35 years after it was released, you somehow managed to take my favorite song of all time (and IMHO one of the greatest pop songs ever) and you made it even BETTER. I honestly have no words.
I called my wife out to watch this. Although we know the 80's well, neither of us realised how layered the keys & guitars were in the versus. Love how you really swing the rhythm parts, absolute perfection. Your feel & timing is superb.
Thanks! I love this era of music, especially for how well everything is layered. Creates such interesting harmonic content when you have bands like this who know what they're doing!
The original guitarist (I think it was Roland) and also Curt's bass line, are quite impressive and have always made this song a joy for me to listen to .
Love your guitar take on the last section (in my minds eye)! Absolutely inspired variation from the original and I love it. Tremendous song in the first place. Hard to improve upon but clearly not impossible! Great job.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Triple M radio station in Sydney used to play Broken sometimes after Head over Heels and I would be ecstatic whenever they did. I didn’t think it could be improved on but as always, you took it to a new level. I hope Roland and Curt hear your version. I still have my LP after all these years and Songs From the Big Chair is definitely their best album. Broken is one of those songs best listened to loud and I love it at the end where there is the slightest of pauses then the crowd erupts. I just did silent applause to my cat and he gave me side eye. 😏🙄👏🏼
Great track, great playing and it illustrates how talented Roland is as a composer and as an electric guitarist. The songs sound seamless but there is so much complexity buried inside them. Thanks for posting. 👍😎🇳🇿✨🌹🎸
This is so great on so many levels! Love all your Def Leppard covers, and this is my favorite Tears for Fears song! To hear these worlds come together is refreshing and inspiring! Keep up the great playing!
Another great posting, Ben. You are a Master Class on the guitar and your interpretations and tones fit the tracks so well, they could have been studio on the originals. Truly, sincere thanks and congrats on your work, here. It is always a pleasure to drop by. And TFF is a favourite of mine. If you are still playing them, Break it Down Again would rip with your treatment! 😊 Cheers - 👍😎🇳🇿🏴🍺🍺
OMG this has been the longest two weeks of my life without you I'm so excited and happy you're back 👏👏👏👏👍Ben and then you play the extended version loving it you just don't hear these songs on the radio and it's good that you bring it back 💕🎸🎵 always a pleasure to hear you play please stay safe 🙏 your journey fan always and forever
I too prefer this rendition over the original studio recording. This is the first time I've heard this guy's guitar playing and it's so good, I immediately subscribed to his channel!
your arpeggios in the outro felt like i got punched in the guts. you deserve serious props for emulating so many of the synth parts but the simple parts are often the best. another amazing, amazing cover. thanks so much man.
Hello nice cover, I played this song with piano and drums, I don't know why but Tears for Fears have something special in every song, maybe the special feeling, from Guatemala City blessings!
I didn't realize The guitar part in this song was so varied and well thought out and adds to the overall magical sound of this song! Thank you for showcasing it!
@@bwm5150 I am so exciting that I found You.... ✨❤️ This is my first time to see that kind of Great Play ✨🎸Thank you again and again ❤️😀I felt in Love with your play ❤️
This cover is amazing!! Love the lepordizing and also reminds me of a whitesnake kind of guitar setting and also covered the bass section on 2:01 great job with that on the bass plus the playing would have made this a no.1hit back then
Thank you for FIXING this song! I'm old enough to remember when it came out. I understand you didn't want to turn it into a metal song. But... some of the new wave stuff, needed some beefing up.
I don't want it to feel like I fixed the song, I love Tears For Fears and this was just a chance for me to play over it and add some parts or bring out some of the keyboard parts on guitar. Thanks

Hello From Japan 🇯🇵
This guy plays perfection!
Defenitely you are not the only one. He plays the guitar like it should have been played on this track.
I love the addition of "Broken" here. It rocks.

Tears For Fears kind of went overr my head for the longest time. Then I watched Donnie Darko again. What a song.
Man, your covers are my principal influence of the type of sound i want to build. I love your playing, for real. Thanks for upload them.
I can't stop watching you play. To quote the music clerk from Wayne's World "You are like...amazing..dude"
Best guitar cover version of Broken.
I always loved the live version of Broken at the end. Such a catchy melody.

Yeah Roland is great! Not a lot of guitar in this, so I follow some keyboard bit, but when it is there it fits well. Cheers

Steve Clark would’ve pounded a few Open G power chords while Phil would’ve done the melody in the last bar.

I've added some of my own parts here. Leppardizing is my way of adding upon the guitar in a way that is reminiscent of Def Leppard.
