Incredible video once more! I'll show this one to my students as we are constantly talking about footwork and shorter swings theses past weeks. Thank you!
It's very interesting to see the many different styles that can make someone excel in the sport. There are those who win with dangerous attacks, some who tire out others to win, others whose control is very precise.
Beautiful analysis. 38Y holding at this level is truly incredible. This sis the kind of career the pros should inspire to have since it allows to enjoy the game without burning out due to injuries.
I understand his footwork (and love it, so calming and seems effortless), but never thought of shot-slection-angle that you've detailed here. It's a great analysis. Can you compare footwork of players from different nationalities. Asian footwork seems so fluent, while European seems pretty jagged. May be because of physique or training that they undergo. Would love to know your views.
I did see this guy when i watched how Momota defeat him, i was just focusinf on mmt and wondered who was this guy that could chase the speed rally of Momota, now I know he is the smoothest foot work player.
I think the philosophy of play in the highest level is change indeed. Great footwork no longer priority since the only thing that matter is getting point. so the Athlete train more in Power, Stamina, Stability and Shooting technique.
This might not seem like a fair comparison, but Kento Momota has good footwork and is able to dominate the net as well. Is this because his net play is really strong or what strategy does he use? Could you make a video on the strategy of Kento Momota also? I would be extremely grateful, thank you so much and loved this video! Keep it up!
I feel like players nowadays adopt similar strategy. When I watch players at lin and lee's generation, the drop shots and nettings are very close to the lines and drop immediately after crossing the net. but today the players don't play this way, and it seems like a trend. Can't find a single player playing in taufik or lee's style nowadays
Hello. I sugest to analyze Boonsak Ponsana's way of playing. One of smartest players ever in my opinion. Thank you for your comprehensive approach to our beloved badminton.
So incredibly smooth and dull; imo there's no excitement in this style no energy no momentum. Textbook is not meant to fully encompass the constantly adapting landscape of the practical. This is why we know Lin Dan and Lee Zi Jia because of how thrilling it is to watch them, all the time! That doesn't mean we can't learn from his gameplay, which this channel has done an excellent job at! Keep it up!
@@Phat-rj3jo he makes the most difficult seems easy because of how immensely skilled Lin Dan is in calibrating distances so he doesn't need to over move to hit the shuttle. That's why Lin Dan's change of pace is so threatening. Foot work is meant to compliment your strategy, not merely to have good footwork for its own sake.
Just a thought, instead of just analyzing pro game play, maybe you can make videos of advanced training tech as well such as boxed game play. What you mentioned Lee Hyun il Doing, making opponents be unable to play to the net, esp tightly as Lee's choice of shots increases the risk of unforced error for the opponent to play tight net, is something that pros train to do through playing "boxed" game. In Indo, its referred to as "main kotakan".
he's like vitidsarn huh. i don't think his footwork is better tho, it's just that lin dan prioritizes some "non smooth footwork" in order to get the chance to counter/kill instead of always having a relaxed return.
LCW could continue to play for longer too but he had nose cancer and forced to retire. LD is a legend, he doesn't need to keep playing lower rank tournaments just to win more less important titles. Kento momota plays boring but stable badminton too but the auto accident had lowered his sharpness and determination
li hyun ill footwork is really better, the circle of flow power before cross middle line, and only remake the circle of flow power after need to run cross middle line, definitely he is better than Lin Dan. But, this footwork must add prediction layer for young player, so there is chance of placing power smash, which li hyun ill did not add this layer when he is young. I studied, and make myself the adjustment.
Best footwork is LCW. Most explosive is LD. Best overall game is TH. LHI is very passive and his style of play is bad against very agressive + explosive players who are as consistent but more explosive+aggressive.
"even better than lin dan's footwork".. lol... even if it's true, and footwork is a huge part, lin dan's other unsurmountable strength got him to where he was.
The AI-voice kind of ruins it for me. Good video but if you had a real person reading the script, it would up the production value a lot at least in my opinion.
Carolina Marin is one of the most hated and controversial players in badminton because of her bad attitude and occasional unsportsmanlike behaviors. However, she is an amazing athlete and has managed to win some of the biggest tournaments in badminton. Could you please make a video and how and what makes Carolina Marin such a successful player? Thanks! Much love and great video once again! 🏸🏸❤❤
I’ve been a huge of li hyun ill someone finally acknowledging his incredible footwork and stability.
So smooth with almost no sudden change of pace. He just glide there where he needs to be all the time. Mad respect
but boring to watch
@@mtube620I guess you like explosive fast paced matches rather than controled slow ones?
This guy is silky smooth with the most effortless BH clear. Absolutely beauty to watch
Excellent video! His gameplay seems so simplistic but its incredible to watch how he controls the rally so naturally..
Incredible video once more! I'll show this one to my students as we are constantly talking about footwork and shorter swings theses past weeks. Thank you!
For him to play this style, his consistency and accuracy are insane. It's a one-size-fits-all vs 1-dimensional players.
It's very interesting to see the many different styles that can make someone excel in the sport. There are those who win with dangerous attacks, some who tire out others to win, others whose control is very precise.
A singles player at my age of 50 will benefit from that. Was also patterning my game to Momota's "old man" game. Great video.
He is truly an example of a gentleman's footwork on court. Period. 😎
better analysis than most channel 😁
Great vid. Earned my sub. As an oldie too, I think I learned lots from this video.
Beautiful analysis.

It is also because European's legs are longer and they jump to high when doing split step while they just need to push their legs wider.
Most underrated badminton yt channel everything is explained so sharp and precise 👏👏👏
Great video! I liked the video angles :)
I love his style. He has the smoothest gameplay men’s single have ever seen
Great research! I remember seeing this Xia Xuanze clip before, where he said Lin Dan's footwork was just alright compared to Lee Hyun Il's lol.
And now he's coaching Legendary Indian Player PV Sindhu...good to see them together.
A pleasure to watch him.
he's now coaching for pv sindhu
Yess LinHyun Ill is one of the top 3best footwork in badminton besides lindan and Lee Chong Wei. That's what I observed
Incredible analysis keep up the good work🎉

on mmt and wondered who was this guy that could chase the speed rally of Momota, now I know he is the smoothest foot work player.
I enjoy your channel. Could we have a more doubles review. I loved your Kang and Seo video. This li Hyun was smashing by the way.
Love LHI footwork so much! Simply the best.
And is anyone also notice footwork of MS players nowadays is less good?
I think the philosophy of play in the highest level is change indeed. Great footwork no longer priority since the only thing that matter is getting point. so the Athlete train more in Power, Stamina, Stability and Shooting technique.
Lee hyunil has underperformed his potential
This Is the best Channel.
The streets will never forget lee hyun il

Kento Momota in his peek was better than Li Hyun Il, but Momota didn’t have a career that long, because of the car accident he was in
Yes, we will make more Kento Momota videos. Thank you for commenting!
@@getgoodatbadminton8406 cannot wait. that game of kento vs LHI is a great examples of these two players
@@getgoodatbadminton8406looking forward!
LHI beat LD at least once, but was also beat by LD with bad numbers at least once
& the fact that he was a serious Apacs user! :)
Thanks for this.
Can you make a video comparing Lee Hyun Il's playstyle before and after

In the chinese community Li is known as "Littile Dan" since 2012 London Olympics as him and LD played in almost the exact same style.
Hello. I sugest to analyze Boonsak Ponsana's way of playing. One of smartest players ever in my opinion.
Thank you for your comprehensive approach to our beloved badminton.
make a video on latest axelsens win and loss against the same player
pls
I really think he has the best footwork by watching ,kinda like Taufik has the best backhand ,but i never thought Xia coach did say that about him😂
now watch how smooth An Se-young movement.
Can u make an video on why south korea stopped producing singles men players anymore and abt the toxic culture there which an se young talked abt?
I wonder what the poster does when he's not making loads of comprehensive badminton videos lol
Great, Leang Tai
Just awesome...
Kento momota still my favorite😍
he is adrian mannario of badminton

I don't agree. The games L HI played against Chen Long/Sun WH are amazing to watch. Shot choices and mental battles.
@@Dr996-p8d Can you link me please
I don’t agree, LD pretty much plays the same way, just with more power, that’s why LD also seems to not move much on the court.

Why LD lost to LCW at All England 2011 final? What's LCW strategy and LD weaknesses?

Lindan foot work is the best...
Analysis on kevin sanjaya pls
Please from MD too, since i only play double
I think you missed out on strong components who can comfortably play net shots and pushes Lee out of position
wait he's still playing??
you should study 2021 all england lee zii jia
You haven't made any chen long video yet !!
He is a gem , but still can't defeat lin dan that's called the will defeating skills
Isn’t this bit like Viktors style? He also plays the net quite rarely and pushes high and long.
❤❤

the only player lin dan hated to meet ....not struggled but hated
You have to be accurate to all corners of the court to play like Lee Hyun Il.
KBA might have to drag him out of retirement for the umpteenth time. lol
But you didnt talk about his footwork....
Maybe some other time :) Today was focused on how his shots allow him to move smoothly
Lin dan is best of the best 👍
rank 1 previously
Best footwork is LCW. Most explosive is LD. Best overall game is TH. LHI is very passive and his style of play is bad against very agressive + explosive players who are as consistent but more explosive+aggressive.
If his footwork is better than Lin Dan, why he loses to Lin Dan so many times?
If Xia Xuanze - a former world champion and Lin Dan's coach - says his footwork is better, who are you to contradict that?
"even better than lin dan's footwork".. lol... even if it's true, and footwork is a huge part, lin dan's other unsurmountable strength got him to where he was.
Im not disrecarding him but LCW could have gone longer but cancer happens
The AI-voice kind of ruins it for me. Good video but if you had a real person reading the script, it would up the production value a lot at least in my opinion.
All Korean players have great move. But have bad luck, never win
Lcw could have played more years if he hadn't got nose cancer
Korean, stop comparing this guy with Lindan. Lindan is the best of best. This guy is far away from Lindan.
Gotta work on your chinese pronunciations there.
lee hyun il never win any major badminton event, world champion, all england, thomas cup, super series master,..
Lcw still the best footwork in the world of badminton
