- I review, breakdown and explain Top Boy Season 3 (season 5). I discuss the Netflix show and the character Sully played by Kano. I take a look inside of the characters mind and react to key moments which contribute to the psychology behind the character. I look at his childhood and upbringing, the deaths that impacted him such as Dris, Dushane and Jason, and also the emotional state of the character.

I agree, when jason died, Sully just went empty, cold and heartless... He was waking up everyday ready to die and the thing is there are real sullys out there like the character 💯..... I give Sully that though, he didn't become food.. To the youngsters, Kano is a rapper first and foremost and has been for years but he's a good actor as well 👊🏾
One of the best n baddest shows to ever hit UK! All actors actresses picked sick and they all served their purpose. Kano deserves an Oscar

Jason dying took away whatever emotion sully had and ultimately lead to him dying too . Never understood why he thought dushane never respected him but I can also understand the mindset of wanting to be respected .

Dushane Neglected them two as partners and always made it about him (making it look that sully worked for dushane) which sully didnt like and he always brought it up like when he said “its always about you dushane” in the first season.

That murder he committed against Sean came back full circle in the end. Just like Sean's Mom, Tash will live the rest of her life not knowing who killed her Father or why. This is very similar to the bad ending in Mafia 3, but the bottom line being. There are no winners in the drug game. You either end up dead, imprisoned or even if you do make it out, in some way shape or form your life won't be the same again.
Its either dead, in jail or back to square one. U can never get out

For those who didn't pay attention, Sean is Kamale's cousin the first Gangster we saw Dushane and Sully Beef with from London fields. Originally they were supposed to just kidnap him to send a message to Kamale for stealing their food, but Sully hit him too hard and killed him. This was the first murder Sully and Dushane committed in the Top Boy series, and as we can see that shit came back full circle for both of them in the end.

I knew sully had to die coz of all the things he did, but he was the 1 character I wanted to see get out and be happy the most. Should have gone to Bath with Delphine 😅
I love Sully so much. Sully & Michael Corleone & Thomas Shelby is my top 3 gangsters who had many layers and they never went out looking for trouble. People provoked them 3 & then gaslight them when they would react. But Sully have a special place in my heart I just want to hug him & Jason also. Jason’s death & Driz’s betrayal really hurt Sully smh he was numbed after them things. Sully was tired in season 3 you saw it in his eyes smh he was soo hurt from the betrayals & lies. His eyes spoke almost better than Michael Corleone’s do.

One thing people never talk about is how dushane didnt really respect sully. He literally said it at the end. He referred to him as little brother. Thats not equal and respect.
In season two of summerhouse he says that his Mum was a fiend which is why he saw himself in Jason. Haven’t you not watched it?
Interestingly the old white guy sees sully on the landing of the flats and says he remembers him from when he was a kid and that he remembers sullys mum and that she was a "nice lady" he asks how she is and sully tells him she died
So sullys mum was a junkie and a nice lady ... apparently 🤔

Sully did mention once that his mother lived to get high. So i think it's a safe bet that's why he felt so attached to Jason. He saw himself
Dushane just wanted to be rich, Sully wanted companionship. Although he was evil, Sully wanted someone around him he coul trust and always be with whether that be Jason, Dushane, even when he was feeding fox it was all about bonding.
Sully couldn't bare the thought of having nobody he can trust around anymore which us why he wasn't happy about Dushane wanting to leave the street life.
Sully was still suffering from abandonment issues from his Mom.

I disagree Sully was broken. Sully was the same until the end. The only thing about the character of Sully that was inconsistent
is the writers who did not allow Sully to extract revenge for Jason like he did for anyone else

@@aishalotter9995 yes he did. in my view a beat down was not enough for the offense. An attempt on his life the lives of the family including the baby and the death of Jason. Compare what happened to Dris and Jamie, the Spanish law official.

Ok, 2 mins in and this guy clearly hasn’t done his research. Sully says in SH season 2 his mother was a junkie - that’s why he feels empathy for Jason.

Sully told Jason in season 2 that his mum was a crackhead who didn’t look after him properly and neglected him
Sully told Jason his mum was only interested in junk and having a mum like that doesn't prepare You well for Life
However sully has a scene with the old white guy from the estate old guy said he remembers sully from he was a kid and that he remembers sullys mum and that she was a nice lady he asks how she is now and sully says she died
So perhaps sully's mum was a nice lady and a junkie or maybe this is a continuity error with the script 🤔
Dushane ran everything for himself and Sully. He really thought they were brothers. Sully, on the other hand, could not accept that Dushane was gonna step down from the road and give his crown to Jaimie. So he killed Jaimie. Sully did everything for the street cred/Status. Dushane couldnt care less about that, he did it for the money. Becoming Top Boy was just the natural path in his way. Sully a snake. Cant be trusted. In the end, the streets always win. And now Si or Stef can ascend as Top Boy,

Not true. Dushane was always out for himself and always prioritised money. That is all. Countless times he fucked over Sully and others such as his own family for his personal benefit. He disrespected Sully, Dris and Jaq and ordered Sully around, making him do most of the dirty work. His nature can be seen at the end where he steals the drugs from Jaq so he can get out of the country knowing full well that will get her killed. Dushane had always only cared about himself. Sully stayed loyal to him and did a lot of bad shit and took a lot for the team until he couldn't any longer. Sully's flaw was his ruthlessness and impulsiveness. But if anyone is a snake, it's Dushane.
Dushane was about Dushane, this was portrayed multiple times. Sully was the only person who actually showed real loyalty throughout, when that loyalty was not shown to him.... well bad things happend every time.
Si and Stef are Fields tho.

Sully couldn't finish Dushane because he couldn't. It's clearly the first time he realizes what he has caused. Repeating "Get up" didn't help Dushane, he clearly regrets the action but moves on with it. Sully isn't evil, it's just the circumstances he grew up in and him not knowing any better.
Stef clocked Sully's origins and why he ended up like that, that's why he didn't shoot. He knew, as we can see with the black wind jacket and hood on he looks exactly like Sully. Once the hood comes off, he clocks the way out of the brutal cycle.
