    I was there and honestly majority of the crowd including myself were waiting for Kanye. After his set, I can honestly say I became a fan. Dude gets down on the guitar, never knew he could play that well.

      I love the simplicity of Keith Carlock or rather Steve Jordan in combination with Mayer, but this guy, Aaron Sterling, is skillful like hell. Especially his feeling for when what needs to be played. He knows what and what not to play at the right time, mostly.

    totally underrated guitar player... I guess he kind of deserves that title with the crappy mainstream songs he puts out. But, I would but tickets to see him live anytime in hopes that he would play something like this at least once in a live show.One of the best modern blues guitarists out there (in the generation after clapton and SRV)

    I wonder what the spilt is for his lead tone with those amps. I'm willing to bet its 75% SSS and the rest the Two Rock. Fucking great guitar sound as always.

    • @AmbientAutisticGuy
      @AmbientAutisticGuy 9 лет назад +1

      I does not work like that, the amp has a tone, and it change different guitars are plugged in to it, but mostly its the way he play and plays the guitar that gives the JM sound, give the same guitar and amp to a different person and it sounds like something else

    • @michaelcapanelli9233
      @michaelcapanelli9233 9 лет назад +8

      While that's true, you should be able to separate the tone form the amp and the tone from his hands. When I listen I can pretty much get an idea of how I'd sound on his rig. Its a given that tone is mostly in the hands but if equipment weren't a factor at all then why bother with anything but a $100 crate and a squire strat?

    • @MintStiles
      @MintStiles 9 лет назад +3

      Michael Capanelli I think it's most or even all D-style amp. Signature "honk" of D-style, smooth and fat lower-mids, honking compressed upper-mids and treble. Could even be a Fender at the end of a mid boosted chain.The Singer has a more scooped sound with a more rude and rough in-your-face kind of upper-mids and treble. His rhythm sound is more SSS I think.

    • @joshscus
      @joshscus 9 лет назад +1

      Well if you look at his setup, it's actually 2/3 Two Rock and 1/3 SSS. But his Two Rock Sigs are very close to his Dumble anyway. He has all amps clean at all times and just uses a TS-10, Klon, and a Keeley Katana for lead tones. either on their own, or all at once, or a combination of two

    • @michaelcapanelli9233
      @michaelcapanelli9233 9 лет назад

      I've never had the pleasure to hear an original SSS in person, but I have heard some rather good clones, the Two Rock JM being among them. I head Bill even used NOS parts he had amassed over the years to match what was in the original SSS he copied.
      All I know is the JM was a borderline religious experience, at least for me. I can imagine how the original must sound. I think I may have to contact Welagen and have one made someday soon.

    Hey, I didn't know Buddy Holy was still alive, dam.....Johns a great player..I often think of how great guitar players are a dime a dozen these days. But that's the way the approach to guitar playing developed partly do to Jimi Hendrix.., with a few more exceptional then others..But how dam good do you think Jimi might have gotten had he lived?.ill tell you one thing a lot of young people don't realize how good and ground breaking Jimi's playing was..take all the music away since 1970 and nobody was anywhere close to him...there is a reason why the top guitar players of today talk of him as being the best, it's because they know how good Jimi really was.....we got robbed of seeing what he may have become, certainly on the top of the heap I would say.....

    • @AlexandreTrehoux
      @AlexandreTrehoux 7 лет назад +2

      I think he sort of " half-mutes " the strings with the palm of its right hand, controls the sustain with its left hand and uses a right hand technique similar to Mark Knopfler (thumb and index+middle finger). I recall using this a lot on Dire Straits' " Money For Nothing ". Also, if i'm not mistaken, he has Texas Special pickups on neck position, making this very characteristic "round" sound.

      I don't think so. He's stays within the pentatonic blues. Although he may add jazz stuff in but I don't think so here.

    • @coffeewaldo

      It should be in Emajor pentatonic. Go to eminor pentatonic and count down 3 frets and your in Emajor.
