we know, and that was that. I'm not one to complain either, but the price doesn't match the quality.
Which badge are you referring too? Will have to wait and see with mine as didn’t have any issues with my previous one and not seen the issues you mention above with my current one yet.
You need to do a video 1 year later of how to clean the Eventuri filter on your Mini, and show how you do it?
Thank you :)
Looks good, but I'm still not convinced regarding the danger of water ingress. Good video and nice work by the way and very infromative.

There is a little hole at lowest point before filter to evacuate any water.
Nicely done - great video - excellent tips and like your attention to detail....that's awesome 🙂
No problem thanks for watching
good video, but what happens when it rains? Where does all that water that sucks up the intake go? maybe straight to the engine?
Nope seen problem say this all the time, it just doesn’t happen, same with the AEM intake on the r56. It’s a horizontal opening so you would have to have a hose pipe pointed horizontally to even get enough water in to make any sort of issue

No rain issues but if you are worried I’ve seen breathable filter bags which stop water on other applications however it’s not a problem on these

Never tried the intake pipe. Lacquer peel is easily fixed by a good body shop or even get it colour coded

The best intake+6-7hp. I had my in mini jcw clubman 2021

In terms of the eventuri intake I am not aware, Eventuri or any supplier like Orranje will be able to confirm the difference

The difference is a socket of MAF Sensor only
can recommend what brand you install the wastegate, i love it sexy sound

We have a lot of rain in the um and never had a problem. Rainfalls down not horizontal so minimal gets in just like on the stock intake

Carbonfibre originally is strength hence the possibility to manufacture of a lighter part withstanding all the forces . The looks side is BS anyway…
