Some nice fish on that second venue, good bit of water for pike through there. I fished the boat yard opposite you with my son last winter, i was actually looking for some perch, got a nice 7-8lb pike on a micro lure. Poor guy sitting in his boat had been there with live baits for hours without a touch!
Jeez I miss pike fishing so much, it is very odd though as I have fished massive pits and lakes all over the country and actually world, currently loving my carp fishing In Germany, but my biggest pike of 34lb 12oz came from the smallest and crappiest looking farm field dyke you have ever seen in Kent Uk, I mean it was 4 feet deep max and was just nothing to look at and ignored by almost all anglers but yet I had so many big pike, 3lb plus perch and even an 8lb tench from it. Just goes to show anybody who has not access to lakes of this size and so on, I bet you have waters near you that youd never think held nice fish but do. Great video, pike where im at is hard going, most lakes are closed for divers and so on, things are different here with rules and a lot of other things but I hope when my carp side calms down (not any time soon I think lol) to head out and seek some pike action again Good upload!
Many thanks, and a very interesting story.. I’m sure there maybe a few hidden gems near to where I am living by the Norfolk Broads.. I’ve been lucky to have 3x 30lb pike, but have to travel to Bristol every autumn to achieving this.. Otters have decimated a good number of fish over the last few years, but there’s been the odd whopper coming out over the last couple of winters, so hopefully there is a bit of light at the end of the tunnel 🤞🏼
I though no-one ate Pike till I went to stay with friends in a small rural village in the South of France! They fished for them in a couple of local ponds nearby. They make excellent eating as long as you now how to fillet them and remove of the bones before cooking.
Have been fishing for Pike for fifty years now and in the early days my dad, a keen Piker used to bring one Pike a season to eat, I never liked it and even now blindfolded I could pick out raw pike as it has a very distinctive smell, did very well fishing for Wels catfish using Pike fillets!
FISHING NORTH WALES thank you for liking the video, to be honest I don’t really do any lure fishing myself, and wouldn’t be much help.. if you’re on Facebook then there is a group called Norfolk Pike Fishing, I’m sure people would be able to guide you in the right direction 👍🏼🎣
