  • This is SUCH a fabulous song! Join me to learn the basic chords as well as the shuffle rhythms used throughout. We'll tackle the fancy intro bits as well. As always, we'll do a slow speed playalong at first and then a full speed playalong where I call out the chords in real time. A ton of fun!
Songsheets are always available at / guitaratwork
And.....we'll be playing along with the fabulous BEATBUDDY drum machine pedal and we'll be using the amazing AEROS Loop Studio pedal from Singular Sound. Play along with me!

Paul's primary source of income later in his later years was the royalties he got from Miller's version of this song. It helped him to care for his wife who was gravely ill. And I highly recommend people search for Paul's original version. IT ROCKS.

“Great to have that kind of detail but don’t do it at the expense of the song”. That’s great advice that i often/usually don’t follow. I seem to get bogged down on learning the riffs or trying some lead but often don’t complete the song. Should I/one play along to the song and gradually add the riffs or lead? Another great lesson by the way.

Shane, rather than talking about what you're going to talk about, just start talking about it from the beginning. If it takes more than 20 seconds to get to the point of the video, you are losing viewers. Most people just skip the long intros anyway and jump ahead to avoid the "talking about what you're going to talk about" sections. Be "ABC," Accurate, Brief, and Clear.

Wrong Johnny. But thanks for your input. I have access to the analytics in youtube for all of my videos - including view duration and you could not be more wrong.
      Best,

The thing I hate about these is that they always show you how to play the chords. It is supposed to be how to play the song. Not how to play chords. Players should already know their chords

The chords are there and so is the shuffle rhythm for those that want to do it.

I don’t know why I chuckled like a juvenile when you said “there is more than one way to finger an A”.
