Every time when my leave in the Marines was up and I had to get back in the plane to go back to the Marine Base in Hawaii, I would play this song as the plane would leave my home in Houston.
You mean Les Paul.lol..Steve has many more hits than Jet Airliner, and Les Paul taught him guitar as he grew up as his neighbor.. Do you like Paul Pena's rendition better?.. Is a great song..Both have epic guitar work.. My opinion it is Miller time, but understandable..lol.. Mr Pena's song..
@@aldenunion Well, since we’re comparing.. You just can’t compete with Paul Penas soulful voice. Pauls voice IS another dimension. Steve did a decent cover but that’s it.
Steve's vocals and guitar work are as smooth as they have been through the decades. Also after all these years, it's still nice to hear "all that funky shit going down in the city". Back in the day, radio used to bleep it out and sub "funky stuff" and it just never felt right. Ah, the memories...
So funny you said that! I just saw SM as an opener for The Eagles last night and they played THAT song. I made a similar comment, Remember when we would wait for that part of the song to play so Everyone in the car could Sing out, at the top of their lungs, "Funky shit going down in the city". Ah, we were such radicals back then. 😅
This from basically a great blues guitarist? Watching Steve's progress through these years is inspiring. Always hard working, one of the most entertaining acts ever to bring joy to a stage.
Ahhh....Corporate America! "Corporation Miller." A well-run and integrated outfit if ever there was one. The Space Cowboy still "does it." ("A Mother's child /A father's Son / In this crowd I'm only One"... (From "Seasons') Wow... Steve is an American Sociologist as well who "whispers Words of Epistemology.". Still a huge inspiration to me ("Don't let nobody turn you around.")
PUT YOUR GODDAM PHONES DOWN AND WATCH THE SHOW INSTEAD OF YOUR PHONE!!! You’re not going to watch your terrible recording anyway!!! *God bless Jack White: At his concerts, ALL CELL PHONES ARE CHECKED AT THE DOOR AND RETURNED UPON LEAVING. The best idea for a live concert EVER!!! He wants you to make memories of his shows with your own eyes and ears!!!
The Foo Fighter leader bloke is a rhythm guitarist, Keith Richards is mainly a rhythm guitarist, John Lennon was a rhythm guitarist and James Hetfield is a rhythm guitarist.

My absolute favorite song from Steve Miller Band. Especially the extended intro. Then I learned it's not even his song. Thank you Paul Pena!

大好きです、この曲!
I love this song !
Wow, Steve Miller always plays a Fender Stratocaster Guitar. I never viewed a music video of Steve Miller playing a Gibson Les Paul Guitar.
Les Paul was his neighbor and taught him how to play, built that guitar for him special..
Sometimes you just like a little variety.

How did this guy ever get the tag line Stevie "Guitar"Miller when he doesn't even play lead guitar in his own band?

Seriously you try and anchor the whole band singing lead while playing lead guitar
Most lead singers don’t play lead guitar!

L. Buckingham formerly of FM
Eric Clapton.....Dozens more
@@kendallevans4079 yes, I know there are some that do like Buckingham and Clapton, but there are many that don’t.
