    Love the form factor. If Aneng would refine the viewing angle on the display and add a fuse access door, that one could be a winner.

    Keep in mind that the brand "Aneng" is a solely commercial brand, not a producer or engineering unit. Most of their products are from "Zotek". But on this product I pass: money and engineering capacity were focused on design and show effect, NOT on specs and handling. I think that is the main reason for Zotek to not distribute it under her own brand "Zoyi" to not damage their good reputation

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  Месяц назад +3

      Honestly, for me, it's one of the best Aneng releases in a long time. It's not for everybody, but Aneng definitely put some thought into this multimeter. It's by no means perfect but a good multimeter in its own right.👌

  • @pault6533
    @pault6533 Месяц назад +1

    Amazing progress for ANENG! Plus we get SHIELDING for Darren 🍹 perhaps it is also a weight? Looks like nickel plated steel. You are the first reviewer, the insider dude. When I first saw this meter I thought it might be a combo game console and multimeter 🎮 Gotta love big digits and a repositioning screen for under-hood use. No tilt-stand required. Nice to see a pushbutton multimeter that doesn't have the Auto mode. On the box, Maybe they meant to day that it's auto-ranging? A bit of a miss, they could have made the multimeter turn on and off with the display being open, along with the backlight. With 1800 mAh, that battery should last weeks even with the light on all the time.🙂

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  Месяц назад +2

      Great points Paul! I like your idea about having the multimeter automatically turn on when opening the case ! Btw, It's got some weight to it as well, which is really nice. Agreed, lost in translation on the box, autoranging is surely what they meant to say! 😅 Shielding was totally unexpected !! All in all, it's a really nice package for not much dinero.

    • @watchmakerful
      @watchmakerful Месяц назад +2

      Yep, that shielding is really thick and definitely acts as a weight to avoid flipping over.

  • @watchmakerful
    @watchmakerful Месяц назад +4

    Why doesn't it have an auto mode? This mode is extremely useful for detecting full shorts in a live circuit. If two points are connected, it beeps, if not, displays either resistance or voltage (if there is any).

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  Месяц назад

      Great point! 👍 A semi smart mode would have been a nice addition. I'm not sure why Aneng negated this from the meter!

    We need to see more current clamps. Ones that can do DC current please!

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  Месяц назад +1

      Yes, there's a little bleeding at the bottom of the display. However, it's not really affecting the overall quality. More DC Clamps a coming!

    Couple of ideas.
    1) List the spec needed for say.. DIYer, Electrician, electronics hobbyist.
    2) How to test different components, like identifying the pins on a transistor etc.
    3) How to not blow up your meter/electrocute yourself. Safe testing methods.
    4) Good habits like pulling out the current lead immediately after you measure it.

    This formfactor actually exists for a while. Gossen used to have some like this, but then with the old-style rotary switch though. Look at the Gossen M243E for example.

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  Месяц назад

      Gossen's M234D definitely looks the part, although it's priced over $1,000, so a tad more expensive. Still, the Aneng 623 is a totally unique design we have rarely seen.🔭

      @KeepOnTesting  Месяц назад

      Right on! 👍

    • @ssalient
      @ssalient Месяц назад

      Might be some sort of shielding since it's right over the relays to prevent magnets from interfering with them. This DOES happen and not with the cheapest brands actually, Gossen Metrawatt has a very expensive meter that is prone to this and can leave it in an 'undocumented' state and give false (dangerous) readings..

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  Месяц назад

      @ssalient Probably doing both jobs. Always nice to see shielding of any sore on a multimeter 👍

  • @BILALALGHALI
    @BILALALGHALI 10 дней назад

    I bought it, but I have returned it to the store. This product has quite an attractive model, but the quality and quantity are questionable. My complaint with the Aneng 623 multimeter is that the LCD screen is not flush with the casing, and the casing does not close tightly at the right and left corners, and also the measurements for the resistors are rated higher... and the buttons are quite hard, not smooth. Initially I was curious and bought it, but was disappointed so I returned it to the shop

      Sounds like you got a lemon. Too bad as it's a fairly decent dmm for the road.

  • @yambo59
    @yambo59 Месяц назад

    Unique MM variation -- looked like that shielding was meant for protection from current shunt heat and fuse blast shielding-(?) instead of main CPU area /component EMP interference-? Looked like a metal plate more than just tape etc.

    Input-dependent CAT rating that does not quite agree with the construction practices of this instrument - this looks CAT II at best. BTW, if you want to do a tutorial on multimeter use, do include the CAT system - and what would probably happen if you accidentally shorted out an actual CAT III installation in current mode with this kind of instrument..... or even a vehicle traction battery...

    With a total cost with shipping being around $50 US, I wouldn't call it cheap. I'm not sure about the automotive features, maybe that's what makes it worth it. I would like to mention (just because I'm a know-it-all,) when testing for voltage or resistance with a reference module, You should use the best and shortest leads possible. but anyway nice video.
