JOE BONAMASSA PLAED THAT GUITAR IN OMAHA, NE. MAY 2016. WE HAD FOURTH ROW CENTER SEATS AND TOOK MUCH VIDEO OF JOE PLAYING "TREASURE". EXCELLENT SHOW AND SOUND. QUICKWATER.
I had an early 60s firebird with P90s in it. It had a great tone to it, very articulate and the neck felt great. The only thing was I felt the neck was too heavy for the body or the ballance felt off
That is a awsome guitar. Joe plays it with Eric Johnson in a video where they do a couple of Clapton Cream era songs and it sounds like Claptons tone at that time.
Wow!! I Really Love Gibson Firebird Guitars Alot!! I Just Bought Me A 2016 Gibson Firedbird T Guitar In Brown Sunburst From Guitar Center About A Week Ago!! One Awesome Guitar!! I Also Own A 2006 Red Epiphone Firebird Vll Guitar With Vibro Lyre Tailpiece W/ All Gold Hardware!! I Got That Guitar From A Pawnshop Many Years Ago For A Steal At $369.!! - Big Will :)
Wow! I thought I saw a capo on the 2nd fret. Don’t let anyone ever give you a hard time again about using a capo. If they do, just show them this video. There are lots of valid musical reasons for going with one. If it’s good enough for one of the greatest guitar players of all time, it’s good enough for the rest of us!
Perhaps the missing neck Pick Up makes so much difference? Means a lot oft wood saved in an important piece oft the body between the neck and the Rest of this beautiful guitar
I had a 63 firebird one I got in a trade in the late 70s. No nicks into the wood….almost perfect. I got short of cash in the early 80s and sold it for $400. Biggest regret of my life. Would love to just be able to play another one. FB I typically had the wrap bridge/tailpiece not a trem
jesus ...you should look at how many people bitch about his playing , voice , , talent..$$$ !! lets let the man live..im all for his success..seems a decent man..!!
Dam, I went to his web site and looked at maybe getting a firebird and all sold out. He probably bought them all himself. 😉. They do look sweet though.
lovesgibson I'm sure near a hundred if not near 200. Not to mention the upper half of his collection is comprised of highly sought after vintage guitars. The cumulative value which is probably in the millions. Plus all the vintage amps, effects pedals, odds and ends all combined must be a cumulative value in a couple million. The only sad thing about that, like a vintage car museum, when you put what are irreplaceable original pieces all in one area, if something tragic were to happen such as a fire. We'd lose not one 59 Les Paul but a few. (Like the Nashville flood) I'm sure JB has one hell of an insurance policy. I'm sure his collection might be valued at more than his music...not to knock him. You have to remember that a lot of the gear he had were gifts or on some sort of "permanent loan". So he didn't have to buy them. Although many pieces he did.
Vintage is not appreciated as those that are aware of truly fine craftsmanship; I'll wager the comment about kermits voice came from an air~guitarist. With all due respect
Sorry but I dont think Joe should be singing "Im just a poor man, working day by day" If someone has enough money for a 59 Les Paul standard and a room of vintage fender amps you are not a poor man. Granted buying a 59 LP can make you poor but WTF?
When you write the blues you aren't just speaking for yourself, you're speaking for all the people that have the blues inside them. And some of those people are just poor men working day by day."
He seems like a good guy, but I simply can't get into his music. To me, it just sounds like very generic blues, with overly "busy" guitar playing that is designed to be more showy than enjoyable.
I need one . please make more of these

What a great story in today's world of "me me" people. Good Karma. It's always a treat to watch Joe play!
I had my 63 firebird stolen from my west london flat in 1976 . Went out and found a 63 SG junior to replace it... a sad day though
Phil Ram sorry man feel for you, having an instrument stolen is a bad feeling, i know
Me too..sad
Just got a FB V. I had a 1 in college and lost it. Now I get to enjoy my new Bird from Sweetwater.
Love the reverse headstock. It's a beautiful guitar. It's one of my dream guitars!!!
What a great guitar
Thank you Joe!!!
So glad I had the pleasure to be there when you "loaned" treasure to Joe.
oh wow, it's DAN! you're the man! your generosity is so cool!
I just used a replacement bridge, the second one since 1963!
How's the Epi, Dan??
JB is total class
im more of an acoustic guy myself, but i just love hearing guitar stories and their history lol
I wish epiphone would reissue this firebird again!
By the way Joe, I was born in 1963 so that guitar would mean more to me than I can put in words! Where can I get one?
Ready to rock out!

Awesome back story
Never thought much about the Firebird... until I saw Joe play one.
He's 1 LUCKY bastard!
Treasure is Awesome!! love her!

Great video..got to love those Vintage Firebirds. that TONE
Cool guitar and that’s one of my favorite songs !
He has a firebird 3 in the video not a firebird 1
@@Honkbs The guitar in the music video has 2 pickups. The one he is holding in the interview has 1 pickup.
You just got to love it!
Mike hickey absolute legend! played with mighty VENOM!
Beautiful Axe Joe!
Soon, he will possess every guitar ever made.
And then he will rule THE WORLD,,,
That's a very nice axe Joe, and I want one!!
Perhaps the missing neck Pick Up makes so much difference? Means a lot oft wood saved in an important piece oft the body between the neck and the Rest of this beautiful guitar
so cool
Nice. I'd buy one but I gave up my GAS addiction years ago though.

how that guitar whas a gift by a fan
thats a tresure word up
“And this is my original 1963 Firebird I” (cuts to him not playing a Firebird I)
It sounds genuinely sexy.
THANKS Bona bro.Yours.sub number 222
Hey Joe, feel free to send me any guitars that you want to be played and to have a new life.
Dam, I went to his web site and looked at maybe getting a firebird and all sold out. He probably bought them all himself. 😉. They do look sweet though.
o melhor
Love that CD by Joe....playing all the hits from his last movie....Chongahahahaha
How many guitars does this man own
lovesgibson

Would have been nice if he actually played the Epiphone in the video.
Sybex7254 there's a separate video
Calefonia

wow..hopefully it's under $500..if it's epiphone it should be
Haha agreed...lol

He's got like 8 59's...
So I wouldnt exactly put him in the poor man department then
maybe the song made sense back in 1959 when a poor man working day by day could buy a Les Paul lol, back when there was a middle class in the US
When you write the blues you aren't just speaking for yourself, you're speaking for all the people that have the blues inside them. And some of those people are just poor men working day by day."
Honestly I'm not sure he should be singing at all . . .
Am I the only one who thinks his voice sounds like Kermit the Frog?
RastaSaiyaman he needed to smoke more
Nice guitar. Good story too. But wth, joe is goin gray....
Not the same guitar as in the video
'Play it in good health' is such a nonsensical phrase. Really grates on my nerves every time I hear it.
First!!
No lefty's as usual
What's the point of putting the fire bird logo on? Still an awesome looking guitar though
thats a corporate logo.. everything has one stamped on it.. they'll stamp one on your butt if they owned you ;-)
i have decided to publicly burn my gibson flying v ff 1982
Sorry, but that tune is some phoney bs.
Joe is just tasteless...unless your into boring structured blues
He seems like a good guy, but I simply can't get into his music. To me, it just sounds like very generic blues, with overly "busy" guitar playing that is designed to be more showy than enjoyable.
Such an ugly guitar
