Steve was one of those gifted individuals with the complete package, write, sing, play, compose music, and entertain, his music is all American as you can get, thank you steve.
I'm 24 years old and grew up with this CD from the Steve Miller Band as a kid - I would totally flip out with all these more like 30-50 year old people in the audience :D
It just goes to show that you are never to old to rock and roll! This band is timeless....they are middle aged, too! They have always sounded as good live as well as on a recording...who doesn't love that no matter what age?
A 70's 'Pop' staple of both A.M. & F.M. radio play.....Miller has acknowledged that elements of "Rock'n Me", particularly the intro, was a tip of the hat to the British group Free's "All Right Now".
I saw him in Honolulu last year and this man still rocks. His band is tight. he plays the songs we all want to hear and he's as good as ever! Rock-On Steve you're my hero!
Hey, Steve Thanks for this song . I have been to Phoenix Az, Panama city , Long island, Philadelphia and now to LA. Can't wait. I'm from San Diego Thanks Steve its a Classic!
STEVE HAS ALWAYS BEEN ONE OF MY FAVORITES. I REMEMBER ONE DAY AS I WAS LAYING ON THE SOFA AND HE WAS RECORDING. I SAID STEVE YOU OUGHT TO MAKE A RECORD. I WAS JUST A KID THEN, IT'S A LITTLE STRANGE TO HAVE KNOWN HIM YEARS AGO SO CLOSE TO SEE HIM SO MUCH OF A LEGEND NOW. WHAT A GUY, EVEN THOUGH HIS FAMILY WAS SUPER WEALTHY HE STILL PAID HIS DUES AND STRUGGLED SOME CLIMBING THE LATER. BUT IT'S STILL NICE TO HAVE A FEW MILLION TO RECORD IN THE NICE STUDIOS AND HIRE THE BEST ENGINEERS. GO STEVE
Very true, Metal! I saw Steve about a year ago to a packed house of about 5,000. At least half of them were in their teens or very early 20's having a great time. Great music always stands the test of time and transcends generations. Steve was amazing!!
Wide open freeway, top down, hot desert wind blowing, sun shining down, and keep on rockin' blaring with bass set on 10 while you hold the speed just below dangerous.... Heaven

I'm a huge Steve fan and only seen him once at Alpine Valley. It was in the early 90s. Loved it. Even though it was a huge show, it was still like a intimate "in your face" show. Love it!
@@tobyspeeks I was fortunate enough to see him 3 times in 18 months, last was July '90. I remember reading about the alpine valley show in the USA today entertainment section and wanting to be there so bad...
I wish I had been at this concert. Fantastic! Band was great, harmony was on the money, looked like a blast. Love the killer low B string on Billy's Lakland bass. That huge bottom end adds a dimension to the song that is simply off the chart..
recuerdo esta cancion y me evoca viejos recuerdos agradables de esa epoca del rock y me es grato constatar que esta musica sigue vigente hasta nuestros dias.
The song is a made out of 3 chords. The way they use these chords is brilliant. A good song does not have to be complex. That's the genius of steve miller if you like it or not
I have seen Steve Miller, maybe 6 or 7 times and allways try to pay extra to get up front. Steve Miller is one of those where everytime I go, someone by me is allways saying, Oh I know this one, I didnt know he did this, I love this song, he has many songs to his credit. I heard young kids, say wow, they really likes the show. Do your self a favor, see Steve Miller in concert, he has alot of good songs
I seen Steve play at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois. The bass guitar sound was in overdrive and everyone was dancing. Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead who played later that day had one opening that mocked the same power if not a little more volume. His small piece of the song That's it for the Other One. I thought Soldier Field was going to crumble to the ground. GO to Soldier field for to be overwhelmed by music.
That tambourine player is the one and only Norton Buffalo. One of the finest harmonica players I ever saw. First saw him with Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen in the 1970's then with his own band. Don't diss him, you don't know how good he is. Steve Miller should have given him some time to showcase his incredible skills on the harmonica. I'd also say the same for the keyboard player. He had a short solo set where he played some incredible stuff on the piano. Both these musicians were kept too much under the rock n' roll mantle of Miller's songs, and I believe both didn't showcase their unique talents enough.
I watched the dvd not long ago and i was thinking ,i wonder how many people know anything about his music other then the hits. I see these people in the crowd and i was thinking, Have they ever heard of Brave New World, or # 6. Or is it just the hits they know.
Imagine writing a song this cool and having everyone in the crowd smiling and dancing. Truly amazing

Here it is 2021 and this song still rocks. Steve Miller is a legend.
It is 2023 and this comment holds up
It sure does ✌🏻
Still kicking out the vocals. and even in the original Key. Great video. This simple song will still be going strong in another 50 years

One of the few (aging) rockers (and damn good blues player)... who still has his guitar chops... and his vocals are almost ageless. Wow!
A 70's 'Pop' staple of both A.M. & F.M. radio play.....Miller has acknowledged that elements of "Rock'n Me", particularly the intro, was a tip of the hat to the British group Free's "All Right Now".
Back when the audience didn't use phones; the good ol' days
As a singer and musician, the Steve Miller Band inspires me to forget about the calendar and just shove off and sing.
This crowd is having a SERIOUSLY good times. Love it
What a song, I’ve been listening to this live version so many times
