I have sent more Magnus heads down range than anyone. You were right, they will out penetrate most anything. However to say that they are only best for low poundage or traditional shooters is entirely wrong. I have tested them out to 100 yards out of the fastest crossbows and have multiple videos proving that they fly great. evry head is tuned to within 0.003" of the true centerline so if your bow is tuned and you are in a properly spined arrow they will fly great. The Magnus heads have taken every game animal on the planet, including dangerous game. Blood trails are generally great and more dependent on the shot than the type of head. If you are getting noise in flight then it is abtune issue and not the head. I have done extensive testing on noise in flight and looked at sound wave profiles. 100% made in the USA and no BS lifetime warranty.
From what I have seen most cut on contract have an issue with blood trails. And I would guess he is talking from a compound bow as I do not believe where he works sells cross bows. And have always had more noise out of vented heads then non.
Guys he was just giving his opinion. You can kill a deer with a field point if you want all breadheads are lethal its just a self preference and that's why you wanted this video
Our whole family shoots Magnus Broadheads. My husband shoots 70# with his fast Hoyt and Magnus Stinger Buzz Cuts fly great. I also shoot Magnus Stinger Buzz Cuts at #40 and get complete pass through on wild cattle, big hogs, sheep, goats. We've been shooting Magnus Broadheads for over 20 years and always will.
My magnus black hornets shoot like lasers out of my 70# halon 32. I’ve been using them for 6 years now and haven’t turned back. I use to shoot over the top deploying grim reapers but magnus is where it’s at for me.
Black hornet ser razer worked good on a hog two weeks back, pass thru and didn't go 20. I did have to sharpen it tho. I also took a doe with Hades Pro 3 blade, pass thru and head looks new after. Maybe cuz hog vs deer but the whole from the 3 blade looked massive. Also, the magnus is definitely loader, still going to keep using it but only for 30yrds and under.
QAD Exodus in my book is the best head on the market. Good price and durable. I took a deer a week ago with one full blade, hit the scape and a rib and still buried the arrow a foot in the ground. She didn’t make it 20 yards before she was down.
Great video. I like all the broadheads you mentioned. Shot Grimm reapers for years with good success, I have since switched to sevrs and they have quickly become my all time favorite head, only reason I switched from the Grimm reapers is that I had one break in target and lost confidence. The sevrs have flown better and from my experience hold up better. However being a local Utah boy I’ll always have love for Grimm reapers made locally.
Good video as most of yours are. However, o I’ll have to argue one comment you made on the Magnus Stinger buzzcuts. I’m running them at 290fps and they hit with my field points out to 80 yards without issue. They are no louder than standard blazer vanes either. They are also made in the USA, as you made a comment on the others. One other key aspect of Magnus, lifetime warranty. A ding or bent blade and they’ll send you a brand new head for free… tough to beat imo.
I have shot the qad exodus for a decade now, have taken lots of elk, moose deer and bear, they are amazing, really tough penitration is great and leave good blood on the ground
Hey dude. Solid video and reviews, I’d disagree on the Magnus broadheads, I personally know many hunters that use them shooting 270+ fps. Love the heads personally. But no disrespect, thanks for the video!
Love watching your reviews man. The grim reaper in my opinion is the best mechanical on the market. But the blade retention spring has no relation to the tip. The blade has to contact the hide to open. Just simply pull off the retention cup at the base of the head and you’ll see how the blades have a groove the spring sits in. The angle at the front of the blade is what deploys them.
I won’t use anything other than the Grim Reaper 1 3/8” for whitetail. Set my new Spot Hogg up with my field points this summer and when I switched the broadheads, never had to adjust a thing. Clean entrance and exit holes but when I gutted my deer last week I took the lungs out in chunks. Shot it at 41 yards and it was running dead, didn’t go 20. Love them.
I love my Grimm Reapers , knocked 2 bulls down so far complete pass though and watched both drop within aprox 20 yrds. (Pro tip 3 blade) (510gn arrow at 285fps) will use them next year also
Another way to compare flight characteristics is to consider how well practice field points fly for two basic reasons- small conical design and little to no wind guidance issues really no matter the arrow speed. The smaller fixed blade IMO is in the long run a better option. It’s just a simpler efficient head. The better quality steel heads can be sharpened very easily to almost a razor edge. In all honesty I’ve never even tried killing anything with any mechanical but I have shot them to play with flight characteristics. But my experience with fixed blade heads started in 1963 and they just keep on working flawlessly.
When I dove into archery hunting 4 years ago I didn't think I'd ever shoot a mechanical. I shot two turkeys with fixed heads with good results, then a third turkey with a 1-1/4" 3 blade mech and it did great. I shot two smaller whitetail with Exodus last year and was super impressed with the holes they left, and I shot both deer with the same head (resharpened in between). This year I shot a big doe with a Tooth of the Arrow 1" solid 4 blade and double lunged her. She only went 35 yards, but no blood trail, and the holes weren't as big as the Exodus. Magnus Black Hornet is my second favorite fixed blade I've tried so far, but I really want to try the Micro Hades 4 blade. I also decided to try mechs on deer this year. First up is the Grim Reaper Pro 1-3/8 (bought from Bow Rack) like you showed, second up is Sevr 2.0. I also got some Whitetail Specials for turkey season. Can't wait to see how they perform!
I can tell you there is nothing wrong with how magnus heads fly. I have tuned hundreds of bows by now and have shot magnus at distances over 100 yards without issues.
Thanks for the great info. I always heard that the Reapers were great but now I know why. I currently shoot the magnus stinger buzzcuts and have experienced what you talked about. 28" draw, 60 lbs. some flew great, some wouldn't fly straight, and were noisy. Double lunged a doe a few weeks ago and watched her drop. The blood trail was non existent.
Great video on broadheads. I tried the hades pro 3 blade 2 weeks ago & worked great for me on a Doe, she went down in about 50-60yrds. I took a 120lb pig with the Magnus black hornet ser razer same weekend, pig went down in less than 20. Both were pass thru, buried half the arrow in mud, and both look brand new.
I've been rockin the Sevr heads last couple years. They swivel through ribs or off bone and don't deflect like some others! Very sturdy too. I do know grim reapers have great reviews and flight as well. The 3 blade design is really tempting for me, the spring deployment is genius!
@@cameronhead4086I’ve been using Sevr’s and I think the 1.75 would be just fine with a 55lb bow. I started with the 1.5’s, and of course they blew right threw the doe I shot no problem. I now shoot the 2.0 titanium’s, and don’t have any issues with them either. Granted, I am at 70lbs, but you’ll still be just fine with the 1.75s. There’s many other factors that will play into how much penetration you have of course too. Draw length, arrow weight, FOC, etc.
Hard to beat a solid piece fix blade broadhead out of a well tuned bow. Been shooting Montecs for years and made the plunge into Annihilators this fall. Absolutely destroyed my Iowa buck this past Friday. Slightly quartering to at 15 yards. Took out top of heart, lungs, and exited out of the liver. Pouring blood out of him all the way till he hit dirt 100 yards later. I wish I would have taken pictures of the blood trail considering the sub 1 inch cutting diameter - needless to say I am thoroughly impressed.
Like every broadhead there are negatives. I shot a cougar with a whitetail special. High lung. Broke one blade on rib upon entry one did not open and only one blade opened. (Confirmed when recovered cat.) would not recommend due to quality of steel and blade opening issues. Setup was 72lbs bowtech realm sr6 28.5 draw and 660 grain arrow.
I've been using the same 3 blade grim reapers and the QAD. I've had good luck with them, but I have lost blades off the QAD on through bone quartering away shots. I still think it's probably the best replaceable blade fixed head out there. The VPA 2 and 3 blades are one piece and what I use for traditional. Those and the other one piece, machined, heads are the most durable option.
Great video and super helpful, no nonsense information Kellen, as always. A question if i may; If memory serves correctly, Muzzy was a name in fixed blades that we commonly saw a lot of a few years ago....are they not considered a very good blade anymore compared to newer generation products, or what's your thoughts on that? Also, what's your thought on the 'Wasp' Drone blades? ...100 gr. specifically. Thanks in advance if you're able to reply. Stay well and keep up the great work, i always enjoy watching your vids.
Could you maybe make a video about building a good hunting arrow, you know, from the start, choosing the right shaft, vanes, nock etc..? I've read quite a lot about it, but I feel the more I read, the more confused I am, I'd really like to hear your take on it and I have a feeling I'm not alone. Thanks for the great videos, greetings from across the pond.
I would challenge your comments about the Magnus Stinger Buzzcuts. They claim to fly as well or better than any mechanical broadhead from any bow and that has been my experience. Also, I haven't noticed the flight noise you mentioned. Have you personally experienced the weird flight and noise that you mention? Plus, Magnus stands behind their products with a lifetime replacement warranty.
If you are hearing noise out of our Magnus Stinger Buzzcut there is something wrong. Also Our Stinger and Stinger Buzzcut broadheads have been shot out ofcrossbows shooting 400 feet per second. The reason is we dial in every single broadhead so the total tip runout of the broadhead is within .003 thousands of a inch for excellent flight. Thank you
@@MagnusBroadheads Off topic here but, I've got kind of a weird arrow/insert combo I really like. Any chance at all Magnus would make a Black Hornet in 85 grains? I love the Stingers, I'd like to try the Hornets. I can easily go 100 grain but, like I said, I just really like the 85 on what I'm shooting. Thanks.
Taken many of animals with the Grim Reaper 125 Pro 3 Blade. I do see comments all the time about people shooting deer and finding one inside the deer from past hunters. Those shots must of been from underpoundage bows. If you are not shooting minimum 60# with 450 grain arrow, use a cut on contact or sharp fixed blade broadhead. Grim Reapers do need power to deploy and cut properly.
Dud....... not sure how much testing you've done yourself with the Magnus Buzzcut but your so wrong about accuracy at high speeds and the lethal power they carry. I've played with the buzzcuts 100gr out to 120 yards and 330 fps. Pure enjoyment and absolute accurate broadhead. 7 big game animals from 8yrds to 77yrd mature mule deer have all died in sight.
So I watched your video on peep size figure mine is to big so I went to the pro shop told them I wanted a smaller one he said that the one I had was right I have a ton of daylight showing
Thanks for sharing but wanted to add a bit more context. My 125 grain Magnus Stinger 4 blades have produced massive blood trails from deer & bear using either my Oneida Eagle Bows #70 lbs or my Excalibur Crossbow. With the lethality of the Magnus Stinger broadheads along with the many shooters of that broadhead; it is probably not a good idea to classify it as a kids or low poundage broadhead. It is a great broadhead that will get the job done if you shoot low poundage in addition to Magnus being made in America with a Lifetime Warranty.
I’m not trying to classify it as a women’s or kids head, but a head like that is a Berger idea for women and kids because of the cut on contact blade. Of course anyone can shoot them, but not not everyone should be running a mechanical
I had a grim reaper whotetail special open up in flight and hit a quartering away deer at 18 sideways. Ripped a lip oh hole in the hide and bounced off after hitting it in the arm pit. One of the blades slot through the ribs. The blade also slit the liver and lung. Deer went over 500 yards before I found it dead. Looked like I threw a grenade at it with the huge rip along its side. Grimm reaper even told me it opened in flight and defected after sending in photos to them. I’m sure you can find pictures of it in the Internet. I also had many of the rage xbow red collar heads never open going through 5 deer, a turkey, and a grey Fox. All arrows found with in the deer or stuck in the ground with the collars still in tact.
Last year I fucked up my back and was forced to use a crossbow had a deer that was quartered at me and was using expandable never have I seen so much devestation blew through it’s front side right shoulder and went through it’s fricken hip bone and exited on the left side never found the arrow deer didn’t go anywhere
Hey running with the Annihalators 125g, haven't had a chance to shoot anything with them yet but hoping to this whitetail season. Really liked the look of the fixed/mechanical you talked about, definitely something i will keep in mind if these don't work out. Have used the Magnus Buzzcuts and Wasps previously and didn't like how cheap they were, they dont stand up to hitting anything hard.
I shoot a Simmons swamp shark it has a 1 5/8 cut out of my V3 27 at 276 ft with no problem arrow spin an tunning is key. So magnus broadheads can't be that bad
Our broadheads have been shot out of the fastest bows an compounds in the industray with no issues. If your bow is not turned or your not using the correctly spined arrow- no they are not going to fly. if you cannot get our broadheads to shoot at long distances out of the fastest bows on the market it either is not turned or your arrow spine is to weak
I was recently suggested to try the grim reaper micro hybrids for Elk and Deer since I had a rough time with trailing my Bull even with a complete pass through on a fixed head. My setup is: 70 lb bow / 29’ draw length / 480 grain 5mm arrows that include an frontal insert. What are your thoughts?
Valkyrie heads are amazing heads as well. I think majority of b heads that are over 40 bucks are gonna be great. I personally use the grim reaper micro hades and love them to death.
I think requires a minimum of 60 ft/lbs of kinetic energy, though I’d never recommend one to someone with that little kinetic energy. I’ve never heard of a wicked ridge 400 arrow and would need to know more about your draw weight and draw length to make any assumptions on weather or not I think they’d be good option for you
Yeah they’re not meant to shoot foam haha. Unfortunately, they’re a “one and done” when it comes to hitting stuff. But they do a lot of damage when they do!
Your claim on Magnus heads being good for women and children and traditional is ironic as if it's a good head for low poundage and short draw shooters then it's an excellent head for everyone as well. Also, I shoot Magnus out of a crossbow at over 400 fps, Buzzcuts as well as Black Hornets and both fly like a bullet out to over 80 yds. I shoot them out of my compounds as well at 280fps and over and they are like a laser and very quiet. As far as blood trails being not very good, this depends on where you hit an animal now doesn't it. The best testimonial is that Magnus has taken every game animal on the planet including Africa's big five as well as the artic big two.
I use rage hypodermic NC 125 grain crossbow tips and I need to find replacement blades the replacement blades that I got do not match up with the original ones that came in the 3-pack that I bought from the store can someone please help me with finding the right blades they are shorter and heavier than the originals
If you're hunting deer sized game then I'd look at the sevr 1.5. I've had great luck with them out of my 60lb bow, but the IBO for mine isn't much over 300fps. If you have a 50lb bow that ibos around 340fps you'll probably be similar to my speeds, as I also shoot a 29 inch draw. The only deer I haven't had a pass through on was a doe that I hit the shoulder blade and then lodged into the spine. All shots that haven't hit the spine, even some that have gone through shoulders, has passed through completely. My arrows are around 410gr.
Thank you for your video but i have to totally disagree with your analyis. Our broadheads are shot mainly out of crossbows and compounds. You are wrong sir. Look at our magnusbroadheads youtube channel and see. Everything you said about our Magnus broadheads is not correct other than the part on good penetration. If we relied on the traditional bow market we would not be in business for 39 years.
I shoot 150 gr. magnus stinger buzz cuts… 70lb Matthew vertix… I’ve taken 5 deer with em… I’ve never not had an exit hole… blood trails are much better when there’s an exit hole… also farthest I’ve had a deer go has been about 60 yards…really easy to track when u hear em go down.
I've had issues with your broadheads about 90% of the time. Most of the issue is accuracy. Every other broadhead (that I tried) shot very well. He is definitely right with the velocity thing, those things make a ton of noise and plane like no other. They're perfect for long bows/low poundage compounds, in mine and many others opinions.
@@anythingoutdoors0 I haven't had any make noise and plane off and been using them for 7 years. My setup is 29" at 69lbs. Great broadheads in my opinion.
Lol weird. Shot my first 5 deer with exodus-basically no blood trail. Have hunted with grim reaper whitetail specials and Magnus Stingers for 3 years. the Magnus have had damn near as much of a bloodtrail as the grim reapers
I'm not really sure where you're getting your assumptions from on the magnus broadheads; basic physics does not relate to your high speed comment nor is any big game animal going to hear the buzzcut coming. Yes you may get a slightly smaller entrance/exit with a stinger than you would with a wider cut broadhead but i think most people would agree that having a pass through is much easier to trail. I appreciate your video but i think you're basing a long of your information on a very small sample size. I've shot 280-310fps over the last 15 years and have used magnus broadheads; never an issue that relates to speed. I've also never had a blood trail issue since almost all of my kills had clean pass throughs.
Sound travels much faster than any arrow. Why do you think so many whitetails react to the shot before the arrow reaches them? As for issues with the length of the Magnus, try shooting groups at 60 yards as well as 20 or 30 and I'd bet you'll see the negative effects. Of course most people have no business shooting game beyond 35 or 40 yards so the Magnus would be fine in the real world for the vast majority of situations.
Have you looked at swaker. Has about of the same benefits in the design but does require a band and a smaller entering hole. I've had lots of good results with them on whitetail.
I had major problems with grim reaper (whitetail special) broadheads. Beware, they have a tendency to open at release, throwing your arrow all over the place. Just my experience.
Cool vlog dude, and very useful 👍 information about the various broadheads that you have explained there. I would like your recommendation for my setup. I have a 27.50 draw length and I pull 68.8 lbs of draw weight what would you recommend for me and why. Keep up the great videos you put out. 👍
@@InsideOutPrecision yes it's tuned. 70# 29 inch draw pse omen. Arrow is rip tko 340 with a 50 grain outsert. 100 grain grim reaper never made a pass through. Double lung but made it a very hard track. Switched to a g5 mega meat, going to try that out
Magnus black hornets are one of the best heads on the market. This is a croc of shit, my Bow and xbow shoots them perfect. My ass is color blind and these leave better blood than rage cause you always have 2 holes😂
This was a bit informative. Flight and penetration are the top factors in killing large animals. I started with mechanicals and switched to fixed blades and have indeed gotten much better penetration. Recently began studying Ed Ashby's work after killing over 10,000 animals with all sorts of data points and the data does not lie. Any moving parts on a broadhead, reduce the overall integrity of the arrow system and the success rate of ethically killing large game decreases exponentially. I've killed some very large bucks with very thick skeletal structures and I highly doubt that any mechanical can blow through a shoulder without getting stopped in the deer and with no exit wound, no arrow and almost no blood, it's a recipe for coyote food. After seeing leg bones and shoulder blades cleanly sliced through and getting complete pass throughs, I'll never go back to mechanicals. Also, Heavier arrows with between 18-27% F.O.C. offer the very best penetration results, hands down. Troy Fowler and Ed Ashby have created major hemorrhaging in the mechanical markets by presenting more field data than has ever been put together in the history of bow hunting. I recommend looking at some of the results he's uploaded on his RUclips channel, Ranch Fairy
Total bs. I shoot rage broadheads and have never had an issue with deployment. Never had penetration issues nor blood trail issues. Bear, elk, deer. 2 blades penetrate better.
The main reason that fixed blades work better with low poundage is because fixed blades penetrate better, period. No matter what the poundage, a fixed blade doesn't have half the weaknesses of a flapper
Is there a broadhead out there that is cut on contact with a rear deploying mechanical? I do not want any part of a mechanical system that has to flip because of the energy loss and penetration loss. So would a muzzy with four blades and a 1 inch diameter be considered 2 inches of cut surface be similar to a mechanical two blade with 2”of width? 3&4 blades at least cut across the grain of the muscle And a better chance of cutting a major artery or vein. Not?
Yeah this line isn’t meant for cross bows. Those are nearly 200fps faster than most compounds. My bow is shooting 290 and my Pro 3’s absolutely punished 3 deer and a bull last year so I’m not sure what exactly you mean.

The hybrid or fixed ?
Magnus broadheads are my go to fixed blade, I’m still testing mechanical broadheads .
The thumbnail should be "Grim Reaper vs Rage"🤔🙂
qad exodus for me, no reason to change...hit the the spot as my field points. I was thinking sevr at one point, little bigger hole but not yet.
I love your vids. I shoot the grim reaper and always watch them drop. They fly extremely well.
Been shooting Thunderhead 100’s since they came out. Also really like the G5 Montec and NAP Hellrazor broadheads. Never been a fan of mechanicals!!
Thank you
@@MagnusBroadheads
Off topic here but, I've got kind of a weird arrow/insert combo I really like. Any chance at all Magnus would make a Black Hornet in 85 grains? I love the Stingers, I'd like to try the Hornets. I can easily go 100 grain but, like I said, I just really like the 85 on what I'm shooting.
Thanks.
Good video.
Lots of love for the magnus black hornet. Those things do some damage
QAD Exodus is the winner of them all
Honorable mention (MONTEC G5) fixed blade
Taken many of animals with the Grim Reaper 125 Pro 3 Blade. I do see comments all the time about people shooting deer and finding one inside the deer from past hunters. Those shots must of been from underpoundage bows. If you are not shooting minimum 60# with 450 grain arrow, use a cut on contact or sharp fixed blade broadhead. Grim Reapers do need power to deploy and cut properly.
If it ain't a Grim reaper broad head, you ain't watching them drop! Woooo!
Sevr’s for sure.
if my draw is 26 1/2 at 65 lbs, would you recommend these mechanicals?
Only mechanical i will shoot are sevr. Locked and swinging blades. No deflection
NAP spitfires also have a spring like the grim reapers. Grim reapers probably have a better ferrule, though
Dud....... not sure how much testing you've done yourself with the Magnus Buzzcut but your so wrong about accuracy at high speeds and the lethal power they carry. I've played with the buzzcuts 100gr out to 120 yards and 330 fps. Pure enjoyment and absolute accurate broadhead. 7 big game animals from 8yrds to 77yrd mature mule deer have all died in sight.
I've been trying the sevr 1 1/2
So I watched your video on peep size figure mine is to big so I went to the pro shop told them I wanted a smaller one he said that the one I had was right I have a ton of daylight showing
What difference does draw length make? Isn’t the poundage the measure of energy transfer?
All the things you said are on point!
I love the truglo titanium 4 blade.
Do you know of a sharpener that will sharpen a Muzzy or Innerloc broadhead with replacement blades???
Man, you kicked the hornet's nest. Good video.
Do you have an opinion on grim reaper hybrids vs pro series micro hybrids? Thanks you for the video!
Kellen it's Ron wades friend. I met you couple weeks ago was curious what fixed broadhead would recommend for elk
I’ve always had great luck with the QAD exodus
I shoot a Simmons swamp shark it has a 1 5/8 cut out of my V3 27 at 276 ft with no problem arrow spin an tunning is key. So magnus broadheads can't be that bad
Our broadheads have been shot out of the fastest bows an compounds in the industray with no issues. If your bow is not turned or your not using the correctly spined arrow- no they are not going to fly. if you cannot get our broadheads to shoot at long distances out of the fastest bows on the market it either is not turned or your arrow spine is to weak
Have you ever seen or used the sevr broadhead could you do a review on them
The best way to fix mechanical broadhead penetration issues is to use a flat bow with heavy arrows. ;)
What is the inertia required to trigger the blade release on the grim reaper? Would a wicked ridge 400 x bow trip it at launch?
I think requires a minimum of 60 ft/lbs of kinetic energy, though I’d never recommend one to someone with that little kinetic energy.
I’ve never heard of a wicked ridge 400 arrow and would need to know more about your draw weight and draw length to make any assumptions on weather or not I think they’d be good option for you
Lusk Archery Adventures. His channel has all the information you need.
The Hybrid G.R. i shot at a foam target broke on the first shot...that was the last GR i shot... just sayin!!
Yeah they’re not meant to shoot foam haha. Unfortunately, they’re a “one and done” when it comes to hitting stuff. But they do a lot of damage when they do!
What is your thoughts of the 4 blade Hades vs 3 blade hades?
Haven’t ever tried the 4 blade.
What’s the best broad head for a 55 pound bow thinking about sevr or g5 deadmeats
I wouldn’t run an expandable with only 55lbs. They require more horse power
It is more about shot placement than anything else
I use rage hypodermic NC 125 grain crossbow tips and I need to find replacement blades the replacement blades that I got do not match up with the original ones that came in the 3-pack that I bought from the store can someone please help me with finding the right blades they are shorter and heavier than the originals
Are you shooting them out of a crossbow? Or a compound bow
@@InsideOutPrecision crossbow
@@isaacdingeldein3322 not sure what to tell ya. I don’t know diddly about crossbows
I've heard horror stories with grim reapers
Sevr though are awesome
Would you say that 50lb with a 29 inch draw is too low for a mechanical? I'm not sure because my poundage is relatively low but draw is long.
I have video proof of the magnus “noise”.
ruclips.net/video/mBJnFI-fMw0/видео.html
@@anythingoutdoors0 I haven't had any make noise and plane off and been using them for 7 years. My setup is 29" at 69lbs. Great broadheads in my opinion.

@@WesternNyBigfoot. The full blades are not considered barbed in any state. I’ve checked!
id put my money on a sevr over a grim reaper for durability and not deflecting. but grim reaper is probably second in my opinion for mechanicals
Lol weird. Shot my first 5 deer with exodus-basically no blood trail. Have hunted with grim reaper whitetail specials and Magnus Stingers for 3 years. the Magnus have had damn near as much of a bloodtrail as the grim reapers
I have grim reaper tips and shooting out a 70 pound bouw and they never open for me
@@derekkelley1618 they do open, they can’t not. They just close up after they go through the target/animal. It shows it in the back of the packages
Omen review?
Tooth of the arrow done conversation over
Smallest wound channel I’ve ever seen was from one of those, but could have just been that one.
Have you looked at swaker. Has about of the same benefits in the design but does require a band and a smaller entering hole. I've had lots of good results with them on whitetail.
Is this a re-upload or am I trippin?
Nope just filmed it
Should have mentioned Iron Will.

@@michelleruger9394 I’ve killed two bulls and three bucks with them haha.
I had major problems with grim reaper (whitetail special) broadheads. Beware, they have a tendency to open at release, throwing your arrow all over the place. Just my experience.

How so the grim reaper broadheads work with crossbows ? What broadhead would you recommend for them ?
Never even held a crossbow. Not the guy to ask unfortunately!

Cool vlog dude, and very useful 👍 information about the various broadheads that you have explained there. I would like your recommendation for my setup. I have a 27.50 draw length and I pull 68.8 lbs of draw weight what would you recommend for me and why. Keep up the great videos you put out. 👍
I've had nothing but problems with the grim reapers. Never have good penetration
Is your bow tuned? Also what’s your draw weight and draw length? Not saying I don’t believe you, but here at the shop we have never had an issue
@@InsideOutPrecision yes it's tuned. 70# 29 inch draw pse omen. Arrow is rip tko 340 with a 50 grain outsert. 100 grain grim reaper never made a pass through. Double lung but made it a very hard track. Switched to a g5 mega meat, going to try that out
@@MrBirdman78 weird, I’ve blown through elk and deer no problem
Magnus black hornets are one of the best heads on the market. This is a croc of shit, my
Bow and xbow shoots them perfect.
An animals lungs will collapse with any size hole put through them. Shoot fixed heads
Total bs. I shoot rage broadheads and have never had an issue with deployment. Never had penetration issues nor blood trail issues. Bear, elk, deer. 2 blades penetrate better.
@@cksmith74 they’re about as sharp as a butter knife l.
@@InsideOutPrecisionhaha
Not?
Tooth of the arrow is machine one piece steel 4 blades try them they are Great broadhead just like QAD exodus
Grim reapers are trash for fast shooting bows/crossbows
Yeah this line isn’t meant for cross bows. Those are nearly 200fps faster than most compounds. My bow is shooting 290 and my Pro 3’s absolutely punished 3 deer and a bull last year so I’m not sure what exactly you mean.
