Evening Peter I am so happy with my Caliper key Fob not so keen on the grenade design keep it JCW. I used your link below and found an outlet in Glasgow who stock Eventuri intakes. Hi Pete Nice bit of kit mate you are slowly getting there with that car 🚙 It will be Worth it’s weight in gold when you come to sell it one day 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Well it certainly looks nicely made and you can feel and hear that it works. I’m not too convinced about the effects of rain and water because if the air flow is slow enough to allow water to drip down to a drain/vent then when you are driving normally, surely the water would remain held in the higher speed air flow...it would not have time to “drip” so get taken into the filter. Maybe we need to see the water path in more detail? Good work as always...stay safe!!! 😀😀😀😀
@@PetrolPed That’s good....I don’t think rain will be any problem but a deep puddle or flood might be different?? Good luck and I’m glad it works well!! 😀😀😀

Evening Pete, 🤯 I'm confused, my birthday is Monday 12th October, not Monday 13th lol. According to my birth certificate I'm going to be 56 , but I'm sure I'm still 16 mentally 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Love the carbon induction set up on Charley, hate to think what it would cost 😬. I'm just using my original R53 intake mated to Airtec Intercooler but with all original plastic baffling removed, so direct feed 😁 to Intercooler. The ITG filter I fitted is rather sweet too 👍. You need to get rid of your plastic engine cover and get a carbon one now 😉. Take care mate 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🏁
Cold air is already there, KN filter ,remove the air con pump with a shorter belt ,full flow exhaust = way more power and change in ya pocket, no good putting loads of air in if it can't get out as exhaust, it's the same as standard just better looking ?
I purchased the plastic version of this for my Clubman and they haven’t bothered with the adjustment to the size of the opening, so if you considering the same thing either go for the carbon version as per this video or purchase a different kit.
Great video Ped, as always. I don't like the MINI, or even fancy carbon fibre stuff, but I do really enjoy your content, so thank you matey ! Edit to add, I do like that M5, now THAT's my kinda car sir :-)
Hi everyone 👍 we would presume the Clubman would be a slightly wider bonnet than the GP3, but strange the scoop is in a slightly different place. Looks a great mod and we love a bit of induction noise
Wow great looking air intake. I guess you'd need to check with your Insurance company and maybe warranty as well. Well done Pete keep them coming cheers DFDU 😎

Looking at the design of that duct I would’ve thought you’d have the air coming in from the bottom fighting with the air coming in from the top , swirling around at the front of the intake and making the whole system less efficient?
Morning pal. I thought the forced air ducts didn’t work too well unless doing over a hundred? They were a show carry over from racing cars? I can see it’s a more direct feed though, which is always better. Nice lil mod.
Well it does look amazing that's for sure. I always have thought though that intake changes like this on their own, adda such little performance. It's only when you start messing around with other stuff that the engine then needs all that extra/smoother air. but it does looks bloody amazing.
Very interesting, this would give you about 15 hp more, how much is the gain from the exhaust you have on there now? The intake seems easier and maybe cheaper to do?? Do they deliver abroad ?
If you stop the active sucking of air in through the original duct… aren’t you massively decreasing the ability of the radiator to cool the engine? That seems like a big risk. Looks cool though!
Evening all. Ped I would be really interested to know what the performance gains are for this, I saw a youtube video when Evolve first developed this last year, but the gains on their Cooper S mule was only about 8 horsepower and the cost of about 1400 quid, a year ago, seemed out of proportion to the gains. Yes it looks great, and I love the idea of actually putting the bonnet scoop to use, but maaan that is too expensive! I wonder if Evolve would just make a plastic version for those of us who don't pop the bonnet at every opportunity?
ok, I've also seen & had quite alot of communications from Evolve along with another commentator... The simplest way of thinking is you'd be best off buying a stock performance panel filter & have a engine tune &/or a induction kit with a tune... With the car model being turbo it'll gain performance due to a limited "learning function on most ECU's to this date!" however further performance gains will be found via a tune.. without going overboard.. if you had supporting modifications you'd see much further performance values... for those worried about heat soak, well Carbon fibre isn't a good insulator & it will heat up just as any cheap plastic item would, unfortunately it'll also be very hot to touch especially after a long/spirited run-out.. regarding water-ingress to the filter/engine this point was made to Evolve & ignored to a dissatisfied audience, now we see a drain hole (uncovered) if you think of science etc you'll be aware of water being driven via airflow/vacuum & yes this would also occur here.. only during idle would water not get pulled into the filter via the bonnet scoop (this can be demonstrated via a simple experiment.. ride a bike (at speed) & pour water from a bottle in-front of yourself.. you become wet) now think of driving in a rain shower &/or behind another vehicle producing water spray (the filter element will become soaked) adding to that flies/stones & yes they can reach such a filter element (think back to K&N with their typhoon filter & yes I tinkered with such a filter & a direct flow/snorkel on my RX-8, such issues as water, stones, flies etc were a problem until suitable shielding had been added... if you've a mini you can find modifications to aid the bonnet vent to flow, you can buy filter elements & dyno-tuning is available all-over the country giving better performance gains & you can also add-in fuel economy at a cheaper cost.
@@jogonbeaky No problem.. as a side note the listed performance gains are tiny in comparison to 80-90's turbo charged vehicles, this is simply due to emissions tuning & the limits ECU's have been given in modern vehicles, hence why the self learning capabilities have been limited compared to earlier manufactured vehicles.. Also noting this filter element is cotton (identically to the K&N typhoon element & design) of which have poor filtration compared to other element material types. buying a replacement performance panel filter & having a engine tune works out cheaper & would produce more power/economy.. in regards of the BMW.. their alot more to that story then a basic air-filter replacement etc
Nice vid! Would be interesting to hear more of the intake sound as it seems inside the car the jcw exhaust kind of overrides the noise of the intake.. Does it change the sound of your JCW when the engine runs but car is parked? I got the jcw countryman 18' (225hp) and I think I am a bit dubious with the word "power" they are using honestly
As I have a Remus Race Exhaust that kinda dominates the sound. The induction noise is a little better but for me this mod is all about the throttle response. The car is so much more responsive 👍
Goodness I love these clever and innovative guys. This was really good content. Question: can we get them on SAGE? They couldn't do worse than that committee and we might end up wearing really special carbon fibre face coverings😂😂😂
Very cool mod Sir Pete! Always look forward to your videos! Hey Sir Pete would u be able to review the Kia Forte GT 2021 or the Kia stinger 2021 GT-line?
Petrol Ped Hello, yes I am working all weekend, but I’m covering a different event on the national circuit. All the best for this weekend if I don’t see you again!
Did installing the intake set off any codes or dash lights? A customer had a 2020 F54 JCW in the dealership last week and it apparently had this issue with the Eventuri intake...I don't think he had a tune and perhaps the F54 JCW needed one in this case?
Hi there !! So, let us know, what the Eventuri worth the price sound and performance wise ? And by the way, how muchc did it cost in total ? Thanks a lot for the answers :-) GoF
I'd like one for the B48 engine in my 2016 230i but I think it's too small a market for them to develop one. Although they did one for the preceding 228i N20 engine. Anyhow I would not be able to afford one currently.
Weirdly, your video is recommended to me today. But have to say, nice video! But I would do a bit of fact check as I happen to know your car isn’t the first car to fit Evolve’s Eventuri kit. And the fact Evolve didn’t even make the kit to fit Clubman, another company helped them developed it and fitted first production Eventuri kit to their test car, that’s as far as I can tell, as I’ve been following the Eventuri induction kit development for a long time to get my JCW fitted with one.
Sorry mate but you are wrong. My car was the first F54 306PS car fitted...FACT. The two guys in the video designed it and make it...they should know 🤷♂️
@@PetrolPed I could be wrong. But I have my source to suggest otherwise. But anyway... I did enjoy your video touring around Evolve workshop. Keep safe 👍🏼
My friend's cooper S just got the same kit a couple months ago. Drove fast in a heavy rain. Engine light has been on for a while. Thought water went in. He hasn't brought the car in for a check and it is still driving. Anyone has had this issue?
@@noseyparker6622 Been discussed at length on Mini forums. Doesn't appear to be an issue: www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/f55-f56-hatch-talk-2014/334044-eventuri-intake-functional-hood-scoop-review.html
Eventuri has also had issues with some F54 JCW's triggering CEL's due to the intake. Eventuri is exploring the issue as it might be the way the MAF sensor housing is machined.
I have a doubt...(Yes you were one of the influences for me to buy a Clubman here in Portugal. Bought it in August...and I'm very happy with my decision).... As you said they modified the sealing rings on the carbon duct to fit the clubman. Does that mean that all the parts are going to be like this now? If I order the kit now, will it have the modified sealing rings? Cheers
Fabulous engineering but I’m assuming very expensive as no price on their website. Shame they don’t offer a simpler plastic version for in the engine bay as I’m sure the carbon fibre is purely aesthetic but hugely expensive. For me the carbon fibre or even a gloss black plastic bonnet vent and a plastic intake system under the bonnet.
Brilliant video, also learnt something new about air flow. This is definitely my next upgrade to Scarlet. Aka @reddevil_f56 loving the content great stuff.

It is not a moving part and if anything makes the engine and turbo work more efficiently. They could be dicks about it if they wanted. Enjoy the new car 👍

regarding water-ingress to the filter/engine this point was made to Evolve & ignored to a dissatisfied audience, now we see a drain hole (uncovered) if you think of science etc you'll be aware of water being driven via airflow/vacuum & yes this would also occur here.. only during idle would water not get pulled into the filter via the bonnet scoop (this can be demonstrated via a simple experiment.. ride a bike (at speed) & pour water from a bottle in-front of yourself.. you become wet) now think of driving in a rain shower &/or behind another vehicle producing water spray (the filter element will become soaked) adding to that flies/stones & yes they can reach such a filter element (think back to K&N with their typhoon filter & yes I tinkered with such a filter & a direct flow/snorkel on my RX-8, such issues as water, stones, flies etc were a problem until suitable shielding had been added...
if you've a mini you can find modifications to aid the bonnet vent to flow, you can buy filter elements & dyno-tuning is available all-over the country giving better performance gains & you can also add-in fuel economy at a cheaper cost.
Mal P nice explanation of concerns, thanks
One day you'll pull that pin just for a bit of fun only to hear "BANG!"
😂😂😂
Got it thanks! I’ve ordered one so now we ‘ll see soon! 🙂 love your jcw btw 👏🏻
Goodness I love these clever and innovative guys. This was really good content. Question: can we get them on SAGE? They couldn't do worse than that committee and we might end up wearing really special carbon fibre face coverings😂😂😂
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Very cool mod Sir Pete! Always look forward to your videos! Hey Sir Pete would u be able to review the Kia Forte GT 2021 or the Kia stinger 2021 GT-line?
I’ve done the Stinger before. Not sure about the other one 🤔
Good to meet you today at Silverstone main gate!! Mini sounded epic
Oh hi mate. Great to meet you too. You working over the weekend ? If so I might see you again 👍
No warnings or problems at all 👍
@@PetrolPed Thank you sir, that is great to hear. I am sure I will pull the trigger soon enough...that is a beautiful piece of kit.
Hi there !! So, let us know, what the Eventuri worth the price sound and performance wise ? And by the way, how muchc did it cost in total ? Thanks a lot for the answers :-) GoF
Awesome looking carbon fiber, air intake,,wonder how much extra hp your getting, are you going on rolling road,
Hey stay safe, have a good weekend,
The guys got 12-15 on their GP 👍
I'd like one for the B48 engine in my 2016 230i but I think it's too small a market for them to develop one. Although they did one for the preceding 228i N20 engine. Anyhow I would not be able to afford one currently.
I'd prefer a black plastic one also, carbon bling would look massively out of place on my car and I'd like it to look as close as possible to OEM.
Artwork and a weight reduction to boot!!
Yep 👍
Whats the part number of this kit? The one they sent me, doesnt fit this nice. Think i got the wrong one, but it says for mine? 🤷♂️
Have you contacted Eventuri ?
@@PetrolPed Yes, waiting to hear back from them?
The two guys in the video designed it and make it...they should know 🤷♂️
@@PetrolPed
I could be wrong. But I have my source to suggest otherwise. But anyway...
I did enjoy your video touring around Evolve workshop.
Keep safe
👍🏼
Is this Eventuri only for the JCW or can it be used on the S also?
This is just for the 306hp engined JCW 😢
My friend's cooper S just got the same kit a couple months ago. Drove fast in a heavy rain. Engine light has been on for a while. Thought water went in. He hasn't brought the car in for a check and it is still driving. Anyone has had this issue?
Nobody thought about that little problem did they? I can imagine the water pissing into that scoop on the bonnet.
Cheers
Simple answer. Yes 👍
The F54 duct will now have the bigger vent holes 👍
Glad I helped ‘influence’ you by the way 😜👍
Does that modification affect the warranty?
It shouldn’t do as it’s only making the turbo more efficient. I had warranty work done on my car after I had this fitted 👍
Why would anyone assume the Hatch and Clubman shared the same bonnet ????
Why wouldn’t you 🤷♂️
Fabulous engineering but I’m assuming very expensive as no price on their website. Shame they don’t offer a simpler plastic version for in the engine bay as I’m sure the carbon fibre is purely aesthetic but hugely expensive. For me the carbon fibre or even a gloss black plastic bonnet vent and a plastic intake system under the bonnet.
Hi petrol ped, I know it's totally random but where did you get that Mini Cooper LEGO from?
Mini gave it to me 👍
Just Google Mini JCW Champions Series
Petrol Ped thanks mate
It must be taking more dust & dirt in the intake after this mod. Doesn’t it hurt your engine in the long run?
Best regards, Morten Berg from Denmark.
That is what the filter is for 👍
Brilliant video, also learnt something new about air flow. This is definitely my next upgrade to Scarlet. Aka @reddevil_f56 loving the content great stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
@@PetrolPed it was really useful to under the technical side of things. Although it looks bloody epic even if it didn't work. Piece of Art 🙂
@@PetrolPed As they say in life if you don't ask you dont get. So hear goes I don't suppose you have discount code for Evolve, currently saving up for the intake. Many Thanks Dan
Hi, I like your chanel, I’m a MINImaniac Fan. I want to ask you if you install an Intake you loose your warranty? Its a new MINI. Thank u for your videos =)
You are only improving airflow and not changing the engine in anyway. Always best to check with the main dealer and inform your insurance company 👍
Map next Pete.......
🤔😂
Good evening. Does this create issues with your warranty? I have just placed an order for a JCW Clubman, all your fault! Cheers
Chris Cummins I was wondering the same enjoy the new Clubman
Was wondering the same thing, too! And also congrats on your order! I'm right behind you, ordering mine next month - all because of Pete! (Dude needs some commission love from Mini, I would say)
The usual rules apply... they have to prove that your induction system was a contributory factor in any failure you're claiming for.
In reality though (rightly or wrongly), the burden will lie with you to prove it wasn't contributory...!
It is not a moving part and if anything makes the engine and turbo work more efficiently. They could be dicks about it if they wanted. Enjoy the new car 👍
I order 1 it take 4month to get it ps.thailand
