I Didn't Mean To Purchase a SUZUKI GSX 1400 MUSCLE BIKE!

  • Whilst looking for a motorbike for my buddy, I came across this beautiful 2nd hand retro 'Suzuki GSX 1400 Muscle bike'. Sat in the corner of the motorcycle dealer it caught my eye. 105bhp & 93ft lbs of torque, this 'Rhino' of a bike is squarely planted onto the ground weighing in at 228kg dry.
Manufactured between 2001-2008 by Suzuki & Intended to be a faster and more torque-laden version than Suzuki's similar Bandit 1200, with more up to date technology.
The GSX1400 is redlined at 9,000 rpm; however in practice there is little point in taking it past 7,000 because the bike has strong low and mid-range performance.
This Suzuki GSX 1400 is fitted with a Scorpion exhaust system & sounds absolutely awesome!
So if you too are looking for a deal, currently the 2nd hand bike market is buzzing.

.My 2005 GSX14 is now approaching 90K miles. Have had to replace two regulator/rectifiers during its life, though has been otherwise fantastic. The engine performs just like it has always done - with consistent annual oil changes, has proven bulletproof. I never tire of riding the torque curve through all the gears - a special motorbike.

I'd refer to what the MCN review article said back at the time referring to the 1400 as the biggest & blingiest of the retros with the most low down torque by a decent margin & even standing up to the abuse of a trackday. It is a heavy bike at 229kg & I'd agree with the remark from MCN that it has a 'rhino's feel about it. For me personally I wouldn't say it was 'flickable' through hairpin bends for the reasons stated above but there may be people that could throw it around more than me!
