Any Italian seasoning meat rub will do if you don’t want to break out all the spices. Basics really. johnnys beef is different from the rest 😳
Especially Johnny Sins 😉
How could they not cover their Italian Ice ? That’s just as iconic as their beefs
that's what I remember when we found this place on an area visit. The Lemon icees. We were driving by - saw the packed parking and the line out front - my car hit the brakes!
That's a sandwich after my heart, what a heaven
Best Italian Beef in Chicago hands down. I grew up 1 block from here. My blood type is au jus.
Owner: *Goes home after a hard work*
Host: *Comes out of the toilet* So I'm not rude, but what's in the secret recipe?
I am so happy I didn't make a complete dork out of myself 🤣🤣 . Thanks Food Insider & Johnnies Beef!

This girl is surprised he works hard everyday and holds a family secret close to his heart. Honor, loyalty and trust. Lacking in people more and more
I was born in Chicago but moved when young but went back to visit family. I just remember everyone being into sports.
italian beef and pepsi :D
OMGoodness !!! THERE IS NOTHING IN THE WORLD LIKE A JOHNNIE'S COMBO !!! This is a contender for "Death Row Dinner" and should be on The Whole World's Bucket List for places to eat a combo before you die !!! The menu is super short and the patron lines go around the building. I have done the 62 mile round trip to treat family and friends to Chicago's greatest tasting beef and sausage sandwich. Throw in a homemade Italian ice and a tamale... and drift away to a state of blissfulness !!!
Great segment and am jealous 500 miles away, however, two items were omitted from the review, the beef and sausage combo, not only is the beef world class, but the sausage is unbelievable!!! Second the Italian Ice!!! This is a must and goes hand in hand with every sandwich!! Johnnies is the best ever!
First date here i got the Italian ice ans beef never forget it
Any Italian seasoning meat rub will do if you don’t want to break out all the spices. Basics really. Salt, blk pepper, oregano, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, a few bay leaves. In Chicago, most places also add garlic juice. Not sure how popular it is to be find everywhere though.
I had this sandwhich about 2 years ago now, and if i could go back to chicago just for this beef sandwhich, i 100% would

italian beef and PEPSI
I had an Italian 🇮🇹 Beef 🥩 sandwich 🥪 a couple of years ago at my aunt's wedding down in Kentucky. Definitely a classic and great sandwich.
We had a day they fed us hot beef sandwiches at work during employee appreciation week. One of the guys had been to Chicago, and I had seen the double dip on Man vs Food. Added the peppers and it was the best sandwich ever.
