I only got to see them once on this tour and I’m glad they played this one that night, because I’d never seen them play it. It’s also one of my wife’s favorites, and she nearly punched a lady in front of us in the back of the head when she loudly blurted “Is this time stand still?”
They played this one at my show as well. I've heard/seen it live before but it's still one of my favorites from that era. As for the "Hold Your Fire" comment from the lady..."all you can do is wish them well" 🙂
Manhattan Project has always been one of my favourites from Power Windows, and the string ensemble takes it to a whole new level, especially on the part leading into the third chorus. I'm glad you liked it too! 🎤 🎹 🎸 🥁 🎸 🎻 🎻 🔥 🔥 🔥
One of my favourites from Power Windows. Perfect with the string ensemble with the song having a string part anyway. Love the tone of Alex's telecaster.
One last tune from PoW! Geddy done well again...band chose older "funnier" songs in this 2nd set that paired well with the strings and Geddy's vocal abilities...Alex needs more to do in this one...adding the comedic flair is always nice though🤘
I distinctly remember seeing this... and also seeing Dreamline. it took me a few minutes to remember I saw them both in NYC and Philly. They should have found a way to put this song into "Oppenheimer" :D. How many modern songs are out there based on the Manhattan Project? Man, hearing these again, I forgot how much I loved the strings.
This was great!! I wouldn’t have cared which song I got.. they were both great! The strings do seem to blend better on this one! Be well and God bless… from Texas!!
Wow... you compare this version of the song to the version in the "Show of Hands" concert which used synth strings and there really is no comparison. The synth strings are so buried in the mix and have no dynamic range compared to the live players.
When I heard there were strings on this tour, I was concerned that, late in the set, they would play Nobody's Hero because of it's heavy strings in the latter half. So glad they played this instead.
I know you are a tele guy but I’d take a les Paul, PRS and even a Strat over a tele. Maybe it’s the twang. I don’t know. Not my favorite. At least Alex plays is well without twang. But the color combo is unlike anything he normally plays.

Hahaha! :)
And if watch closely Geddy is still triggering the string parts on many parts on almost all the songs

Beautifully done. My first time hearing this version. Kudos and thanks...
Manhattan Project: appropriate considering Oppenheimer movie 🎥 🎬 🍿 out now!

Beautiful arrangement, love it. Thanks for this Justin, cheers.
One of my favorites...I dreamed of them playing this live with strings since I first heard it in 1985. Too great!
Alex Used the Telecaster guitar for over 90% on songa in the recordibg atudio!
Cant believe they didn't pick this up for the oppenhiemer film??
Definitely a better choice than Dreamline with the strings.
So good! Great song. I always loved the string section on this.
I have always loved this song but this is the ultimate version.
Some strings work in Rush songs, this is one of them
One of the few songs that had strings in the studio version. The string ensemble nailed it here.

Happy Birthday to the great Alex Lifeson on the 27th. Seventy years young.
Alex’s 1952 Reissue Fender Telecaster.
maybe they should have borrowed this for the Oppenheimer movie

This was very cool with the strings. It evaluated the song.
Yep, those strings really do make a difference. Those big, open chords that would fill the space just come alive with the strings.

Yep. Totally agree. Great analysis.

Again, not a fav but the strings brought it to a whole different level. We both went whoo at the same time. LOL
Good one.
Wasn't this the first Rush song to use real strings? So yeah, sort of a no-brainer for this tour. Sort of an odd guitar choice, IMO.

Sounds great with the strings.
Love this song. :) Glad to see it with an actual string section. :)
The strings were good here but it's not a favorite song for me.
I wanna hear Marathon with the string section! But, this one was great too.
😎😎🧡🧡
phenomenal, love this version.
Agree. p/g over 🦴every time
Any and every time 👍
Manhattan Project is from Power Windows.
