15lb mono, what happens if you end up snagged? Mono breaks and you risk leaving a baited pair of trebles behind for a pike to take. It's gotta be strong braid so you can straighten the hooks if you need to. Especially round norwich there's loads of crap in the water

Excellent presentation and sound advice! The boat is clearly superlative for piking but I suppose I'm not at too much of a disadvantage with a small displacement hull, my mariner 3.5hp and humminbird helix 10, given the 5mph speed limit in the broads - and 4mph on rivers!

A tip from me is to pop up your deadbaits... I believe you get a much more positive take, the pike isn't faffing around trying to pick up the bait out of what might be a very weedy bottom... I'd love to have a boat... most of my fishing is bank fishing on lakes using the delks, at 64y.o. I enjoy this not so active way of fishing... 🙄😅 My PB is 28lbs...
