yes, trigger would be more suitable for it.
OPM season 1 is made by Madhouse (vietnam flashback to overlord season 3) but most of the good animations are made by Studio Bones.
Animations Trigger make is more "explosive" instead of more expressive or movement based like Bones. Way more suitable for Asura. plus their biggest trait is their art style and absurdness in terms of ideas and characters(basically Asura lol).
i think Studio Trigger can really bring Asura's Wrath to another level of awesomeness!! :DDD

I feel like there's a misconception:
Wizards, Elves, and dragons and albinos(plus Norse, Greek, Christian and Roman mythos) are western concepts because they're western. It's a culture thing, not necessarily something you'd see explored because it'd be too foreign. Just like how anime frequently portrays buddhism and hinduism, western media portrays the things we're used to. With the constant expansion of the anime industry in the west, however, it's slowly getting more and more into the minds of the peeps.
the difference is anime and Japanese games still use western influences for some of there fantasy be we seem to be stuck on elves and dwarfs
Dragons and wizards are not purely western, it’s that the west and east have different interpretations of those two things in terms of appearance and even abilities. The same way the phoenix for example, still shares the same universal concept of reincarnation/rebirth and flame, whilst being connected to different myths within Greek, Japanese and Chinese culture etc.

Anime especially nowadays is completely littered with western fantasy concepts just as much, if not more than eastern/asian ones. So much so that it's getting annoyingly repetitive seeing the exact same tropes and worlds in different shows just as mentioned in the video.

It's a shame Capcom threw their intended sequel into DLC hell, but I'm glad they got to tell the story they wanted to regardless. This game is one of my favourite animes.

As someone who actually did watch the cutscenes on RUclips a couple years back without having ever played the actual game, I wholeheartedly agree.
I mean, it could've been a decent game, had the developers actually intended to make one. I feel Capcom only released Asura's Wrath as a game because they were a game company, and as such, they felt like that was what they *had* to do.

Gonna have to disagree with you, the interactivity sold some of the moments for me. "Shut Wyzen up" wouldn't be the same without it and half the reason the scene the Chinese movie ripped off was so hype was because I was pounding those buttons along with Asura as he struggled. The actual gameplay segments weren't bad either, but pretty average.

There's just so much we could explore in the Asuras Wrath Universe.
This game is the interactive trailer to one of the most perfect anime shows we will never get. But god do we need it!

3:05: The answer to that question his simple, western devs are familiar, with those source materials for fantasy. A lot western game creators grew up with traditional Fantasy's inspired by things such as Dungeons and Dragons, and even authors like Tolkin. Because of this, a lot of fantasy games made in the west have familiar things that the west knows, such as Mages, Knights, Dragons and other things that are found in English or European cultures. And just like that Eastern country's ( Like Japan ) that grew up with access towards Shinto, Buddhist and Confuchinest beliefs are going to incorporate that into there fantasy's. Just look at a western MMO like Elder Scrolls Online and an eastern MMO like Blade and Soul, on paper these two games are the same thing, MMO's in fantasy settings with cool looking weapons, armor, character creation and even a narrative. However, both these games are different because, they take time to craft a mythos that is similar towards the cultures that they are aware off.
Well said, I would also add that quite a bit of the more popular non western fantasy settings like for example Dragon Quest also take quite a bit of inspiration from western fantasy and mythology which helps cement the fantasy stereotype, even with games like Blade and Soul and Asura's Wrath the ones that get really popular still tend to be more western inspired in some way.
That is the point though. The fact that they are so familiar with western fantasy as an inspiration makes western fantasy less fantastic. I have not seen wonder in western fantasy for so long. Western Fantasy is one of my favourite genres when it makes the world feel natural because I am so used to it that it is essentially a second non-fiction. If Fantasy writers want to truly make their art more out there, they cannot rely on what is so ingrained in our culture that we wouldn't bat an eye at it.
Taking from other cultures can yield such amazing results. Just look at Dark Souls: Myazaki ripped off of a culture he didn't understand and it was every kind of awesome.
I really don't get why the uploader sounds negative of the influence of Dragons, Orcs, Elves etc. Even putting Witcher in her list when the monsters/theme is far from generic fantasy. I get she want more 'religious fantasy diversity' but they do the same 'generic' theme because that's what they know when it comes to lore.

The guys making this are making a Dragon Ball ARPG later this year. Also, I prefer This style of QTE's over the pretentious David Cage or Telltale games style of Press X to Jason or Press X to prevent someone from becoming a Zombie.
Also, CC2 made the .Hack series, so they have Experience with it.

for that Series, it pretty much created the template of Power Stone esque anime licensed fighters that we see nowadays (Jump Force, J-stars, 7DS, Black Clover, MHA Ones Justice, ETC), but all of those games missed one of the main reasons the storm series is so notable. Their epic campaign modes, which instead of just retreading the story of the manga, decides to outright enhance the manga its based on, recreating the best manga scenes with a cinematic scope that would make GOW, MGS and various other "Cinematic experiences" jealous.
Case in Point. The Creator of Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto, has even stated that the Ultimate Ninja Storm series outright does his manga Justice better than even he himself can. When one of the most successful mangaka today says that, you know you have a good licensed game.

Try WH40K. It's got 4 enemy Gods that can never be fought or defeated, and puts the Marine back into super powered, genetically enhanced Space Marine? Did I mention you get to fight EVERYONE with extremely powerful weapons? XD

I loved Asura's Wrath, weak actual combat and all, the rest of the game made QTEs really fun.
I loved Asura's Wrath as well. It is definitely an underappreciated game but i understand why but man, those cutscenes, the story, characters, all of it was just so fun! I would love for a sequel (one in which we can obviously play more rather than watch) but it's probably not going to happen...Man...now i want to revisit this game.
I even loved the gameplay of the game. This game has been my favorite ever since I played it. It was original and something unique. I doubt something will top in years as it really isn't talked about much.
Personally i feel like both ways of experiencing the game have pros and cons. Just watching it lets you take it all in but if your someone like me who doesn’t mind button mashy gameplay it feels nice to break up the action with bits of gameplay, plus I actually really like the quick time events as weird as that sounds. Specifically the ones later in the game that really take it to the next level and it just goes friggin nuts with the prompts.
The fight betweeen asura and augus with the "allegro con fuoco" song, is one of the best things i've ever seen in a video game.period.

My brother loves this game to death and still talks about it. I don't blame him. This game's story is batsh*t insane and it's filled with awesome action. Little buffy guy punches big buffy guy in the finger and EXPLODES. The style is amazing. The humor is weird and I LOVE IT. The characters are memorable. Admitibly the final boss is worth the extra bucks and hes bassicaly GOD!!! This game is beyond amazing.

I still own and love this game, but I could never figure out what I didn't like about it. You so elegantly (and humorously) explained it all for me and I think I love you for it.
I might be in the minority on this one, but I actually think playing the game itself, adds something that you can’t really get by just watching the cutscenes. Having to do the QTE’s actually had me more engaged in the fights then I would of been if I had just watched it online. The core gameplay itself is nothing special, but I found playing the game on hard mode made me have to strategise and play more cautiously as oppose to just mashing buttons, which made getting to the QTE sections where I got to lay the smack down on these puny God’s all the more satisfying.

This made me realize why what I've seen of Kingdom Hearts 3 is so disappionting.
From all the crazy stuff in 2, the third one felt barely a step up, when the escalation curve from 1 to 2 suggested 3 should be more like Asura's Wrath.

I love JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. I like it a lot more than Dragon Ball Z. But Asura's Wrath has little to nothing in common with JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and a lot in common with Dragon Ball Z.

It has nothing in common with DBZ either. I mean, it took many episodes to transform into Super Saiyan. As for Asura's Wrath, it only took few seconds for Azura to transform himself. And there IS a similarity between JoJo and Asura's Wrath: some boss fights has ORA Vs MUDA moments.

@@crisgeraldperez7 hedonism inspired some jojo design like how the hand mark on jotaro hat but we can't about forget the enemy's poses as for dragon ball Asura turns nine tailed beast and shots a kamehameha and the final boss is like freiza in some ways especially how he's first forms are huge muscular but the final form is creepy skinny and menacing

I agree. That "game" will forever hold a special spot of uniquenesse. Asura's Wrath was all spectacle. And it was spectacle enough that I wanted to suffer through the gameplay for it.
Thank you for this, I remember watching the whole 5 hour video over 4 or 5 days as a kid because I only got an hour or so of electronics. You've brought one of the most unique forms of nostalgia back to me. Thank you.

Yep. I really loved this game. The concept and story is quite unique tbh. There's so many fantasy out there that doesn't explore other genres

Fantasy, by its literature origins, is generally European. Elves, Dwarves and Vampires are all Scandinavian mythology. There's a good reason why they're the tropes of the Fantasy genre.
