On this and R40, Neil abandoned the long-form solos of past tours. Instead of a single 8-9 minute solo, he opted for three 2-3 minute solos. I’ve always assumed it’s because he was beginning to feel his late 50s. Can’t say I blame him!

Also, Headlong Flight was more like a short drumming interlude rather than a real solo.

Yeah, this was a SOLID concert! This was the 2nd jaw-dropper for me when I saw them. Another song I never thought I'd hear live again. They're all doing very fun musical things in it. Alex's guitars keep shifting and morphing, Neil's tribal drumming is filled with a ton of melody, and Geddy keeps jumping between keyboard and bass support to full in-your-face bass. And then it builds up to a dramatic ending. One of my favs!

I came on board on Signals. Power Windows came out my senior year.. So the first set was a feast to see the synth period get some long overdue love. They added some old man grit to the songs this time lol

My favorite track from Power Windows. “Better the pride that resides in a citizen of the world than the pride that divides when a colorful rag is unfurled.” Great lyric

one of my favorite songs. So glad I got to hear it live. Also one of the few songs where Geddy did not have to belt out higher notes. He could actually just sing it in a regular voice. Still a great song. Nice job JP.

It was a killer of a show all those songs they hadn't played or were played decades ago were amazing. Ye analogue kid come on. Territories shows how much work those 3 put in producing such greatness with a great team behind them. As you say awesome stuff 👍

Alex talked about them maybe doing a “B-sides” tour in an interview years before this. Guess this is it. They never shook up their shows this much in all of their touring history. My favorite setlist since Vapor Trails tour/Rio 🐾

Superb performance, not a favourite song but so well done LIVE. Rush always gives one hundred percent in concert, the fans get their money's worth at a Rush show, another of the many reasons they have a huge and long lasting fan base. Cheers Justin.

It was actually a camera on a giant boom in constant rotation. Kind of like a giant single blade ceiling fan. I was at this show in Dallas. Just left of FoH. Very cool to see how they filmed everything!

One thing I would have done differently is to have worn ear protection.

Damn! I forgot how good this song is. Considering how much Alex complained about what to do with all keyboards, he did pretty damn well.
The extra drum solos were for those lazy youngsters Alex and Geddy to rest on their laurels. 😉😻

😂Justin, you crack me up. 😉They only played Territories on the PW and HYF tours. I was pleasantly surprised/shocked that they pulled this one and quite a few of those 80’s songs out of the vault. Hearing these songs in 2012 after a heavy 30+ years of various come and go genres really made it special. Pay close attention to Geddy’s foot work during The Analog Kid solo AND the crowds reaction at the conclusion of Alex’s solo🤯🎸it’s reminiscent of the crowd reaction at the conclusion to Freewill’s solo section on their other videos.🤘🖖✌️🎸🥁🎹🎤🥇🇨🇦🎼👌👍

Loved all the PoW on this tour...PoW was only tour I missed after GuP...Neils drum pattern at the time for this song was pretty different...executed flawlessly here, along with another great bass lick from Geddy is what propels this song 🤘

Another great track from the Power Angels tour. The setlist seemed to upset quite a few people going by various comments over several Rush forums at the time and some did indeed vote with their feet, as the average attendance for the tour dipped just below the 9k mark. Just my opinion but this was their best ever setlist, just lacking another 2-3 tracks from PoW;)

One of my favorites from Power Windows. Love the drumming. Very creative. A good amount of guitar also. Something that was missing in some of the synth era songs. Even in the better ones. I would have loved for the band to completely rerecord the albums starting with PW and ending with Roll the Bones. Give them more guitar and not so thin sounding. I guess they still could and just use Neil's drums as recorded earlier.

I only recall Geddy spitting in my general direction in the old GA format after someone hit him in the face with a glow stick or something . Yep, even back in the 80’s, people felt that throwing things at artists was somehow cool and okay.

    • @lindaward5376
      @lindaward5376 Год назад

I recall once reading how they were starting into Distant Early Warning, when all of a sudden, Geddy went limp and was just standing there stunned, because a thrown cigarette lighter had hit him square in the forehead; the security guards asked if he wanted to confront the culprit, and he said no, he didn't want to give this person the satisfaction of meeting him. Another time, someone threw a "ladies' undergarment" at Alex.
