I was worried this might be too derivative, glad to hear I was wrong. When it gets out of early access I'll try it
I mean it does borrow an awful lot from and feel a lot like the source material. I don't know what started this period of devs imitating successful games. I think it might have started with the slew of soulsborne esque games. But I don't like it. Most of the time, they feel like cheap imitations.
I’ve never played it but would give it a chance. It’s definitely inspired by SOC though.

Played for about an hour (1 boss in), and so far exploration/survival is really satisfying, but the combat is vastly meh. Hope they take the time to tweak it. And the atmosphere is A+ of course.
whats so satisfying about exploring a white plain with nothing in it?

Is it multiplayer?
Does it need to be? Aside from it being very clearly single player, with no mention of MP... why do we need to shoehorn MP into every title? you got plenty of options for that on the market, so just let these solo journeys be.
Color Bars yeah but my friend and I like these kinds of games yet they’re all single player so we don’t get to experience the things happening together that’s why I’m asking
Looks good but not overly keen on the player animation...looks very twitchy...I do like the Zelda, Shadow of Colossus influences... but sems to have a bit more to it than just the Giants. Will see what the reviews are like... yeah ... I really don't like those fast twitchy player character animations especially the spinning scene at the end...that looked awful.. That would defiantely put me off. The rest looks pretty nice though and seen some promising stuff. Maybe needs a bit more work. Nice looking game though... sort the main player animations and it's a definate buy from me.
im just gonna say....breath of the wild wasnt the first game to have a glider.

SoTC ran at 17 fps on the PS2, 30 fps is totally playable.

i tried this game now. and i wanted to like it. but Im not liking it. not because the mechanics were off or it would play bad. thats all good enough. but its just boring. the bosses are just a thing you got to climb and the gigantic map is empty. theres nothing to discover, nothing to see and nothing to do.
theres no reason to kill those bosses, hell, why are you even on the island? theres no story in this game and no motivation. at least none in the start. you dont have to kill those creatures, why would you? just walk away, and youre fine. live and let live.
I'm assuming you didn't care for, or play shadow of the colossus then? Lop cause that's kinda how that game was and it was great.
