2:44:31 DAMNATIO MEMORIAE. It translates to condemnation of memory, which was a punishment where all records or evidence of your existence were destroyed. Essentially, it means to remove someone from history. It was the ultimate punishment of the time. Of course, it's impossible to tell if it was ever used successfully because if we knew about it, then it wasn't successful. Another fun fact is that being completely forgotten by the entire world is considered in many cultures to be like a "Second death" which is another term this game throws around.
Fun fact : The Second Death is also mentioned loads in the Bible, though it's commonly correlated to the End of Times, basically the Antichrist, which was what Gary was trying to achieve with the Unholy Trinity.
For those who want to understand what happens in the bad ending: John gives up and becomes what the Book of Revelations calls a "lukewarm", and loses his soul as a result. He is wiped from existence as both God and the Devil find him unforgivable, making it so it was as if he never existed, hence the name of the ending Damnatio Memorae, which means "Condemnation of Memory".
This stream was quite fun, and had many funny moments, thanks as always Fauna!

@@sadpee7710 That I can’t explain very well. It’s more that John was condemned I think, might’ve typed it wrong.
@@sadpee7710 Because he's weak and cowardly. He didn't stand up for his beliefs, he fled from everything he claimed was precious to him, he barely even tried to protect himself. Even when he was confronted with people that wanted to kill him, his only questions were "Why me? What did I do?" He wasn't strong enough to defeat Gary, nor was he strong enough to be a host for the UNSPEAKABLE. He's useless to both sides.
@@NemoVonFish in my mind that means he's sinful and has weak mental fortitude, making him easy to possess and like hell wants bad people don't they?
@@sadpee7710 In the game it seems they don't want just anyone, they want a powerful vessel for the UNSPEAKABLE. John, if he's made it all the way to Gary in game three has proven himself strong enough to be a host. If you lose in the Rain of Spiders fight where you crawl for your crucifix, that's what happens - the UNSPEAKABLE possesses you.

Churchgirl Fauna at the start is something I didn't know I needed in my life until now. Great trilogy and its great to see you having played and enjoyed them!
2:52:00 That kalimba part was so relaxing, before I had realized it my eyes were closed and rolled up ready to pass out, I had sat down and almost slept right away. It was so incredibly soothing
You finished it! And you finally solved the mystery of GARY LOVES YOU (he doesn't)!
In the ending, you DO have a history with Lisa. During John's drug trip, one of the first scenes is a nun in front of a church. In the church you can see two children silhouettes, a blue and yellow one. Later during the same trip, you can see both silhouettes holding hands. Also, from chapter 2, they mention that 2 of the kids from the church survived the experience.
Also, the door you open in the bad ending is there because, after the end of chapter 1, John DOES recover Amy, and has kept her body there under lock. It's why he gets the nightmares.
Congrats on getting all the endings, Fauna! What a bro-like ending for the true end!

I don't know if this is true but i heard that some of faith is based on the dungeons and dragons satanic scare, and thats one of the reasons the bad guy is gary after Gary Gygax, one of the creators of dungeons and dragons
It is based off of the satanic scare, but I never made the connection between Gary Gygax and Gary Miller. I just thought the devs chose Gary because it was the most "normalest" name they could think.
Nice stream and gaming as always. And another game beaten (again). The Epic of Gary (Not) Loving You finally comes to a close. Still a super fun game to play with a great atmosphere and music I would unironically put in my shuffle list. Incredibly glad you enjoyed it too. Sounds like we have a lot of games to look forward for future streams, pretty hyped for that.

Also I could totally see a Warlock with a pact with Lolth, the evil goddess of the Drow, given her relation to spiders. Oh and your appearance during Bae's GOI stream last night had me laughing to learn that community does reflect the streamer really holds true at times: I too hoard tabs.

I'm glad you got the true ending! The rejected vessel's music was intense, and the Gary reveal was heartbreaking but even with that, getting the bro end with Garcia makes it all worth it The bad end hits pretty hard too. The hopelessness of it all is palpable

Man, the part in the building with demons had a lot more crazy stuff than expected. All those hidden stuff and bosses were crazy. Thank you for going back to this game and showing all of it to us! Both true and bad ending were really climatic.

I really loved the Tiffany fight and the bad ending, but the bro ending is the true ending, Father Garcia best girl (Also I'm excited about 3D home exercise stream!)
Came home to see Fauna's yandere eyes staring into my soul, a blessed day. It was sweet to see the rest of FAITH today, it's such a cool game! I'm a sucker for this kind of horror atmosphere, I love the pixel/atari aesthetic! To be honest though, there's a lot of details in the lore that I missed, so it's primetime to watch some lore videos on YT! Garcia Route is clearly the True End, best boy.
P.S. It would be sweet to see you play some Touhou or other bullet hell games someday, I'm a big fan, but they're hard as nails, might induce too much fauna rage , haha.

If you're looking for a game in a...slightly sorta-kinda similar vein, I kept thinking you'd really like Signalis, it's a top down Resident Evil style survival horror game but with lots of mind-bending psychological stuff in a sci-fi setting. And lots of notes to read to give you a break from being scared! Thinking about it, it feels kinda like Soma in some ways too!

The boss fights in this game are so well done, I can see how they try doing some patterns and throwing a few switches up in to make the fight even more interesting.
Despite the frustration this game gave you sometimes, I'm glad to see you gradually getting better and beating every boss you fought!
And of course, Father Garcia coming in clutches and blasting Gary with his shotgun is the best thing in the game.
Choosing the bro code and going on the journey with him is the real true end after all
