- Опубликовано: 2 авг 2024
- The Foo Fighters performed an Aftershow for Lollapalooza and Perry Farrell came out to sing Mountain Song with the band.
VOTE Jane's Addiction to Rock n Roll Hall of fame 2024 ! pass it around !!
That Pat Smear hug in the middle of the song sings a million words all at once. Amazing performance by Perry and FF.
@@RUBBERTANK_3 it was a beautiful moment.
Good ol' Peryy Farrell, the Crispin Glover of Rock...love this song!
That’s such a good comparison dude
"I'm your density"
You’re right. That’s funny.
I’m just not good with confrontations.....
🤣🤣 .. Brilliant!!
Perry Farrell, the biggest, tallest, mile highest, most athletic front man ever, that velvet voice with all those stories to tell. Never could a band get me higher live. Jumped out of my flesh so many times in Los Angeles. Thank you for the best times of my life and thank you Foo Fighters for the gorgeous tribute.
Being 16 at Lollapalooza in the 90's...man....you could feel the culture shifting. Was fucking electric. If you've never seen Jane's live, your albums dont even do them justice. Goddamn that band was a different animal live.
I was 18.
I remember Lollapalooza 93&94, fantastic shows!!!gosh I was in my twenties 🥺😞😲
My first time to see Jane's Addiction was 1992 in London. They were my favourite band back then. Nothing's Shocking was the re-emergence of rock music. Excellent band.
Seen two Jane's shows in the 90s and they consistently delivered what I can only describe as a mind altering performances. Only wish I had caught the farewell tour a few years ago. Too old and stupid now to keep up on stuff I love.
Saw them in '88 at The World in NYC for the CMJ conference. To this day, the single greatest concert I have ever seen.
Watching Grohl, Pat and Taylor fangirl over Perry is kinda amazing to watch. You can tell these dudes are clearly MASSIVE fans and they're having a blast onstage just watching Perry and playing with one of their idols.
Yes. It is obvious and I live that they are not too proud to admit it!
I hope I'm still moving like Perry Farrell when I'm in my 60's
Love how Pat went total fanboy & hugged Perry. Very cool moment!
BD me too! awesome
Back in the Germs days Perry was fanboy of Pat
More old friends, but that was a great moment.
I would of done the same. Its Freaking Perry Ferrell. I have chills just watching.
@@omarchapa8247 absolutely. I'd push Paul McCartney & Robert Plant aside just to hug Perry
A true survivor of the '90s, a unique voice and a stage presence that overshadows anyone
Perry is one of the Most Underrated Rock Stars!!!,,,,
he is original no bullshit pure rock and roll
You’re so damn right 👍🏻🙏🏻
Underrated?
He
Is GOD in rock and roll and everybody that knows something about músic
Knows that.
❤️❤️❤️
You can tell he inspired Scott Weiland's live approach (circa early 2000's)
Without Jane's Addiction, there is no 90's alt. rock.
There's always been an alternative. But please go ahead and buy into marketing buzzwords.
Sort of ridiculous claim, there was much alt b/4 Janes and have nothing to do with JA. I really like Janes but living in that era there was TONS of great alt acts.
@@ThirstyCraig Sure there were "alternative" music acts, but if these guy's never drop Nothing's Shocking & open up the floodgates; The Chili Peppers never make Blood Sugar Sex Magik and 90's alternative rock as we know it cease to exist.
JA brought together many different groups. That can't be denied .
@@zachdove470 nah, they’re great, but you are delusional.
you cannot hear it here but Perry has one of the most amazing voices out there.
You've got to be kidding me with this! Perry brings the boom!
He's a class act
3:55 Long, long ago, in their LA club days, Janes used to cover some Germs songs - Pat Smear’s old band and LA punk legends - including Lexicon Devil. As someone who was at a couple of those shows, it’s crazy to see both Perry and Pat still at it 30 yrs later.
G2 I thought the same thing when Pat went to give Perry a hug: L. A. LEGENDS!!!
*Gimme gimme this...*
*Gimme gimme thayeyeyaaaatt!!!*
Perry Farrell was my Rock God from the moment I first heard Nothing's Shocking when I was a teenager. 30 years later the Cat is still cool as fuck.
Mark Gibbs same dude, same!!
Hell yeah!!! People forget about Janes Addiction WAAAAAYYY too often!!! They were AMAZING!!! If I was catchin' Foo Fighters at a venue as small as the Metro, my mind would ALREADY be blown! Dave Grohls already on stage... then fuckin' Perry Farrell shows up!?! Not too mention Pat freakin' Smear is on stage!!! Man, that show is what rock 'n' roll folklore is freakin' made of, man!!! Woulda' killed to hae been there!!!
Piggs in Zen
Nothings shocking is a masterpiece.
@@charlesm8482 cameras got them images got them all
God Bless Dave Grohl. Keeping half of all rock musicians employed
DANG STRAIGHT!
Ha
David used to talk so much shit about the music he now adopts 😅 ..I remember when he and Kurt argue over metal bands like DIO
It’s a win win win situation
ha ha brilliant comment
He sounds like he did in the 80's, f'n amazing.
Pat Smear......Legend.
chet binip kinda , on that side of rock n roll . Couldn't carry Slash's guitar case !
germs, nirvana and finally foo fighters.
2:14 The fact that Perry and Taylor were such good friends... Perry KNEW Taylor would crush this tune...
I grew up on Jane's Addiction. To the point as a teen I used to look up articles on microfiche in the library. Went to the first Lolla.I love that they all look and seem genuinely happy to be rocking together.
Was at their first UK gig (support to Fields of the Nephilim) and just stood there with my jaw on the ground getting hit by the wall of incredible sound. Saw a couple of the Ritual tour dates and again but even more so, stood in the middle of the crowd completely mesmerized.
Hard to believe this is a song out of the 80’s
That voice. Unique. Disturbing. Scary. Spectacular.
Quite literally the only show I ever wished I was at.
Love Perry Farrell....from his voice and his moves!
Jane’s is such a great band and Perry is so good as a frontman - awesome!
Still to this day, Perry's just enjoying himself. That beautiful smile.
At his age, with all he's been through, it is great to see him on stage and having a great time.
I miss his “natural” smile..ie teeth
Best album cover of all time.
I was fortunate enough to attend the 1st Lollapalooza (Orlando) with all access passes given to me by Stephen Perkins. It was quite the experience and a memory I will never forget and always cherish!!!
wow, great man, did you get the pass for backstages too ? heard Henry Rollins talking about carnal experimentations between people :D, sounded wild and fun!!
That's good stuff, Jane's songs will never get old
Yeah, good point. One of the benefits of being a singularity, I guess. They don't belong to a time/place.
Perry is a Rock Star plain an Simple🤘🏽
Perry is the best, always sounds great!
Dont Break the Oath, but this one is second.
Love it! Especially seeing my Pat Smear and Taylor so into it!!
I like the way Perkins ends Mtn song, like a true maniac
Thx Valerie for getting us tickets to Lollapalooza #1 in NJ ♥️, and Perry was wasted so Jane’s show started 45 mins late, Siouxie & Banshees cancelled, but NIN rocked
The difference a charismatic singer only front man makes is amazing
So true. You can't take your eyes off him!
Chills. Good job on the solo chris
OMG!
Never thought I would see this band backup Perry.
They knocked it out!
The two coolest living human beings, on stage together! Maybe the greatest video ever.
Im old I was at 1st Lollapalooza too at Fla State fairgrounds,,, We drove up no room to stay at just beer and party supplies !! Rocked n partied all day then made it to a motel parking lot and slept in the car for a few hours b4 driving the 3 hours south back home!! Good old days no stress no plan just having funn!!!
Awesome times . I did the same shot. Hope your well.
Im def sounding old now but the 90s were the best time musically in my life so far ,, There were so many bands putting out great new music and then Perry started Lollapalooza!! Like i said Awesome fun time in life for sure !!
The first Lola palooza happened in Arizona with Butthole Surfers and Henry Rollins and BodyCount
Long Live Perry Farrell and
Jane's Addiction. The Soundtrack to my youth 😎
Not an easy song to walk out on stage and belt out.
But he did it well
Perry is the festival King.
Omg this has made me the happiest i could be! Thank you! Perry makes everyone happy! Pat even had to stop mid-song to hug him!! 😂
My favorite veno in Chicago (my home town) ! I've beet to NYC (CBGB's, and LA,, Viper Club, etc, and others) but they had nothing as good as seeing a show than the Metro in Chi-town!
That feedback can't handle the awesomeness coming from Perry's mouth
God damn Perry still sounds amazing.
Love this song, great performance…….what a character
Perry and J/A the most bad ass rock n roll band of all time!! Grohl and Foo are awesome but Perry is Rock Royalty!!! J/A is my wife and I mutual favorite band and we danced to Classic Girl as our wedding song !! Married in 1993 will be 26yrs this Sept!!! We saw J/A in Miami small club Jackie Gleason Theater about 5 years ago and when they played Classic Girl our wedding song it reared me up!!! Good stuff n Love us some Janes!! As the show ended something hit me in the chest and I looked down and there was one of Stephen Perkins wrist sweat bands he threw in the crowd and yes in my 40's I had to pick it up like a kid !! Still have it on a shelf at home ,,,, Good Stuff!!
I can remember a time when Perry was dangerous....sure miss that dude
Coming Down The Mountain! Cool Song! Everybody Cashes Inn Eventually! Why Not?
Perry is still amazingly disturbing. His voice hasn't changed bit. Damn I miss Jane's.
I love Pat Smear. Love it when he hugs Perry. It's like he can't help it.
Kneill Ryan I was feeling it too damn this takes me back. I wanted to hug him too!
Yeah - he had a flashback to 1989 and couldn't help himself :)
What's the big deal, they've probably known each other from the LA scene a long time, friends hug. It's not like it's their first time meeting each other.
@@stevejackson2986 but the love man ... The love ❤❤❤😂😂😂
That was just frigging awesome. RIP Taylor.
What a gem.
Witnessing this very special communion of these icons of rock royalty is a delight. Thanks for uploading!
Perry and Pat are f'n legends
"COMIN' DOWN THE MOUNTAIN!" Fuck yes!
Perry is one in a trillion and after going down memory lane 30 yrs later I stumble across this, thankyou Dave for inviting him, Taylor RIP was sooo fukn happy to see Perry as was Pat, Chris & Nate, this brought every kind of emotion to the surface, Big Love To All The Jane's Addiction & Foo's Fans xoxo
I was expecting it to sound like a shreds video, but Farrell can still wail this song.
But the best part is that Pat Smear has a solid gig.
Comin down the mountain.
SHREDDIN' WITH SHIFTY!! Damn, what a great performance and a killer tune.
Perry is still fucking Amazing
Fantastic! Still has it. Thank you, Dave. Watching Dave on his guitar was pretty cool too.
I remember hearing the Mountain Song for the first time, and thinking, "Thank fucking God there is an alternative to 80's glam metal." True story.
Foo Fighters could back anyone out there and simply tear it up!
Perry and Foo Fighters!! are Amazing!!
As usual, Perry sounds great.
Song popular around L.A. in 1987....still killing!
Perry truly is an alien who came here to bless all of us with insanity and blissful happiness all at the same time.
Perry sounds AND looks fantastic. He's a real inspiration!! -D
Perry fucking FARRELL!!!!!!!!!!! Never forget this man's name, his band, his festival, his revolution, his legacy.
That was pure magic!
As I giant Janes addiction fan back in the day, I'm surprisingly really excited watching this. Maybe because Mountain Song is the first Janes Addiction song I heard when Nothing's Shocking came out, and it was so incredibly exciting at the time. You knew "Nothing's Shocking" and Jane's Addiction was going to change the face of music. A very exciting time!!
The world would be an even better place if Foo Fighters always sounded like Jane's Addiction.
or if Jane's Addiction could always have sounded like Jane's Addiction, even.
Haha I really enjoyed that last album. So I think they still got it. But with a long enough of a career there are certainly missteps.
@@drumgold23 it's true man. I saw them for a second time and straight up walked out because it was so trash. The first time I saw the though was literally one of the greatest shows in my life.
No you have it wrong. Foo fighters are unique just like Jane's. I seek new alt rock steady but in 2021 where is the real music? Could anyone give me some some suggestions on new tunes from California? I'm in the northern ontario bush.
@@drumgold23 Half the time they were Porno For Pyros.
One day, soon, we’ll miss this. A lot.
The first video I watched since Taylor’s passing. It’s hard. Very hard
Perry nailed it. Past few years his voice has been a little shaky - but not this night. Spot on!
He had a bit of a slur, got some fuel in him.
His voice never changes. What a gift.
I was at the first 4 Lollapaloozas. Sooo many bands at those that all blew my mind!! This just gave me the reminiscence chills! 🔥🔥🔥
You just made a dream moment happen between artists!!! This is GOLD!
I'm from North Idaho. Resort Town. This song brings back memories. I'm 43 now but thanks for video. I can't fly fish in Texas.
Jane's Addiction 1990 ❤
It was a TRUE Music Revolution.
GenX, Early-mid 1990s.
I was there
Me too, first Lala tour ever, I saw the. In the SF Bay area .... Mountain ViewI think a d was blown away! The whole thing was his idea LA pollution that is and he did something really cool that no one had done before at least not at that level. There must have been 8 different stages at the first tour that I want to in California and I love the idea of putting all these different bands out there for people to appreciate them and for the people to get exposed to new music. Of course Jane's addiction was the final act and it was Really intense and I had goosebumps like the whole time. Perry Farrell is one of the best rock singers ever in my opinion and the band is 1 of the coolest most modern you could say all rock bands ever and so much earlier than the rest of them might as well bend the creators of alternative rock. There were bands like the death tones who definitely definitely defined the era but I think they came a little later than Jane's addiction. It was such a creative Time in music history and I still love the bands from that era the most of my favorites.
@@ScottChicago Seen Jane's least 7 times fr 97-12
I love the Foo Fighters and Perry is friggin awesome.
Wow..this is surprisingly great!!I was there in the beginning...I would have been going crazy when this went down
Perry Still sounds perfect. Jane’s Addiction was such a treasure.
Been to over 100 shows. Janes Addiction best live band.
I was at that Lollapalooza and a couple after and yes, the culture shift was real and glorious.
Up there with the best of the best frontman.
Love love love this!!
Legendary performance.
man I love Perry.
que vibe, emocionante, salve Perry Farrel gênio
Love this SO much! Thank you for sharing!!
Freaking awesome! !!!!!!!!!!
The early 90s was so much fun!
This kicks ass...great vid!!!!!!
It's crazy to think this is the same Perry Farrell from the early 90's. You watch some of those early videos and he is so into heroin that he looks like a ghost from some other dimension up on stage rocking back and forth. The entire band just oozed untamed creativity and musical energy... mysterious, dangerous, powerful. This version of Perry is... different.
i mean. he's a dad. we all change.
M Litch he's married with kids and decided to live...that's what's different.
Look at how many people from that era are gone.
Yoko brought him down
They look like they're having so much fun! T smashing it on the drums 🙌
I'd go shopping w Perry...
That'd be a quite a day!!
💚
