Maybelline lifter gloss is the bomb! And I like the FitMe blush. And I agree about the eye shadow singles. However, they haven't updated or added to that color range in a long time!
They used to sell an eye shadow single in a color called Earthly Taupe that I used as a lid color for years. It was a pale taupe labelled as matte, but it had just a tiny bit of shimmer. They replaced it with a darker brown that was extremely shiny. I know because I bought it thinking I might as well try it. I guess the old color wasn't selling. It's difficult to find matte drugstore eye shadow. They're few and far between.
I also like the Fit Me blush especially in the nude shade. I have also heard that the Nudes of New York is a very good palette. I love the lifter gloss as well ♥️
Maybeline Age Rewind Eraser concealer is THE bomb! I have 1 million concealers add this one is so good. So hydrating. I’ve tried dozens & dozens of all kinds of concealers & always go back to the Age Rewind
I don’t like the pink Great Lash, but I love Falsies Surreal. I prefer mascaras where I only need one layer, like Benefit’s new Fanfare. I completely agree with you about the skin tint though! I’m in the dry skin club, too.

Great lash is my holy grail mascara! It works well if you have long lashes. It’s a volumizing mascara, so it doesn’t give much length. Simply curl your lashes,then apply. Let it dry between coats if you wanna build up the volume. I really enjoy it.
As a cosmetologist let me say this…… loreal always tampers wirh the products and makes them worse. They did it with biologe and redken…… its really hard because as a professional in dont want loreal products in my salon.
OTOH, the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Beauty Balm is great on my very dry skin! It's a tinted moisturizer with very sheer coverage and, sadly, only 4 shades. IDK. It seems like Maybelline products kind of go to extremes. Either they're good, or they're lousy. The lipsticks are also supposed to good, but I don't use them because they're all fragranced.
Tati complained about that foundation being dry on her. I commented about you saying that their was an ingredient that you said could be drying. I have oily skin, so for me, it may work. 😊 Thanks for the video!
Very, very interesting. Up until 20 years ago, I was a die-hard magazine consumer: Cosmopolitan, Glamour, etc., for well over 25 years. Whenever any professional MUA's were asked what they were never without, there are two items that I distinctly recall: Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizer, and Maybelline's Great Last Mascara. I came from the an era where everyone and their dog used Great Lash, and in the 70's and early 80's, it was fine. But I agree, on the whims where I have purchased it again, I remember thinking, "What was so great about this?" Now I know-- they changed the formula.
i have oily skin and i love the skin tint to use in certain areas of my face. its lasting power is phenomenal; when it sets it sets. but it is a super dry formula when it dries down so i agree with you in not recommending it for someone with dry skin.
It’s actually insane , it works so well for my lashes and nothing else compares. Same with dream matte mousse , the stuff is a beautiful match and gives me the natural matte finish I love. I definitely understand the hype .
I like it. Most mascaras are very gloppy, and look terrible, and you have to spend a lot of time with a spoolie, brushing them out to look natural. I don’t like mascara to look like I am wearing a ton of it.
I used it for years but I guess they changed the formula over the past few years because now it flakes off really bad now. I use Loreal Great Lash formula now.
The skin tint is amazing ❤❤❤ I would recommend prepping ur skin with a light serum and a hydrating lotion, then a primer like the Dior pink bottled one or the danessa myricks yummy one !
I loved the way that mascara looked on my eyes because my daughter recommended it… However, it left me with a horrible, red, bumpy rash when I was rubbing it on the side of my eyes… Never again
Jen you are absolutely correct about Maybelline Great Lash! I never ever could figure out the hype on this mascara. Same formula since I was a youngster and didn’t like it way, way back then, and now I’m an oldster and still does nothing for my lashes. I had to keep buying it over the years just to see if maybe they changed the formula, but nope, it’s still 💩 IMO. Max Factor was better than Great Lash all those years ago. Glad at least someone agrees with me about GL.🥰
I agree with everything that you listed Jen... I hate the Maybelline great lash and I'm not impressed with the surreal lash but I got the waterproof formula and someone told me that was not the one to get but I'm not going to spend more money to get the other. I bought the skin tint when it first came out because everyone went crazy over it...I was influenced! The only way I can make that tint work is if I put a hydrating oil on as a primer.
I might be the only one, but the eye shadow quad in Mocha Motion is my go-to for a quick eye look. I find the formula applies evenly without fall out, and the shimmer shades are subtle, not glittery. Maybe they changed the formula since I last bought one.
Totally agree with most of this. I love Great Lash waterproof for my lower lashes. I only use a tiny amount, but it works great. I also love the bigger eyeshadow palette that comes in the amber or pinky case. It has many eyeshadows in it, and it works great.
Have you tried the Nudes of New York eyeshadow palette? I don’t have it but I have heard that lots of people really like that one. Maybe the formula is different in it
I actually like that one but for some reason I don't see it in stores anymore, it seems like it's been discontinued. I'm not sure why they didn't make more palettes with that formula!
I AGREE about Great Lash!!! Never got the hype! Just about any Maybelline product I’ve ever purchased I’ve been disappointed in. There are so many other great drugstore options these days ☺️
Totally agree about maybelline shadows except for this discontinued one I still have and use every now and then from like 2012 (I believe it was their diamond quad range) it’s still so beautiful! Super stay face products are a no no in my book I’ve swatched them and they always feel so sticky to me . I have to disagree with great lash . It’s the best mascara I’ve used even high end brands are incomparable with it. That said different things work for different people I’m also forever in love with dream matte mousse. I’ve found 2 perfect shades (it’s spring here and I’ve tanned up fast so have switched from classic ivory to creamy natural it’s amazing ) and it give me the perfect natural matte finish I like and the texture is beautiful!
The Great Lash mascara is GREAT for blending your false lashes into your real ones. It doesn't make them clumpy at all. Also the waterproof version is bulletproof. Pro makeup artist here. I use it for bridal jobs.
There's a maybelline 4 quad that is dupe for one of Tom Fords. Great Lash was a must in the 70s...I know, not sure if they've changed the formula...most likely.
Great Lash was revolutionary in the 1970s. It was formulated with protein. It was my first mascara back in junior high school - yes, I'm old, LOL! It was a good starter mascara. I then strayed away when CoverGirl came out with their Professional mascara which was the first to have a curved brush. After that, I have tried this mascara and that. I still haven't completely settled on "the one" though after all these years.
Haven't liked any eyeshadow from Maybelline since their tattoo solo shadows. Nothing from their lips too since the 2010s. Wet n wild and Essence are my top affordable western makeup brands these days.
I am so glad to know this Jen. I have dry skin too and I don't really use the shadow sticks but I have used Maybelline mascara and lip products for a long time. I like Sky High better than the others. Thanks Jen.

I knew you were going to say the Great Lash mascara but it's my holy Grail. I've tried others both cheaper and more expensive and I keep going back to great lash. Just tried the ELF mascara that had good reviews....nope. It flakes on me and also n e v e r comes all the way off, can't figure that out. Seriously, I washed my face 3 times and it was still smudging under my eyes. I'm so mad I threw out my *mostly* empty Great Lash for this nonsense! I can't wait to get back to the store for more of my Great Lash!
I don't get Great Lash, this is the only influencer I've seen say anything negative about it! I'm relieved I'm not the only one. For me all it does is colour my lashes. It doesn't lift them even slightly, gives zero volume - just does literally nothing lol. So confusing. I've tried it a few times between 1997 - 2019 as well 🤷🏼♀️☹️
Never understood the hype around Great Lash. It does nothing for me. I don't find their eye shadows good either. I love love the skin tint though. I reach for it over many of my high end foundations. It stays put all day and has the perfect glow. I need to prep my skin well for it to perform well though. A hydrating serum and a good moisturizer do the trick. The L' Oreal serum foundation is not working for me. It breaks up and look very patchy after an hour or two. I also love Maybelline lipsticks and glosses, and I love the Fit me powder, both the loose and the pressed one. Last but not least, the Age Rewind concealer is wonderful.
I just recently bought some Maybelline quad eyeshadow and it is so thin you cannot see anything… However, when I was in college, I used to use this beautiful single buy them called Indian summer, but I can’t find it anymore… It was like a pearly silver, and it was perfect for the early 2000s it was just beautiful
I have one Mini City Palette and I LOVE it!! It's colors are "Chill Brunch Neutrals"... I love it. I'm going to have to get another one VERY SOON, I've hit pan on my favorite colors, and my most favorite is the darkest shade, it makes a great eyeliner for me! I've gotten alot of compliments and ladies often asking me often what brand of eyeliner I'm using.... I'm not... lol It's just a pretty shade of eyeshadow & an awesome lil angled brush! Result is the prettiest eyeliner and & makes my eyes *POP*!! I guess to each their own- What works for one woman may not always work for another woman. After all, We are ALL each such beautiful & unique creatures!! lol 🤗 Good Luck with whatever one you pick out! **SO rough being a woman in these days huh??!! lol 😉

I hardly buy anything Maybelline… unless it’s on clearance. I have two lifter glosses, I love them . I do love the Falsies Mascara.. but I’ll try others . Rimmel, Cover Girl … I go a little cheaper if I can .
I could t put my finger on it with the eyeshadows but you just confirmed it. I wish they would invest more into the the eyeshadows they are all so sheer and flat.
The only thing I disagree with is the eyeshadow quads. And honestly that’s just a select few of them. They definitely need to reformulate. I used to wear them religiously in high school. (2003-2007)
I wore them a lot too back in the day! 😊 I think they're not the most terrible thing in the world but they also don't compare to modern formulas like Colourpop for example.
The mascaras are not that great anymore they don’t come off easily with makeup remover I end up wasting 4 cotton pads and I still have some left on my lids so annoying

The lifter gloss is nice but has this smell and taste of something like vanilla and mint idk I can’t hardly stand the taste.

Maybe that was my problem! I love to layer mascara so maybe I put too much of the Surreal. I agree that the Benefit Fan Fest only needs one coat!

I didn’t have a problem with the foundation but I have oily skin. I’ve never tried any of the other products.

I used their eyebrow liner once for a brief period that I got from Amazon & it was bad !! It was very dry & spree brush was super hard , too ! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞

I don't like the new serum foundation, either. It may be because I have mature oily skin.
The only eye pallet I have is one of theirs sadly 😂

The purple tube mascara is the worst! Im gonna stick to essence 😅
maybe i should try the maybeline tint foundation, i need the alcohol to absorb my excess oils 😂
A lot of people with oily skin seem to like it so that makes sense!
I'm surprised that she didn't like the blue tube mascara because I've heard really good things about it from other people that have used it including Tati
I miss the old Maybelline. 😢 Idk what changed but they just don't hit good like they used to for me.
I don’t like maybelline products. Give me Elf, NYX and Milani any day!! I also love some of L’Oréal products
I hate Great Lash mascara. I've tried it numerous times over the years due to rave reviews, but nope. Just, nope.

Interesting how different our tastes can be. I have always liked the great lash mascara for the natural look it gives.
Great lash is awful, only mascara I have ever used that gives me panda eyes 🐼
