Happy Holidays! Thanks for helping us build our wish list all year long 😊
🤦🏻♂️
Happy Holidays my friend!! ..Thx for putting out some of the best test instrument blogs on the planet! 😊 👍
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas Eric! 🎅 👍
Happy holidays to you both. I've been working on a Linux install all day myself.
Happy Holidays! Hope your Linux install went smoothly! Those penguins can be a real pain!
Finally, a T12 review for Christmas! (Shame it isn't mine, could really use one with this car amplifier repair I got going on!)
A bit sad it is AC power only...I would like the option to use DC power to completely eliminate any grounding deal and do solder work on-site Or we can just hack the case to have that done, there seems to be enough space to do it! You can also get STM32 T12 controller boards on their own, or with a housing...but they are quite pricey compared to a kit by the time you get the handle and tips...
Note on the handles though, some that have a lengthened grip (that covers up most of the tip) would become very hot to hold while some would melt. The genuine Hakko ones might do you better, unless the offbrands figured that out. Merry Christmas to everyone!
Merry Xmas !! A reliable DC power input would be a great upgrade/feature 👍I'm feeling like Santa! Shoot me an email: netplicity1@gmail.com
@@KeepOnTesting Sure, on it!
Merry Christmas! Neat looking setup. Wonder how the case will holdup over the years with a hot iron stuffed into it? Some vent holes would have been nice.
Merry Christmas!! Definitely could use more venting for passive heat dissipation.. Having that metal pipe inset for the iron will definitely help..but ultimately only time will tell😅😅
It required external help to get the juice out of its tip, but man was it quick ... which is desired from a soldering station.
Ho Ho Hoeee! Merry Christmas! 🤩
Merry Christmas Bhushan ! 🎅 👍 ho ho ho
Merry Christmas darren,, sorry I'm late because I just opened RUclips
@juleshaaa575 Merry Christmas my friend! KeepOnTesting! 😃👍
God sorg... 😅 👍
This ground is indeed an afterthought. Ground wires must be connected with either a spade connector or ring connector on a bolt. This not only reduces fatigue failure, but soldered connections can easily melt when called upon to carry current to protect the user and this could happen *before* any circuit breaker or fuse trips.
Ground wires should always be green as well; green is a ubiquitous color, so surely it would cost the same as black. The power supply looks a lot like the ones used in Quicko and KSGER stations and the display and firmware is quite similar as well, so this is probably an adaptation of those stations. The switching transformer appears to have excellent insulation and this is a pleasant surprise with drop-shipped Chinese products, so other than the cheap grounding this appears to be a safe product.
Thanks for the review, but too many QC issues to recommend this one; wrong plug type could happen to other customers and DOA iron is unacceptable. The quality, third-party power supply is let down by the lack of quality control during assembly.
I'm a little late, but Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Great points 👉...agreed it was not a very stellar performance considering all the issues you mentioned. Hopefully, Handskit improves their game as these aren't exactly dirt cheap 😬 Merry Xmas my friend!
Lol even gave the daily driver Pace a little action.
Got that right! 👍
Hi Bro, does this station not have a soldering iron rest mode when it is put in its place?
Yes it has an autosleep mode that activates after 30 min, plus a 15 min standby mode.
@KeepOnTesting No that, I was saying when you put the soldering iron in its housing, it doesn't go into sleep mode automatically??
No.
Merry X-mas! Personally for me is a mains switch on the backside just simply a no-go. Assuming it works: There is not much more to complain about this device. Slava Ukraine!
I'm not keen on the power switch placement either..Merry Xmas! Slava Ukraini 👍
@@probang2866 I suspect a power switch in the back is in order to comply with regulations.
@@pault6533 There is no such regulation - at least as I'm aware of. Just right now I have several devices in arms range (power supplies, signal generators, DMM´s, digital oscilloscope, hotair and conventional soldering station and so on) all of them equipped with a "hard" power switch at the front. I even had a cheap soldering station (temperature regulated but without display) with the power switch at the front. Placing the switch to the back (as seen in the video) means just: The manufacturer prefers to cut costs using one mass produced, therefore very cheap part - working as mains connector, fuse and switch all together - versus several parts and a connection increasing the usability and convenience for the user/buyer.
The regulation I heard of is in the UK where I do not reside, but it would drive the design for all markets. A switch at the back near the input implies complete mains removal and is always desirable, even if a soft switch is present elsewhere. More important on linear power supplies. Some of your equipment might have a mechanical button on the front that has a stick that actuates an actual power interrupting switch deep inside the unit. It is good to have both panel and entrance switches.
@@pault6533 I know the mentioned construction (mechanical actuated switch inside) from my DMM and an old CRT- oscilloscope. Only my TV and my PC have a soft button. Devices on stand-by are a pretty nice idea for your energy supplier, not so much beneficional for your energy bill. I would tolerate permanent powered measurement devices if they have to had heated components for maintaining high precision standards (voltage or time). Pretty much nothing else should draw current if shut down.
🎄2025🎄♥️😊👍🏻
Hand skit.. Just look up how 💩 is written in swedish..
Very overpriced.
