Excellent presentation and sound advice! The boat is clearly superlative for piking but I suppose I'm not at too much of a disadvantage with a small displacement hull, my mariner 3.5hp and humminbird helix 10, given the 5mph speed limit in the broads - and 4mph on rivers!

A tip from me is to pop up your deadbaits... I believe you get a much more positive take, the pike isn't faffing around trying to pick up the bait out of what might be a very weedy bottom... I'd love to have a boat... most of my fishing is bank fishing on lakes using the delks, at 64y.o. I enjoy this not so active way of fishing... 🙄😅
    My PB is 28lbs...
    A sub & a like from me, sir... 🤗

Get a mash dwarf 3lb test curve or similar carp rod and a standard shimano baitrunner, they’re cheap and absolutely bulletproof.
