You are one of the VERY few people who actually take the shielding off to show us the IC's
Subscribed just for that alone
Thanks :)
Appreciate this boss. My power button is very sticky and my screen is cracked. Just fixed my disk drive in my Xbox and a dpad on a controller. I think I got this
You're welcome
I successfully used this video to repair a damaged phone. The only thing I have to point out is that the screws in the two phones I had, both donor and recipient, were T5 instead of T6.
Hi. Sometimes the brand of tool set tend to fit differently
Can this screen be found on Amazon and how do I know I’m ordering the write screen ?
Im going to replace the battery and was wondering if I TRULY have to use replacement adhesive when i put in the new battery or can i just stick it in without it?
You can just re use the old adhesive tape from the battery, should hold it in place. Without any adhesive, the battery would bounce around and cause noise and possibly damage to the battery.
I have a few scratches on my screen but they have light scratches. I don't know if they have touchscreen scratch remover. Maybe I should I should get a replacement touchscreen.
Usually if you place a glass screen protector over the screen it covers most light scratches and they don't show anymore.
Wow. Thanks.
THX for the video PBK. I just got one and have a knack to open any and all electronic items for curiosity and your video certainly helps me in that pursuit. Heck I am gonna open my phone and put it back together just like you WHY ? because I can. Take care.
haha you're welcome! Enjoy! :)
Same-same here. I've been taking things apart for about 70 years, just to see what made them tick or to attempt to repair. Sometimes it means machining a small part for a $4 kitchen gizmo of my wife's, sometimes doing a board level repair on a computer board, whatever. Thing I don't like about these phones since the G4 Play and Plus is not being able to take the battery out without an amount of unnecessary messing around so, even if one disables "location", they always know where you are.
@@ffellini you are my man. I just opened a glass back samsung s10e for curiosity and cracked the thin glass. Ok only $10 to replace to solve mty curiosity and learn. Pbk sir take care and stay healthy.
agreed. no reason is needed!
I like how they say the battery is not removable when it clearly is, I already found replacements for it too. If it was soldered in then that statement would make more sense.
Yup, they basically mean most people without the tools and knowledge on taking the phone apart wont be able to do it. Maybe they should word it differently. However there are also many people who comment from time to time and say how is this considered replaceable on some videos so I guess they should write "battery replaceable by professional" or something :)
You know where I can find a screen replacement
They purposely made it harder to remove batteries after the Edward Snowden situation. Kinda strange. Almost like all the conspiracy theories about government spy ops were true
Plz plz let me know where u found replacement battery for the moto pure G. After I sent my phone in to get the broken screen replaced my battery dies when the damn phone is on 90percent charged. Then reads zero charge.
@@williamross6693 Go to the dumpster behind any metro PCS and dig till you find one
The screen will not work is the phone no good now? No cracks nothing just won't let me use the touch screen 😕 any advice
Ithe tip of the earphone cord broke off into the jack, sub-surface, ofcourse. Any suggestions for a forced DYI'r? Shops r only accesible by postal carrier. This has been an absolutely rugged, capable phone. With ample , beyond ample, features, especially for the small cost! I do not understand why some folks are talking trash on it...Anyway thank you for the very informative video. All that one has to do is stop and listen and SO much more can be gleened from your instruction. Folks dont hear anything other than what they want to hear, these days. They treat everything else as noise; heck, they dont even give it that much attention... Thanks again for your great video(s)!
thankyou man
You're welcome :)
I see. Mtk 6762V with samsung rom & lot of thermal paste... Hmm clever technology motorola. Thanks PBK.
You're welcome :)
Yo you just teleported past the part where you removed and instructed how to remove the hardware chip and processor shields!
Also, once shields are removed, is it possible to remove the processor, memory, etc chips from one pure board and migrate them over to a new or different pure board?
Hi, I don't show it since no one would generally be removing those. The chips are soldered to the main board and are not user replaceable.
@@PBKreviews Awesome man thanks for the reply!
I am aware the these components are indeed soldered to the main board. That being said, I am also quite proficient with a soldering iron and generally know what I'm doing in that department. Of course anything I may do from the point on would be 100% @ my own risk and at the fault of absolutely no one but myself....
Now then & with that being said, may I pose the same question to you again and might there be a variation to you previous answer?
Again, thanks very much!
Yeah, if you have the skills and the tools, you can de solder the chips and replace them. But just basic soldering skills wont cut it. You would need to reball the solder points on the main board before re soldering the replacement chip etc. As for the shield covers on the board, if they are removable (some aren't which would require de soldering the shield cover from the board), they have small clips around the base of it which you can use a thin razor blade or thin flat head to gently lift up and pop them off the base to release it.

?
I replaced the screen with housing attached, but every time I put the back cover back on phone dies, when I remove the back cover it comes back on and works fine. Any idea???
Hi, you probably have a short somewhere (part of the board or chip somewhere that is touching the metal frame that's not suppose to be). Which back cover are you referring to? the back plate or the covers over the motherboard and sub board.
What size screw/screwdriver are these?
T6 (torx 6)
Bro do you think you could make a video about disassembling the Celero5G+ ?
Hi, I don't think I will be doing that model since its not something many people would watch so wouldn't be worth the time/money and effort.
Accidentally punctured the battery trying to remove it. That battery adhesive is pretty damn strong.
yeah, try using isopropyl alcohol, and apply some to the sides of the battery n let it sit for 30 seconds to a minute so it eats away at the adhesive underneath, making it easier to pry it off. I mention it in videos now which have batteries without pull tabs or pouches. Back then I didn't use isopropyl alcohol either but it makes a big difference :)
I just spent hours (days if you count waiting for glue to try) replacing a screen on my Motorola. I tested it before putting the back back on, and it worked. Now with the back on it doesn't! *Cry*
I hold the power button down for ages and all it does is give me a weird vibration, nothing. I had to take the back off, again, and in doing so I found the coax cable disconnected. I don't know HOW but I reconnected it and it still won't start. (Would a coax cable even cause it to not start??) Everything else looks connected as I left it.
Can you help at all? I will love you forever.
Hi, no I don't think a coaxial cable would cause an issue like that. However in most cases this is caused by a short. Something is touching something that it shouldn't. When you remove the back, does it start working again? also try taking the motherboard and parts out again and re-assemble to make sure all is in correctly and see if it will work. Oh and one more thing. If the screen worked prior to you adhering it to the frame, and after you adhered it was when it stopped working, then the issue is on the back of the screen where the resistors and control chips are. Sometimes on aftermarket or replacement screens, they don't cover those chips with the protective film which prevents them from making contact with the frame and causing shorts. So you would need to use some sort of teflon or insulation tape/film or some sort of painters tape basically anything on that portion of the frame or screen where the resistors and chips are to prevent them from making direct contact with the metal frame and causing a short. Hope this helps. If you need a follow up reply, send a new comment instead of a reply to this comment so I would see the notification and get back to you.
Well, there is some good information here, just not how to remove the screen. How to disconnect it, not how to remove it.
Hi, I say step by step what you need to do @4:21 in the video. Once its all disconnected, all that is left is to heat up the old screen and pry the screen off from the frame. Its only held down with adhesive so you just pull it off, nothing else to explain or show on that. I don't pull it off myself because there is a chance of damaging a working screen.
Nice
Thank you :)
What liquid do you put on the battery to remove it?
Hola Jose, utiliza alcohol isopropilico
What size screw driver to remove the charging port
T6 or Torx 6
How can I replace the screen, when I purchase the replacement without a frame?
you would need to take it apart like shown in the video, then when its taken apart, you can heat up the screen and pry it off the frame, apply new adhesive and then re apply the new screen back to the frame and re assemble the phone. You can check on mobiledefenders.com to see if they carry the parts and replacement adhesive for this phone.
🥰 It is For the phone.
I got the phone last month, and it already stopped working. Refuses to turn on, I tried multiple chargers, and no vibrate to indicate that it's charging. So, I assume the battery is dead. I guess I'll have to look into a replacement. I guess I need to look up a replacement battery.
You can find the replacement parts for this phone at this website, they have the original replacement parts but not the battery for some reason: www.mobiledefenders.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?cat=31&q=moto+g+pure there is also this website which says they have the battery but never bought from them before so not sure how reliable they are: www.pc-laptop.co/motorola-battery-NT40-p183516.htm
Yeah these phones are shit. I just bought one and now have to look up videos on how to remove the battery because it constantly freezes up on me and there's nothing I can do outside of battery removal
Where do you get that from that piece
My impression was a hardware store, paint scraper.
Will I lose my text messages and missed phone calls by doing this
I have another Moto G phone and only want the memory card to put in the replacement phone so I retain all my info . I missed this in the video .
I thought this phone had removable battery smh does any new phone have that feature anymore?
I mean technically they all are removable, just not easily like before. But for ones that are not adhered to the phone, you would probably need to look for the rugged devices like the Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro.
I like this phone way better than an iPod. It's way cheaper too.
lol nice! i cant even get the back to come off sooooo
Apply more heat and it should make it a bit easier. :)
Hello everyone two days ago I dropped my phone I tried to open the back of the case but it wouldn't budge I was trying to take the battery off that copper that was connected to the back piece broke oh I did a boo boo but then I found some copper wire connected it with some electrical tape. And put the SIM card back in and my phone is working great I can't afford to get a new one
Oh a plastic pry tool!! I got 50 of those on hand!!!
These things can handle being dropped in a lake if your quick to act but you'll get water behind the camera lense cover, if it was a Samsung it would have been toast and this thing was only 50 bucks
I'm actually watching this vid on a moto g pure
👍
Why don't you show the front screen ?
Hi, You mean prying it off? because all that is left is to heat it up and pry it off so why damage a working screen to show you how to just pull a screen off a frame. If there is something like a vapor chamber that is hidden that needs to be shown, that's a dif story. Also most screen replacement assemblies come with frame pre installed.
@@PBKreviews there could be a chamber there you never know nowadays my friend 🧐 goodnight sir and thanks for feedback 👌✨💐
Where are the edl test points for brom
not sure
Well I try to removing my battery it wouldn't budge had another phone I will just turn it over hit it on my palm of my hand and it would come out but not this one
There is adhesive holding the battery down. You would need to use isopropyl alcohol or gently heat up the screen with a hairy dryer to try n loosen up the adhesive underneath the battery to make it easier to pry off with a plastic pry tool.
Moto g PURE 2022 will NOT open or separate. Razor blades nor sharp knives will not separate the screen from the back as shown in this deceptive video. I hesitate to try a hammer and chisel!
Your method for removing the battery is risky. It would be very easy to bend the pack prying up on it, and using a metal tool is, well, just asking for it. I suggest the following: Soak the battery cavity with IPA as you do already. After a few minutes, use a brand new playing card (Poker style. I use Bicycle brand with Air-Cushion finish.) and work it under the battery, sliding and/or rocking it back and forth while applying constant pressure to slide the card farther and farther under the battery. Work both of the long sides of the battery this way, starting on the end with the screen flex, as you can ensure the card goes between the battery and the flex instead of it possibly trying to dive under the flex and damaging it. The edge of the playing card will cut the adhesive like a filet knife, and out pops the battery.
What happens if you replace the motherboard and it doesn’t come back on

Dude you only halfway disassembled it.
COULD YOU STOP AT THE BATTERY AND TELL US HOW TO REMOVE IT AND REPLACE IT? THANKS
For the battery you would need to use isopropyl alcohol and apply some around the edges of the battery and let it sit for 30 seconds so it eats away at the adhesive underneath making it easier to pry it off. You can use a plastic pry tool to gently lift the sides of the battery if needed to get more isopropyl alcohol underneath if needed. You can get the ispropyl alcohol here: www.ifixit.com/Store/Tools/iFixit-Adhesive-Remover/IF145-400?o=4
