Hey roo I just ordered all the parts for my fist pc!!! Anyways how's ur day
I was literally trying to find a tutorial on how to do this then ping it’s Roo tech
Just a note, the clone feature is behind a paywall if your disk is GPT instead of MBR. There is no work around, confirmed on their forum. So this will only work if both of your disks are MBR, so no partition over 2TB. Might be an issue for you, might not. But if by any change your disk is GPT you are stuck and this won't work for you.
W
i guess you dont have a license code for it gus i need to go from mbr to gpt cuz my hdd is mbr
Why I didnt find this tutorial on first search, this is the most starighforward and clear, not the 20 minutes talking nonsense yada yada
lmao
Did your windows stay activated after doing this
@@StuffFilmedHere yes most likeley
This is not a good process if your new disk has more space than the previous one because the cloning process will allocate the exact same amount of space as your existing disk. The other space will stay unallocated and to edit the partition size you need the pro version of this tool.
Can I allocate it in disk managment ?@@_Panic_
This answered all my questions other people were making it very confusing you were very straight forward and got to the point quick thanks earned a sub.
Can’t thank you enough for this easy to follow and simple tutorial!! I was so worried because someone told me I flat out couldn’t move windows over so thanks for proving them wrong! My PC boots MUCH faster now! 😃
What an amazing tutorial. First I was very excited to get my ssd, then I had complications finding a good tutorial, finally I found yours and I’m on my way to smooth booting! I hope your food is warm and your pillows are cold friend.
very interesting good wishes
Here here
I wish more creators respected our time like you did here. Thank you. I hate sitting through minutes of fluff and people rambling about stuff that is unnecessary or extremely over complicated just for the sale of making a long video they can throw more ads on.
Thank you tons for the quick and straightforeward tutorial, im getting an ssd in the mail soon and i wanted to move the operating system over without a hassle and so far you are the only person to make a tutorial thats quick and straight to the point
Currently cloning everything over now! I love how concise yet informative this is. It hits every point and shows clearly how to do it. I also like that you show you are using an M.2 drive and not a SETA cable, because looking at other videos, it’s a completely different process doing it that way. Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks john f kennedy! Its SATA* btw

Can i do the same from ssd to nvme? I want to transfer everything from the ssd that includes windows to the nvme. Also should i first allocate the nvme?
@@mar__kyes bro. Nvme is again ssd
Wow, so easy and simple. Thank-you! I was running out of space on an older SSD and wanted to simply get a new, larger SSD. I did the swap and worked perfectly just like you said. AND.... your video was short, to the point and clear to understand. So much better than starting a fresh. Thanks!
Best tutorial on youtube! Short and simple. I encountered some trouble as my SSD newly installed showed MBR type while my hdd was GPT type. However after refreshing everything they were both GPT and I transferred everything. Changed the boot sequence and it worked PERFECTLY! My computer is SOO much faster now.
How did you refresh everything ? I’m having the same problem where my hdd is gpt and my ssd which I want to boot windows on is mbr
Instructions were clear and very simple to follow. I was able to get 6.3 running without a paywall and now my computer boots up lighting fast then before.
Really appreciate the help.

I built my pc with a sata drive, and now just got an nvme m.2, with double the capacity,
I didn't really know what to search on RUclips to actually find a tutorial on, but this fit the description of what I wanted to do,
The tutorial was incredibly useful, and the little things are what shows that you know what you are doing, so it makes me feel confident that you didn't just get me to install a virus/trojan/malware under the cover of "moving windows from a hard drive to an SSD"
things like; showing how to open the bios, not trying to get everyone to buy something, clicking the box to make sure we don't have to sign up and just keeping this under 5 minutes (thanks for not trying to make this a 10 min vid just to get it monetized.
also, I don't know if it is just me, but I just noticed that when you move the AOMEI tab, it has a lot of latency, so you can shake it and let go of your mouse and watch it move
Yeah, I don't know how to describe it.
Super quick, simple, easy. 10/10 well done guide!
Great and informative video! Short and to the point unlike others I found.
I've put this off for the last 5 or so years. I had no Idea it was this easy! Something to note is AOMEI's site doesnt seem to load 6.3 ( probably because they know people are using that one instead ) but 6.0 worked fine
These are the videos I like straight-to-the-point
I like these short but informative videos
Havent tried it yet, but thats how you make a tutorial, fast and easy to understand
This seems pretty simple. My brother got me an SSD last chistmas and said he would install it, then procrastinated and said it was complex and tricky to convert windows over to the SSD, and has yet to do so. Upon watching this video I am pretty sure I could figure it out possibly.
This tool helped me a lot, I've used it for a long time since I saw your video last time, really useful. Thank you.
Thank you very much for this helpful guide. The instructions can be easily followed even if you have limited knowledge with computers. Specific and substantial. Thumbs up!
Wanted to let anyone trying this out know if it doesn't work, you may have incompatibility issues. Since there are two different partition styles, where you might have to change it, they are GPT and MBR.
Meaning your main drive's partition style has to be the same as the one you're cloning it to. So you'll have to change it through the windows command prompt by clicking the search box next to START and type in diskpart and run it till the black box appears.
Now type in: list disk, and select the correct new drive that you want to be the new boot drive. By typing in for example: select disk 1. Afterwards type: clean. Once successfully you'll lastly just type in convert to either GPT or MBR, for mine I had to type in: convert gpt.
Hope this helps anyone, if not it'll help guide you.
Why must it be this complicated
Bro tell me about it it had bricked my pc had to get a new one
Thank you!
W guy right here
and now it doesnt show my ssd?
Thank you so much. I was stuck trying to get past that pay wall. Version 6.3 is a lifesaver. Liked and subscribed

Update: Link in description doesn't work anymore. Couldn't find version 6.3 on the website but found an installer elsewhere. I'm not sure when/why it changed, but the clone function is still paywalled (even though it *says* it isn't). Newer version is paywalled as well.

Oh my God, thank you. Everything else I've found was really long and drawn out and complicated but this was very simple and straightforward.

Behind paywall if your disk is GPT instead of MBR. There is no work around, confirmed on their forum. So this will only work if both of your disks are MBR, so no partition over 2TB. Might be an issue for you, might not. But if by any change your disk is GPT you are stuck and should search in another place.
Damnit this is so frustrating. I've spent all my money to upgrade my hd to an ssd, then it arrived without any cords so I had to go out and buy them, and now every free software won't work. This seriously shouldn't be so difficult.
@@PhilosoFeed depending on the size of your ssd and if you don't care for partitions over 2 TB, then you can convert it to MBR and it should work (if your HHD is already MBR, which it should tbh). As for the cables, no idea why people buy SATA SSDs, the speed is around 500MB/s, you can get 2000MB/s (for low spec) up to 7000MB/s for M2 SSDs.
@@alext8406 I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre M93p, so this upgrade should be plenty for me. I just want a bit more loading speed for basic tasks.
Can you explain what you mean by converting to mbr? I actually don't care about any of the data on hdd, just want windows to boot from my ssd and don't have the install key.
@@PhilosoFeed in “disk management” it should show All of your hard drives and their partitions. When you install a new SSD it should pop up in this disk management and ask to install it with either MBR or EPT. That’s what he is talking about. MBR is older and like this guy was saying, it can’t process partitions over 2TB. So if you have a 2TB SSD you won’t be able to use MBR on the SSD. You have to use EPT. And you need both your hard drive and your SSD to be MBR for this method shown in the video to work. It’s hard to explain or understand, I barely get it. I don’t really know what MBR or EPT do or what they mean, but I know they have to be the same for you to easily clone your shit over!
This Video is Short, BUT This is helping in LONG term!!!
This Helped me A LOT!
Thank you!

Very clear and concise. Thanks a bunch dude
Hi roo and everyone ...i get a message. Saying ....the size of the partition on the destination disk remains unchanged by default ...to add unallocated space to all partitions click edit disk..what do I do or how do I do that?
What if your drive with Windows on it has more storage capacity than the NVME you wish to migrate Windows to? As it says the disk is too small.
Lmk if you ever find a solution lol
@@oskarwickbom3027 Unfortunately, I went ahead and bought a bigger nvme. If you want to install windows fresh on a new drive, you can always do that; but you can't clone a drive that's got 1tb to a drive that's got 500gb.
