toyota 5L piston ring gaps.....MIND THE GAP!

Still running through this blown up 5L toyota. the things let go on me 4 times in 5 years and ive seen that its been apart before i got lumbered with the POS.
this time it snapped a new cambelt after 2 months of running ok, i was just cruising along and it stopped.
so now im down in the block again after a quick hone to see how bad things are in there. 1 and 2 have some serious skirt seize from the big bang 4 years ago, i suspect they are the cause of the @KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK' when the engines idling.
theres some serious water damage to the bores after that episode as i had to leave it with water in it for 3 months while i went back to earn some more dollar. it had another nip up a couple of years ago after the radiator blocked up with crap and then another nip up when the top hose fell off thanks to the brainiac who put it on loose in lampang. then it blew the head gasket out in uttradit where i left it and hired a car to get to the BSBKsuperbikes.
the clegnut who bodged it back up is most likely responsible for the state its in now.
tech wise the manual says ring gap max for the 2nd ring is 0.7mm and max ring gap for the oil ring is 0.5mm.
BOTH RINGS MEASURE 1.96MM!!!
this explains where 80% of the horse powers have gone and why im putting 1ltr of oil in every 600kms. nice.
