Calculator watch on both wrists seems irresponsible - you could break the internet!
It was a reckless move I agree.
Nick Murray, nothing says like the other people thinks like calculater watch, the guy in a custom 911... 😛
Schwarzkopf'ing :)
@@NickMurray I have some casio models too... cfx200 included. if you want, you can find FancySoapShop in Etsy. its my store. The watch is in perfect working order.
The original smart watch. Pretty neat!
Gotta love Casio watch. Actually Casio digital watch are back in trend now.
The data bank one is pretty sweet! You're making me nostalgic for the 80s and I wasn't even alive! Lol
Do not, under any circumstance, apologize for loving Casio calculator watches! They were, still are, and always will be, flipping awesome. The best feature of all is the sound of vaginas drying up all around you as you walk by. No charge for that one by Casio, mind you... Strap 'em on and wear 'em proudly my kiwi friend!
I used to think you were a pretty cool guy. Now I think you're a very cool guy.
I am wearing my ca851 now, i had it for christmas when i was about 12 years old , it was in the cuboard for about 30 years until i put some batteries in it and fired up without an issue, i think it has a bit of a star wars look to it, looks great with a black fine mesh strap, great video , cheers.
Dude, Im wearing one as I'm reading this!
I just got my 1st calculator watch today it's the CA-53W model. I love this thing.
Saw this video when i started studying.
Now i am almost an engineer and i grabbed an cfx-200 in great condition for 250 dollars on eBay. I love it
A month ago I bought a watch for the first time (had few gifted before) - Casio F-91 W. The classic, basic, crazy affordable casio watch and I LOVE it. Retro looks, so light on the hand, thin so I don't bump into stuff with it anymore. Casio watches rock.
shrek
Lol, I loved my calculator watch as a kid, driving around on my bike calling KITT.
Ha! I only owned one calculator watch but it came in handy during navigation school (USN) I wore it out. Now I'm a fanatic automatic watch collector. Yes, I have asked Nick what he was wearing before!
Tissot actually make some very good watches and the brand has a great history. The watch, nor the car, nor any other material thing makes the man. If that was the case, you wouldn't have the sort of subscriber base you've got. So it must be down to your personality.......that's the Rolex you possess.
These were the first "smartwatches". They were ahead of their time.
BTW, the pic of you with the full-on nerd outfit early in the video was priceless. Seeing that made my day complete.
The databanks were incredibly useful in their day, they now have the charm and nostalgia of all redundant tech, (until the phone battery dies, when they beome incredibly useful once more!) still good looking pieces today. Indeed might well re invest in one. Cheers for the post/review.
The best was the Casio calculator watch that could be programmed as a remote control for a TV and VCR. When I was in grade school and the teacher would play a movie, we'd constantly mess with the VCR; fast forward, slow mo, rewind, pause... Teacher had the IT guy swap out the VCR. Imagine her surprise when it kept happening :)
CA-851! That is the watch I have been looking for! Now the hunt begins..
Nick Murray - the Kiwi ArchieLuxury - just much less judgmental and with a true passion for what he chooses to publish. I'm always entertained.
ARCHIE LUXURY! CHEAP AND NASTY! legend tho JUST BUY THE ROLEX
nejjk: I agree Nejjk. Nick is always cool. His enthousiasm is contageous.
PHIST!
Everything that people like you hate about the ARCHIELUXURY channel is exactly what makes that channel great.
AC3!!!!
0:43 a black leather TIE sounds like that would be dope as hell. 😯
I CANNOT tell you how many times I sat in engineering review meetings back in the 80's when I worked at a computer company, named after a fruit, and numerous people's watches would sound-off beeping at the top of the hour... Except for those few who were off by a few seconds or so. It was funny to see who's watch was off, then we'd all laugh questioning their technical abilities. Yea, real funny stuff... Oh yea, I still have mine. lol!
I’ve had my ca53w calculator watch for roughly a year now and it’s absolutely amazing
Did you ever have the Casio wrist remote? I had so much fun when I was a kid with that walking into electronic stores or restaurants and changing the channels or turning off the tv. So many people thought their TVs were breaking it was hilarious.
I never had that one but my friends did : )
Yes, I had one and did that too! It was especially hilarious doing that at school while watching crappy education videos or whatnot
“Ladies form an orderly queue” hahaha! I’m a lady and I love my nerdy Casio 80s data bank Watch
Nicks watch reviews, we need more hahaha
Hi Nick, CFX is a great watch, congrats.
We have some common taste :)
1970 911 targa, 1993 Casio vdb-1000 & ia-1000 owner here.
I'm SOLD on the Tissot Touch (being an aviator an' all!) but your proficiency with the "number attack" leaves me in complete awe!! I can see where your many idle hours have been spent. The fanciest watch I ever had was the Citizen Wingman, complete with flight circular slide rule around the bezel. Not sure about that tie - a bit too Spandau Ballet for even me!
I have skills!
Wow, awesome collection Nick!
Great that you kept all your old watches and in good condition too
as an engineer i really appreciate this video- well done Nick- no where else on you tube can you find this topic
Great stuff Nick!! Always liked these in a really odd sort of way, can't remember the model I had but most from our generation have been through one or two of these hideous things!!
Love my Breitling Emergency super quartz! so cool having a elt on ur wrist! i wish i kept my old calc watch!
I had one! It held phone numbers, alongside reminder calendar!
The other day I was looking at the Databank DBC150! Oh the nostalgia :)
Very impressive colection. Congrats!
That's a glorious and rare DBC 600G or original 80's DBC 610G. You lucky bastard. I bought mine in 1984 for $350 and loved it to death for years. I so wish I had kept it.
I love that Tissot watch. Also, I just have to tell someone I just bought the ultra rare CA-503 a couple of hours ago, and you’re it! New condition. More money spent on it than I care to admit to. And now I’m trying to maintain control to refrain from buying an expensive old pre-production prototype swatch.
This video is so cool! Brings back memories....
That brought back some memories. I had a black one and I loved it!
I had a Data Bank watch in 1984. I drove 60 miles to get at a Sharper Image in Denver Colorado. What a great watch! I got so much grief for it but I did't care! It was awesome.
I love casio products, great video, great company.
I wear the gold data bank the most, Casio needs to step there game up and make a REAL gold version of that watch. I would buy that shit. 🙌🏼
I wear a Rolex Yachtmaster 2 and i love it but i remember those calculator watches, i must get one !
24 buttons, should have called it first gen Panamera
1:23 No, this is a Digital Electronic Watch with an Analog display
Great video ,, I have a dbc611e presume it’s from the 80s cheers Shane uk 🇬🇧 ,, I did have one when I was 18, ,,1982 thanks
Watching this video in 2020. I just bought the DBC-32 and I love it. I have about 12 Casio watches. Yes I might have a problem. Haha!
The Game 851 is awesome. Never could get one at an affordable price
I just got a cfx 200 it has been my dream watch for a while I think my next one will be a databank with a secret mode
Today I found out that calculator watches exists and are quite boring as a topic of conversation. Very enlightening Nick xD
I had the same watch the data bank DBC 610 but in black. My mate bought a radio watch from Argos it was yellow & cost £13 back in the day
I love Casio because they make stuff that works and lasts.
Great video!
Nick what would purchase that is out today ? Great vlog cheers
Nice retro calculator watch, Nick
Hey i just bought the gold one and i have a question. Is the part surrounding tue caculator supposed to be plastic?
I loved that game and won a lots of money at school in competitions with it.
Cool video Nick
Where do I find instructions to set the date on a Casio CA 851?
Will you be stocking mediums on your website? I need one.
I am 17 and I got a new databank and love it and the confused looks I get and little kids asking me If I use it to cheat on maths tests.
Did you figure out how to change the battery on the DBC-610? I have no one in my area that knows how do replace the battery.
Loving that early photo - what was the sign you are pointing at?
Wha--what IS THAT?
The CA-851?
....never even HEARD of that.
Crazy....
I jusy found this gold plated one 3228 version how much is it worth?
EPIC watches
I came to see the old gold calculator casio watch and then he she one from the future 1st
Nice and funny video :-) BIG Like!!! I Lived my Casio calculator watch so much when i was a kid in ground school, just ordered a new one jeahh
Always want one they still tuff
My coolest watch was the - Pulsar P2 watch James Bond Live and Let Die 1972 - I was 10 and sooooo cool.
I have a Data Bank but the new version, they are awesome and look the same!
Casio did it right with watches in the 1980's. : )
Do you have the Janus casio AT-550?
sorry.. but what model Porsche are these? i can hardly keep up these days
Any Seiko calculator watches?
I have a Casio cmd-40 that my father gave me as a birthday present in 2002, it has remote controller and calculator, I had a lot of fun turning tv's and vcrs off wherever I went, specially in school. Girls didn't like it.
Where did he buy this watch?
I wore the black plastic Casio calculator watch when I was a kid, I wasn't fancy like you with the gold one, HA HA. A few years ago I bought another one and it is sitting there new in the case in my closet, just as a piece of nostalgia. I moved onto the G-Shocks later on in my teenage years because I surfed and skated; fast forward years later and I own/owned lots of different high-end brands and I now wear the Apple Watch, even though I kind of hate it, it does have its uses. If I was to go back to a traditional watch it would be my Breitling or perhaps get a Bell & Ross. I also want to spend a ludicrous amount of money one day and buy a Lange.
I used to have the same watch like the gold one but in black.
Where i can buy this watch
Did you have shell suits in NZ? The perfect outfit for the G-shock Casio...
Great video, Ive got two that were gifts from my mum in the 80's. One has the game on like yours and the other had multiple alarms. I opened them to change the battery but for some reason the side buttons dont seem to spring back out now. Is there any guides on reassembling them? Id so love to be able to wear them again except the straps have perished now. Thanks very much.
I now have over 50 of these watches and repair them often. Are you in the US I can take a look at both for you.
@@NickMurray I'm afraid not, but thanks for the offer. I'm pretty good at repairing things normally which is why this is so frustrating. Maybe I could send you a video of the issue and you might be able to give me a clue 👍
I knew this watch video was coming.
My brother had a touch screen calc watch that stopped working when you scratched the screen. Considering how easy it is to scratch the screen ...
Can the battery of those smartwatch last 1 day? :D
What price is?
I miss the 1980's. I use Casio calculator watch in the year 2020. Casio digital watches are very good.
hello Nick, I am partha from India and I was interested in adding the DBC 610 to my collection of Casio, but unfortunately, only the 611 G models are available in the market now. Due to that, I don't want to buy it from any random online retailer because of its originality. Could you please suggest me a site or a contact from whom I can purchase the genuine DBC 610 Gold model? It would be of great help, thank you.
not that flashy? dude that is the coolest watch ive ever seen. id honestly love to buy that over something flashy
thats something a hipster would say
Casio scientific calculator watch = instantaneous PhD in physics and math. It’s a fact.
You need to be on "Talking watches" with Hodinkee hahaha
Loved these things when I was a kid. These days they remind of Dwight from The Office.
I'd rather wear a calculator watch then walk around and be seen with one of those huge iphones.
You should add a Seiko Astron GPS watch to your collection. Accurate time wherever you are using GPS signals.
is that water resist?
I had an original Black model. Wish I'd kept it like you did.
Good that they are still around. I picked one up at Walmart for 20 dollars.
How much horsepower do they have
Hey Nick I'm also a connoisseur of fine brands in both style and luxuriousness.....Porsche, Mercedes, Louis Vitton, Casio, Ralph Lauren, Sanyo, Service Merchandise, etc etc...the list goes on..... Nothing but the best will do. (Mike in Ohio)
More importantly, what watches do William and Albert own?
Thanks for this. I’ve got T-Touch Racing.
