- Warning** This video may contain spoilers of Top Boy Season 3
It's time for another upload!
Todays focus will be on the topic of leadership and I've felt pretty inspired by the new show on Netfli** called ''Top Boy''. The show has two previous seasons that are all played in the fictional estate called summerhouse.
The show has loads of different intresting characthers like Jaq, Driss and Modie but the two that I've chosen to put under a microscope glass an analyze further is Jamie & Dushane.
Both of them have really intresting background and two different types of styles in terms of leadership.
Now, I've tried to stay as neutral as possible and I've REALLY put a lot of effort in to this video so I would really appreciate if you hit the subscribe button and interact with me in the comment section down below.
My question to you is, WHO's the real ''Top Boy'' according to you, and why?
I always thought Jaime had a diplomatic approach towards his leadership style, but after watching this video, I do agree that Jaime didn't consider the wave of consequences that would come with his risky decisions. I think he invisiond his plans to have a simple outcome, which in realistic terms, couldn't be the case. Jaime's character also reminds me of Rob Stark in the Game of Thrones. He was initially depicted as an aspiring leader with great potential but failed when he didn't consider all the real possibilities of his actions, which sadly cost his life. Both Jaime and Rob Stark seemed like promising leaders, however, I think their inexperience lead them to make big moves really fast without the contemplation of the multiple outcomes and therefore, cost both of them their lives! An example of what and what not to do as an upcoming leader! Theres quite a lot of parallelism between Robb Stark and Jaime, both their deaths were unexpected and heart wrenching to the audience, and both had to step up after the death of a parent. But I believe the complimentary traits Jaime has as a leader is also rooted and influenced by how he is the guardian of his brothers. Jaime's great leadership skills were developed by his responsibilities over his brothers. But Jaime failed to see that not everyone would be as responsive to his strategies as his brothers usually are. Dushane however, is in touch with reality. He is in touch with the realities of people and life, which is why he told his cousin to hide being aware of what Sugar would do and taking in a new supplier after getting rid of Sugar, knowing that working with Sugar isn't good long term. Although Dushane is perceived negatively, his character is actually a realist and most realist are not preferred in society to begin with! But he has a balance of a visionary mind and reality, his depth of reality allows to make the harder but ultimately more successful decisions. But I do believe the anxiety of Dushane 'running out of time' in life allowed him to be a more 'me' mindset and putting aside the input and ideas of the other members in his team, and every great leader takes into consideration the suggestions of the ones they lead!
Dushane is the top boy
Interesting.. why?
excellent video, I loved the breakdown of both characters and the problems they face.
Thank you Matt! I worked really hard on this. I hope you'll enjoy the next one aswell.
@@TheLearningCurveX is there any chance you could make a video on what happened between series 2 and 3 after Dushane got pressured by the Albanians and explain what you think went down. If he took out the Albanians or got run out of england by the police etc.
@@matt-uk I'll look into it, thank you for giving me your suggestion.
These analysis video's always hit home better then boring corporate stuff. Do power next.
Thank you for the support and feedback, it's much appreciated 🙌
Need more analysis vids like this
My pleasure! They are on their way.
@@TheLearningCurveX I mean of Top Boy specifically. It would be good if you could also talk about series 1 & 2 (Channel 4 'Summerhouse') and not just the 3rd season (Netflix)
@@PR7-82 I'll definitely look into it, is there anyone in particular who you'd think would be entertaining for a lot of people to hear about?
Brilliant analysis! More please!
The problem with love over fear is that although fear is self preservation meaning that as soon as someone else scarier arrives your team will probably abandon you, Love ultimately leads to even more spiteful betrayals because if even one hit of love is removed it leads to being spiteful leading to even more vicious betrayals
Excellent take, thank you for sharing your thoughts!
The title was a little misleading but this was fantastic content.
It’s not outsmarting if you have been forced to involve police, that clearly shows that Jamie actually outsmarted Dushane causing dushane to do a taboo on the roads
It depends on if you're more concerned about following the street code or getting desired outcome you want.
The two aren't mutually exclusive, but in this case Dushane had his back turned towards the wall and picked the option of involving the police which led him to win the battle and perhaps even the war.. The latter remains to be seen!
You do know Jamie snitched on Modie
Team summerhouse
💯
You should've touched on Dushane's sociopathic characteristics
Perhaps, but it wasn't the main focus of the video and it is somewhat implied given his leadership style. But you're right, he did have some sociopathic tendencies.. but so does almost any serial-criminal out there!
Thank you for sharing!
Team A-Road, R.I.P My boi Cam, he was just leaving Gym
