Loved the video, subbed. I may test that bowmar head out. They are pretty expensive, but look pretty awesome. I've shot the sevr head a lot. They do the job.
Thanks for the feedback and support. Yeah, I was impressed with the beast. I’m still going to use Sevrs as well…and going to try the megameats. Who knows…they’re all good…just fun trying new things out.
Did the Beast stay open all the way though the gel? If so, this would be the first test I’ve seen where it does. Ever other test I’ve watched shows that it closes in gel. If not, then that explains the deeper penetration.
Yes, it opened and according to my eyes, it stayed opened and remained fully opened. But, that’s always going to be a risk. With the Sevr…in previous tests…it did not fully open. Most mechanicals with a 2 inch cut have this as an issue. The Sevr 1.75 performs really well and seems to fully lock open easier than the 2.0.
@@butleroutdoors2188 Yes, when it locks it’s a great broadhead…but, I’ve found the 2 inch Sevr has trouble getting locked out. Great broadhead for sure.
Ive never seen a beast head deploy to ANYWHERE near their 2 inch claim after going into any gel (3 separate test,3 or 4 separate heads,3 diff folks testing…. ) Never open to full 2’..especially after going through bone before gel or other mediums. I dont think you need 2 inch blade to kill everything. Just saying thats whynit is penetrating sooo far. Your formula doesn’t equate for there spring (all though allegedly the spring is fast enough ) it definitely isn’t strong enough to open those blades back up in ballistics gell It be like shooting a mechanical with a 1/2 inch cut and you being impressed by the pentetration Next time show the wound channel and measure it throughout the length of the gel. Thanks for all the videos! They are awesome man! Keep it up!
Ehhh. Maybe for some situations. I shoot the Cutthroat or the Exodus fixed…but fixed rarely leave good blood trails and have smaller wound channels. I like today’s mechanicals and will always have some in my quiver. Best of luck this season.
@@HuntDetail Moving parts on a broadhead introduce variables into the equation. They suck energy from the arrow system just to deploy and God forbid you hit at a steep angle and one blade opens before the other. Blood trails are unpredictable no matter what head you shoot, especially with poor penetration. In 39 seasons of hunting whitetails my goal has never been to leave a blood trail, it has been and always will be an ethical harvest. That should be everyone's goal but good marketing wins out most often unfortunately. One of the best blood trails I have ever seen was a lone lung/iver shot by a buddy of mine with a small fixed 3-blade head. Keep in mind there are TV hunters and influencers that don't actually hunt with the equipment you see them advertise. I could mention a huge name in the industry who (after a few beers) told guys in hunting camp the broadheads he shoots aren't great, but "they cut me a six-figure check every year." I had another one tell me something very similar at the ATA this year about the heads I had with me vs. the mechanicals he shoots. Good luck to you as well.
@@PoeOutdoors yes, mechanicals have moving parts…you are correct. But that doesn’t mean that they are inferior. If you decide to tie a lego to the front of your arrow…then do it. awesome video dude!
Thank for the feedback. Best of luck this season!
I watched several where it didn't stay open lusk and my favorite blue collar outdoors
Which one?

The sevr locks into the open position and although the “locked” position might be just shy of 2”, it cuts larger when going through a media.

Better go check Blue collar outdoors test on the beast broadhead .
Best of luck this season!
The beast definitely interests me but I love the sevr broad heads
I’m a fan of both. Both are excellent in my opinion. Best of luck this season!
Great video
Thanks for the feedback and support!
No one really talks about the price difference
Yeah, I post that in the notes. Of course, that’s easy for folks to figure out.
Lusk archery loves the sevr also all his tests. I don't think the beast did as well
Yep, they are both solid broadheads that will kill deer.
The sevr 1.5 and 1.75 heads are great

I like to try the 1.5 sevr for compound and traditional archery. I would think a 50 lb trad bow should work?!!?

Idk how when people kill elk moose and everything else with both and I also killed 4 deer with the sver 1.75 and all deer went 60 to 80 yards
