This felt like a final match, well played Axelsen! He improved a lot in the 2nd game, it’s frustrating to see him play like the 1st game most of the time against Momota. But again, congratulations Momota, his quality against all types of play is superb.

I think this is the reason why Kento can keep up with his ranking of world no.1.
This drop is supreme in this tight rallies.

Who else agrees with me, that Axelson’s smashes have a bigger preload action, easier to be read by the opponents. I hope axelson to iron that out.

Krishan Rathi you mean he won all those world and Olympic titles on low level skill? If anything I think he’s making more unforced errors in his game now compared to pre-2015. That points to a lower skill level instead of an improvement. You can’t rely on him to play a long rally these days, you know the error is coming.

I would rather have a better defence than a better smash. smashing doesn't give you the win but having a solid defence, you can always win. Because Kento has probably the best defence in the world, he's almost unbeatable.
