- Manny’s Cafeteria & Delicatessen is a Jewish deli in Chicago’s South Loop famous for its corned beef sandwiches. The deli is known for its Jewish food, including pastrami, latkes, and matzo ball soup. Founded more than 75 years ago, Manny’s has been passed down through four generations of the Raskin family, which continues to own and operate it. Pre-COVID, Manny’s would go through about 1,000 pounds of corned beef a day. It’s frequented often by celebrities and politicians, with President Barack Obama, President Bill Clinton, and Mayor Lori Lightfoot all having made multiple visits.

Best thing is to remove most of the meat and eat it as a normal sandwich. Take the leftovers home and eat it for breakfast with skillet potatoes

Good to see that quality delis still exist. They were quite common back in the 60's and 70's throughout the country. Miss them so much. Hard to find good corn beef and fresh rye bread. Manny's looks incredible. I'm envious. 😟

I love Manny's! I try to do my best to support it when I go into the city during Covid since they are an amazing restaurant with down to earth people.
This is by far my favourite sandwich ever especially when the corned beef is grounded with Russian dressing, cole slaw and pickles with the right rye bread. "Scrumptious."
That is a huge sandwich! Happy to see that the place is thriving during the pandemic.
Oh they did very well. Never closed and didn't let anyone go! It is a family run businiess and they are so nice in there it is awesome!
Though I live on the South Side of Oklahoma City I was born at Loyola University Hospital and spent 10 years living in Chicago where to this day most of my relatives remain. Manny’s corned beef is hands down THE GREATEST I’ve tasted in my LIFETIME and is a “must eat” for anyone traveling to The Windy City. Brisket done a whole different way then the wonderful BBQ we have down here and Manny’s does NOT disappoint

Trust me, you'll know raw when you see it.

i make good matza ball from a mix have to split balls to cook inside 2 eggs and oli per packet add carrots non sa;t broth or from a bbq chicken leftover and bolied

I love how the ENTIRE community showed up to support Manny’s; and refused to let them go under. i wish they had an Atlanta location- oh and the man that has been working there 38 yrs seems to love what he does and is good at it.
In ashamed to say I live maybe a two hour drive south of Chicago and have been there maybe 5 times lol I gotta visit this beautiful city more often one day I'm gonna go after saving a bunch of money and stay for like two weeks and try a new restaurant each day I'm there Manny's will be one of them!

Love good corned beef! Was at Katz's for the first time fall of 2019 and found that theirs just wasn't quite as good as the old Carnegie Deli (heartbroken that they're gone!). Never been to Manny's. Will have to make a point of going when next in Chicago.

you can struggle as a business, it doesn't mean they're closing. They can cut their deficit by harsh measures and sadly the easiest thing to do is firing some of their staff. Thats why they needed help.

Manny's Restaurant has been a Chicago Food Institution for decades. If you desire authentic Deli Sandwiches, visit this historic establishment. I live in North Texas and cannot find any worthwhile Delicatessens that would rival Chicago! I know excellent food.

I had a corned beef sandwich from Manny's a few months ago. Man was I disappointed. My sandwich did not have anywhere near that amount of meat and the bread was tiny. The meat was dry, I felt ripped off. It had been at least twenty years since Ihad been to Manny's. If may be another twenty years before go back. Was not worth the trip.

I worked out of Chicago,( I'm from Kentucky) when I think of my fave foods there , it is Jewish Deli's with corn beef or pastrami, deep dish pizza, steak houses, hot dogs, Italian beef( Al's) & a weird concoction at a place called Grinders where they make an upside pizza in a bowl like a pot pie & then serve it right side up, never seen it anywhere else but delicious
