    Any reason for going with a disposable paper filter compared to washable one. With the scrambler you went the opposite way and its what you have done with all your other bikes.

      Yes indeed mate, I love a washable filter, and always buy one for my bikes, but this OEM style filter came included in the 'service kit' and it saved me a lot of money for now... on the next service, I will replace it with a washable one, but on a budget for now and just needed it clean!

    Another great maintenance video Del and perfectly captured by Penny. I don't know why but I still think of fuel injection on a bike as something new. It was really scary when it was new but it sure has made life easier once I learned not to fear it. 😁 Many thanks to you both. Peace and good health friends.❤👍👍

      Sure thing Rick, it will always be a new fangled invention to us old blokes, but when you realise it was on bikes in the 1970's, it's not actually that new lol ... but it is a darn sight easier to maintain than faffing about with carbs! Have a great weekend there buddy, ride safe, D&Px

    Curious. I have a gsx1400 and it runs fine. starts up on the button, but when idling for a couple on minutes from cold, it all of a sudden cuts out. Starts up straight away though. Any ideas. Could this be the airfilter, as noticed it is a bit dirty (not excessive though)

    Air filter had date installed written on it in nail polish... remembering I bought her in December 2021.... date on air filter was may 2001.
    Not changed in 20 years. I kid you not!!!

    Is there a risk of cross threading the new plugs because of the way you have to install them in those recesses?

    • @michaelmclarney1994
      @michaelmclarney1994 Год назад +1

      It is possible but unlikely if you're careful. The golden rule I work to is don't force it, they should screw down easily. If it feels a bit tight at the start, unscrew and start again. You should be able to spin the plug down, until it bottoms out, with 2 fingers on the extension bar only, introducing the torque or socket wrench to nip the plug up at the final stage. I hope this helps you 👍

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  Год назад +2

      Everything that Michael said, plus it helps to use a proper plug socket with the rubber insert that grips the plug safely so you can lower it carefully, taking care not to bump the electrode and risk closing the gap up, then you can orientate the plug perfectly over the hole and like Michael said, spin it down with your fingers on the extension bar!
