How did this game get so over looked? This game is flawless. It has the puzzles of Trine, with the combat of hollow knight and the level design of ori and the blind forest. WIth a brand new fresh setting for under 30$ Really great experience, charming and funny. Loved it.

I just got it for 8$. Had never heard of it before just browsing psn and the name caught my eye. Looking fwd to it.

The Games Industry (in general) was born & raised on the foundation of the 8Bit & 16Bit Console's & their range of side scrollers & beat'm ups & it's great to see New one's being developed & released on as many formats as possible...
For me the side scrolling games took a graphical jump with the birth of the Oddworld Franchise of game's & although the graphics for then looked brilliant the, so called, simple premise of the first 2 Game's with Abe as the Modokun Protagonist who realises He or She (let's not be sexist) had to Free as many of his fellow Modokun's as possible as they didn't know they were basically food fodder & that simple gameplay was in fact not as easy as it sounded... But that was the nature of those game's back then & you were not going to proceed further within those game's unless you kept going back & putting the hours in by re-doing it all over again from the very start...
Most of those game's sounded so simple but I swear the amount of gamer's who lost it with this game (including me) & many other side scrolling game's, but we still couldn't put game's like these one's down & we willingly went back for more punishment until we figured out how to complete any given level on these side scrolling game's & the worse one's, at times, could be the side scrolling shooters like R-Type/Darius/Cult Classic Defender/Thunder Force & many more...
I hope we see more horizontal or vertical old style games given a fresh lick of paint (graphics wise) & released, as apart from the Arcades this is where modern gaming started & has grown into the behemoth Game's Industry that it is today...
There were so many side scrolling greats that were eventually developed for the Home Console's use rather than in the Arcades like, Cool Spot/James Pond/Boogerman A Pick & Flick Adventure/Sonic/Mario/Donkey Kong the 16Bit Version's/Contra & so many more that if i wrote everyone of them in this comment I'd be typing for hour's...
It's great to see those type of game's given a modern day graphical upgrade & one that sticks out that was released on the Last Gen Console's (which thankfully you can get for Current Gen Console's) is " Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams " This is a must buy if you have the side scrolling itch that needs to be scratched...
" Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams " easily rivals " Unruly Heroes " for it's beautiful graphics along with " Max The Cursed Brotherhood " & even though these games look amazing, don't be fooled by their sweet graphics, as these game's still kept that hard core sense of Gaming Difficulty & the only difference with the 8Bit & 16Bit Game's (apart from graphically upgraded) is the Ongoing Sense Of Difficulty & the fact that you couldn't " Save The Game Progress " at any given point heightened the tension to complete each level, but If You Were Lucky some game's gave you a code to type in that would start you from where you left off...
" Unruly Heroes " does look stunning & has that core of difficulty about it, & if you haven't guessed already " I bought it " & since its not a humongous file size it won't take long to download the Digital Version along with the other digital downloadable game I bought which is the Real Time Isometric RPG " Shadows: Awakening "
I do not know if my comment has helped or put you off this type of game but as a Long Time Avid Gamer (I think) we need to play as many styles & genre's of game's as possible, instead of sticking with what i tend to see so much of in todays gaming & that is FPS Online Game's in one form or another & as much as I enjoy the latter there are other great game's out there that Do Not Require An Internet Connection or an Online Subscribtion to play & enjoy Alone Or With Friend's ...

If you're a fan of the Trine series, New Super Mario Bros, or Ori games, you'll enjoy this game.

I don’t really enjoy platformers but always thought they were cool, but I’m also a huge Wukong fan so yeah sold me and the game is pretty sick.
I love your format of 2 minutes. Typically, I am deciding whether to buy a humble bundle (which has 10 or more games to check on) or which game to download on Xbox game pass (which uploads 4 to 6 at a time) and I don't want 15 minutes of review. Typically, I would skip to the end of the 15 minute review for their rating and move on. However, I'll sit for your 2 minutes review. Well done.

Help me out man. I can't get past the Rhino in one of the early levels. It's hella difficult.
Jonathan Ober don’t forget that you can evade/dash through enemies by tapping R. It comes in handy when the Rhino charges at you.
@@mercutiolavantine5584 dodging seems to work some of the time. Some characters (and sorry I don't know all their names) but the female in white seems to not be as great at dodging. I seriously get the Rhino down to 1/3 or 1/4 left health and then because theres not health regeneration during the battle except the one jar I just die and die again.
Jonathan Ober you can also try to double jump over him but it needs a really good timing
@@mercutiolavantine5584 I was finally able to beat him and after a long fought battle beat the woman with the white face and black hair at the end of that first world. This game is really hard and barely leaves room for mistakes. Not sure if I will be able to complete the full game.
Jonathan Ober the game is indeed really hard. I’m playing with my boyfriend and we’re doing pretty well so far but I’m not sure I’d have gone this far the by myself :/

I got a free sub to Game Pass with my new xbox & Im a mythology buff so I love "Journey to the West" and this caught my eye there and I was floored. Its so much fun and so gorgeous and will rank as one of my favorite side-scrollers of all time.

Underrated masterpiece
For those who likes challenge, play UNRULY HEROES. Not suitable for those who gets angry very easily or have high blood pressure.

Yes, it's a looker and sounder but mechanically sound? We must be playing a different game. It's been clunky and at worst infuriating and cheap. The puzzles barely ever qualify as puzzles even, they're more like an obvious and linear list of things to do.

I don't think you were nearly critical enough. As a massive fan of the TV series Monkey and that is the target audience and for better customer satisfaction it is always best to try to stay as true as possible to the source material. This game is not true to that much at all. Also outside of the characters special moves which also I believe could fit the characters much better. Sandy and Pigsy have weapons in "Monkey" pigsy the muck rake and Sandy has a crescent moon bladed staff with a wide shovel type blade on the other side. Sandy is a water spirit, they could have done something cool with that. Lastly in general combat two of the characters play practically identically. Money and Sandy play the same and Pigsy and Tripitaka also play the same. Thats just plain lazy and uninspiring. I've been actually quite disappointed by it so far.
It is very polished and well presented though, there's no doubt about that.
