    I wish this video was out when I bought my stove, but I still probably would have gone with the Lite outdoors stove. Very happy with it, though Ive only used it a bit. A bit finicky to put together, but Im confident I can do it easily in the cold as it doesn't use as small of parts as some of the other options. Also, it has rods that span the length of the stove to provide rigidity but also function as pot supports. I was able to boil water with a very hot fire. Box stoves would be able to boil water with a cooler fire, Im sure, but the Lite Outdoors did the trick.

      Wow. I wasn’t aware of that regarding the antenna. Never saw an anything pointing that out. I wish I had. Even on the site, it looks like a rod that simply screws into the outlet. Regarding the data, I examined what was online with the Rival. Thats interesting if the prices are different, etc.

      @@HuntDetail yes sir! We have a lot of content around best practices with cell cameras and one of the tips is always to turn the antenna so it folds away from the tree if a critter or anything would try to grab it. The data plans will be 40-50% cheaper than the SCOUTEK plans with the addition of unlimited! We haven’t made it public because the app just isn’t quite ready! Should be within the week though

    I am going to switch back to Moultrie mobile. I tried them last year but the cheaper camera I bought had terrible photos. But the 16AA batteries is so awesome the cameras last for months and months. That’s my favorite part. I stuck with stealth cameras originally because their customer service was good but I recently had multiple cameras die a they would t do anything for me and they are less than a year old. They actually told me to remove the camera then re add it after I removed it I couldn’t get it to add back on to my app and because of that they refused to replace the camera. Because they said they couldn’t prove it was mine. 😂

    I have a gen 1 reveal and have had it forever almost 4 seasons with a solar panel and have been pleased. But in the last year bought 2 Camojojo trace cameras. I know it’s an off brand but don’t sleep on them lol. I have solar panels on both and they have been my favorite camera ! Videos count as pics ! They are only 10 seconds but trigger speed is fast and hd video requests are cheap ! So for example a mid priced monthly plan is 7.99 and you get 800 videos or pics . It comes with hd request as well. But for an additional 4.99 you get 100 hd request that can be shared with your other trace cameras. Has in my opinion an unbreakable antenna cause it’s different than a standard one. 2year warranty. Only downsides are the 10 sec videos but I haven’t had an issue with it being only 10 sec. They currently only run on att. But I have them in places that don’t have great att coverage and I get great coverage with the cameras. Definitely check them out and check out some RUclips reviews. The hunting farmer has a great one on the camojojo trace ! He has had them out longer than I have. Great breakdown on your video though keep up the great work !

    I wish these mapping software Companies and their promotors and reviewers would make it clear that their property boundaries are not accurate and are not legally binding. The mapping Companies use County Plat maps which are not accurate and are just estimates. I've tested the mapping software Companies property boundaries on my own property and found them to be sometimes hundreds of yards inaccurate. Most County Plat maps will say in fine print that the map is an estimate and not accurate and not legally binding. The reason the Mapping companies use them is because they are fee. The only accurate and legally binding property line source is a legal survey, and the surveys are not free. The surveyor charges for a copy of their survey. You may wonder why this is important well, in my state if you kill an animal on my land without my written permission you will be prosecuted for poaching no matter what software you are using. If you are hunting on my land without my written permission, you will be prosecuted for trespassing and attempted poaching no matter what software you are using.

    • @HuntDetail
      @HuntDetail 19 дней назад

      Ehhhh…synthetic down or synthetic fibers might…but not “hunting jackets”. It depends on their fill. Pretty sure the Columbia was synthetic. Of course, if you’re hunting Alaska…then synthetic is likely a better option. If you’re hunting elk in Colorado…different story…down can be an option if paired with a rain jacket, etc. Environments are going to dictate choices for sure.

    How did the mega meat beat the dead meat? I purchased Dead meat for an Elk hunt this year thinking best bloodtrail, penetration and cutting diameter (3 blade) compared to all the heads you tested! Never shot the Mega or Deadmeat but have shot Grim Reaper, Rage, Killzone, slick trick viper tricks and many more with luck for Whitetails…. 62lb Bowtech solution 29.5 inch draw and Bowtech Carbon One 72 lb with 446 Grain Easton 6.5 Matrix 300 spine.

    • @HuntDetail
      @HuntDetail 21 день назад

      It’s a great question because the deadmeat has a smaller cut diameter…one would think that the deadmeat would have greater penetration. But, the Megameat fully deployed and went 20 plus inches…very surprising. I will say that all of this is simply one data point. I would recommend using what you feel most confident in based on your own examination. Thanks for your feedback and support. Best of luck this season.

    Your testing raises a question, how are you getting so much penetration? Every ballistics test on YT i have seen- no one gets that much penetration. Your arrows weigh more than the typical guys we see on YT. Generally the Gel creates alot of friction/stiction on the arrow and no one gets that much penetration. Not a knock on you or your test- just wondering what is different here..

    • @HuntDetail
      @HuntDetail 29 дней назад

      Good question. I’m shooting into a relatively small area of ballistic gel. And as a result, I’m shooting from about 10 yards. That’s likely the difference. If I were to stretch that out to 20 or 30 yards, I’d likely hit an edge or maybe miss completely…or have the arrows angle outside of the gel. That’s why I’m so close. I understand that most shots are longer than 10 yards. But, my objective is to evaluate these arrows against each other…whether that is 30 yards or 10 yards…doesn’t make a whole lot of difference. Thanks for the question and your support. Best of luck this season!

    @1:15 how is the build quality on this vice. This does what I want and I will probably buy one but I'm concerned about sloppy play in the manufacturing due to the fact its a the generic $150 ebay vice. Is it quick to set when leveling the bow or does it sag (slop) a little after tightening a joint. Is it sturdy or does it have a tendency to wobble?

    • @HuntDetail
      @HuntDetail Месяц назад

      I would say it was pretty solid…I don’t believe there was sloppy play like there was with the other vices.

    I'm not positive, but I think that LiteOutdoors has the 2 stabilizing rods on top not only to hold the stove together but to offer a flat surface for heating pots/pans. Thank you for the review!

      That's true, the other consideration is that because it uses a similar titanium sheet to the Seek U-turn, there is imperfections, and warpage, around the assembly of it, which can let smoke out, and lose some efficiency when compared to the hard sided stoves like the SO standard stoves, or argali.

    I killed my first deer in 1965 with the old Bear two blade with bleeders blades off a 55# Bear recurve bow. In all my years I’ve never used a mechanical head. Because bows of the last 10-15 years are so much better than ever to get tuned and tuned WITH any arrow and broadhead why use a head that may fail you? Why not use a head that WILL NOT fail on impact? Want lots of proof of fixed blade heads, RUclips hunts in Australia. Watch those guys kill large wild pigs, feral goats and the monster Water Buffalo with simple two blade heads.

      I’m sorry, but this video wasn’t created to convince you to use mechanicals…it’s simply evaluating mechanicals. Use what you want..heck, use a Lego…I don’t care. I used to feel the same way you do and then I got tired of small to nonexistent blood trails. Best of luck this season!

    One thing I see when people use gel is they seldom create what would be considered the skin of an animal. The gel may imitate the meat tissue but there needs to be cloth, leather etc to get mechanical heads to open? correctly? Thin split cowhide used in some videos clearly shows the mechanical heads functioning normally nearly every time.

      @@HuntDetail Thank you. I did watch Part 1. I was debating between Huntstand (used in the past, was thinking upgrading to Whitetail Pro but did not seem to be good based on reviews) and OnX which has a deep promotion of 30% off. I need only one or two states so I can get it for $20-30. I will definitely try Huntwise now.

    After 15yrs with a Mossy Oak NWTF vest I retired it about mid way through this season and went to the Sitka vest (caught it on sale) and for a lighter run and gun set up it works great!

    Two things to also consider (for me anyway) is 1) the ease of setup and ease of use. My buddy has a seek outside and it's a pain to put together - especially in the cold (which is obviously when you'll be using it). Those wingnuts are easy to drop and lose. I have the Nortent titanium stove (not on your list) which is 81.13oz (heavy) and 882 cu inches. It's very quick and easy to setup (they have a video online) and I like the fact that you can get it with glass sides for those shorter trips where you're happy to take the weight or titanium sides for when you want to keep it as light as possible since they just swap out. 2) I also found that some of these really light stoves will warp more than others which then creates gaps and in turn leaks smoke into your tent. I totally agree that going with too small of a stove doesn't gain you enough in terms of the extra care and feeding the stove will take - in addition to the extra sawing you will have to do to keep the wood at the right length to fit in the box.
