Love this! I was thinking about doing something like this when my wife and I were watching Oppenheimer.

    Omg been waiting for this.
The obvious missed opportunity of the director was to not have this song start after the final fade just before the credits (maybe even a stylized edit with a dramatic pause after the second bar….)

Exacto . Este clásico debió ir en los créditos si o si . Nolan es fan de Rush . Tal vez Lee y Lifeson no quisieron por respeto al compositor Neil Peart ? QEPD 🙏

I love Rush, and this song, but I feel it’s a little too “happy” and/or energetic sounding for the overall vibe of the film

Man,what an intelligently written song. Great tune, vocals and, of course, Rush’s nonpareil technical excellence.

Good stuff! When I saw Oppenheimer, I thought to myself 'they've made a movie around Rush/Neil's 'Manhattan Project'! This deserves more hits. I wonder if Geddy and Alex have seen this.....

Oh most definitely they’ve seen it. As soon as Neil Peart wanted to write a song about it, he dove in and researched it for months. Obsessively.

That was a really nice job picking the moments from the film that matched the pacing of the song. Really creative use of the film. When you think about Manhattan Project by Rush, you think of the destruction and activity, but really it's a song about the people at the center of the realization that it's not a new weapon, it's a new world.

Thumbs up before the video started. 👍 headed this song for the first time in 1990 as a 12 year old kid and new Rush fan. It peaked my interest in the race for nuclear weapon superiority during WWII. Neil Pearts lyrics took me into so many different and fascinating topics. I will always be in his debt for a vast education to be a thinker and as a drummer 🤘

There's so many things you can glean from the lyrics. They're so wisely written. I think Neil, the author, would disagree with your assertion, based on my interpretation of the lyrics. As the chorus says, fools might try to wish away the bomb. But the bomb, when balanced with an adversary also having it, creates a mutually assured destruction scenario, which actually works to keep the peace - it keeps those two superpowers from actually declaring war. The bomb, it existing but not being used, is a "hopeful depend", because we live in a "world without end", as long as things stay balanced.

The movie sucks. I thought it was going to be about science, but it was really about a political witch hunt. 3 hours long.
