    Geddy really struggled vocally on the last two tours. I love this band and have since 1977., Despite all the talk about Neil and Alex's physical ailments, Geddy has never sounded worse. His voice is cracking, he's flat, he's sharp. Go back and listen to him on earlier tours. His range was effortless. I suspect age is a part if it, but there isn't any of the 2012 and 2015 tours where I thought he sang well.

    • @shurik121
      @shurik121 4 года назад

      Age is definitely part of it, but IMO Geddy just didn't adapt to singing his really high parts with the voice he had on the last tours. It's the same problem with any rock/metal singer who in his 60s tries to sing as high as he did in his 20s and 30s.

    • @NT-co1qw
      @NT-co1qw 4 года назад +1

      Bruh you suspect age has to do with it. Well no shit Sherlock he's one of like only 3 who have been touring every 4 or so years since 1974.

    • @photoniccannon2117

      Honestly, albums like S&A live were so good that they set the standard almost impossibly high. By any standard, geddy was a phenomenal singer in his prime.
      Unfortunately it did decline, as would be expected with age. We’d be in denial if we were to try to assume that wasn’t the case. He isn’t as good as he used to be. But that being said, he could still nail a tenor C in his sleep, even into his 60s. Compared to most other singers (Bon jovi, axl rose, rik emmett, and many others who sing in similar ranges), Geddy’s voice held up better than most of them.
      The last three live albums did have a bit more of an aged sound to his voice. I didn’t like it at first, but it grew on me. It became an acquired taste, and if anything, I’m impressed with how well he maintained the full tenor range through his entire career. He only lost about 3-4 notes over the span of 40 years. Very few rock singers can say the same.
      So while it still isn’t as good as albums like S&A were, it simply makes me appreciate those albums all the more I suppose. Geddy truly did a phenomenal job on some of those DVDs. I listen back and realize how much I took it for granted then, but holy smokes. That man never lost his pipes. What an incredible singer he was.

      As noted, Japan had been trying to surrender in secret talks for 12 months prior to the bombs destroying Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Dropping them to save American lives in an invasion of the Japanese homeland islands was propaganda designed to quell the people of the world from rising up against the US. It was all theatre to scare the Russians - not with the weapon itself, but with the knowledge that they were prepared to USE such a weapon. And the Japanese women and children who died in these blasts were the first victims in the coming so called 'Cold War'.
