      Jim Yang Because you're not Engish, you've slightly misunderstood my comment. The commas separate my comments about Momota, who is like LCW rather than Lin Dan. Lin Dan was known for flair, LCW for grinding out long matches, as you say, because he had good footwork, great defence, fit. But nowhere near as much flair as LIn Dan, and would play it safe instead, much like Momota. Hopefully that's clear to you, and please note, I'm not interested in your opinion.

    Axelsen did well for most of the 1st set, but got tired. Really hard for tall players in long points as they have to use more energy compared to shorter players.

    • @vertie2090
      @vertie2090 6 лет назад +2

      How come? You'd think they need to use less energy as they're taller and thus need to move less, and have a naturally better overall reach.

    • @Loppy2345
      @Loppy2345 6 лет назад +2

      Well look at the final point of set 1 at 37:30, you can clearly see Axelsen looking a lot more heavy and using more strength to change direction, whereas Momota is a lot more springy.

    • @vertie2090
      @vertie2090 6 лет назад +3

      You mean to say that Momota is more agile? I think you're right, LCW also seems more agile than Axelsen. If they were not they probably wouldn't be able to match Axelsen.

    • @iced8erg
      @iced8erg 6 лет назад +3

      gross prediction from googling, momota is 68kg, whereas axelsen 88kg, thats 20kg more weight to move around the court. at certain height, being taller is a disadvantage in term of stamina for superlong rallies. thats why being tall and having better reach doesnt mean less energy spent as he's a lot heavier than momota. if this theory is wrong, there would be a lot of 190cm+ player in badminton by now

    • @vertie2090
      @vertie2090 6 лет назад +2

      Well badminton is an Asian dominated sports and Asian players are generally less tall than their European counterparts. I think European badminton players generally are quite tall. But man, Axelsen sure is heavy for a professional player, I had no idea he's getting close to 100 kg. I think I saw LCW being 60 kg, now that's some lean fitness. Amazing that those lighter players can still muster all that strength for their powerful smashes.
      All in all, looks like Momota made the right call to challenge Axelsen to long exhaustive rallies in the 1st set, and then start attacking on the 2nd. Never imagined him becoming a rally player lol

    Momota was mcuh more fitter than axelsen. I hope Momotas rise has nothing to do with"substances" which boost his energy. I only find it hard to believe that he is that much fitter than anyone else. Momota stays explosive fast till the end and seems never to be fatigue. I hope he trained very hard and that he didnt take any stuff .

  • @Acekiller22
    @Acekiller22 6 лет назад +2

    Axelsen is not efficient, which is why he lose to momota, in terms of stamina and speed he still not up to momota level, axelsen habit like to take extra steps, these minor steps cause him lose out when momota change direction, if he can maintain his core and stabilise his movement, momota will find hard times to attack due to wingspan and court coverage

    • @vertie2090
      @vertie2090 6 лет назад

      Also he carries much more body weight. A great strategy from Momota to play the rally game in the 1st set to get him exhausted. But I agree his reach is exceptional due to his height and long limbs
