    So, the steps are:
    1) Backup data you wish to keep, perhaps create a Windows PE file of your current drive in case it messes up later.
    2) Associate your Windows license with your MS account and/or grab your Windows key using Produkey.
    3) Use a USB Flash Drive with at least 4GB of storage on it and install the Windows Media creation tool.
    4) Go into Settings - > Update and Recovery - > Wipe all existing data.
    5) Go into BIOS and enable the USB Flash drive as boot device.
    6) Install Windows to SSD (I had to remove the HDD SATA connector from my motherboard to do this, since it refused to install windows while two drives were present.
    7) Install drivers and re enable HDD.
    8) Ensure that the SSD is the primary boot device in BIOS once install is done.

      I am having the same problem. Windows installer says that it is installing the newest updates and so on and so forth, but after the restart of the pc it just goes back to the windows 10 installer screen on the usb bootable. If I remove the usb while the pc is restarting, my mobo just says select a proper bootable disk or something like that. I really need help with this

      I just bought a 500gb SSD myself. You might have gotten it all solved now, but I spent the whole day trying to clone my old HDD onto the new SSD with no luck (tried re-cloning with multiple different programs..). Always just resulted in an "Inaccessible boot drive" error. I would definitely recommend doing a fresh install of your OS instead of trying to transfer it from your HDD. It's what I'll be doing tomorrow morning haha. GL!

      @@VictorAFP did you delete windows on your old drive? If you did, is there any proper easy way of doing it as i have not heard of such methods.

    • @VictorAFP
      @VictorAFP 5 лет назад +5

      @@mustafaibadi5632 I did indeed. Yeah the whole process is fairly straightforward. I can give a quick little summary, otherwise just message me if you have any further questions :) Here was my process: 1) Before I did anything else, I downloaded a Windows 10 Disc Image (ISO file) from Microsoft's website (www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows10) onto a USB-drive. This will be used to download Windows 10 on your new SSD or HDD. I believe you need at least 8 GB of storage on the USB-drive for this. Also, make sure the USB-drive is completely empty when you download the Windows 10 Disc Image file onto it. 2) Plug in your new SSD/HDD and the USB-drive and unplug your storage device that you're currently running your OS on. 3) Boot to BIOS and then find the option to boot to your USB-drive. This will begin the installation of Windows 10 on your new storage device. Where you find this option in your BIOS depends on your motherboard, so you may have to Google how to do so if you're not familiar. 4) Finish the more or less automated process of setting up Windows 10 on your new SSD/HDD and make sure that it is running as intended. 5) Power off your system and plug in your old drive (with your old operating system on it). 6) Boot to BIOS again and remove your old SSD/HDD from the boot-up device list. This will ensure that your computer doesn't try to boot from both drives and enable you to use your old drive purely as a storage drive. 7) Once back in Windows, you should be able to view both your new and old storage drives in your device list. Transfer any important files (pictures, documents, etc.) from your old drive to your new one. You can always transfer them back once you've wiped the old drive (to remove the OS). 8) After having transferred all your important files over to your new drive, you want to 'format' your old drive to wipe it clean. This is done through 'Disk Management', which is a standard program that you can search for on your PC. in Disk Management you simply find your old drive (make sure it's the right one), right click on it and select 'Format'. This will wipe it clean, removing Windows from it and enabling you to use it purely as a storage device. At this point you can transfer your previously transferred files back to your old 'new' storage device. Hope that helps :)
