While I get they were riding the "Viking bandwagon" Viking Assassins just feel so out of place. I seriously doubt there were actual Viking assassins, and they were more likely to attack you as a band in a full frontal assault after Berserking than to sneak up on you alone with a dagger in their hand.

The coolest thing about Odyssey were the videos with the voice actors of Kassandra and alexios. They both had chemistry and can't miss the meme about Kassandra being canon.
As a Greek i really liked this game! Not only it was amazing having a game set in Ancient Greece and seeing all the ancient ruins in the former glory, but also they used many Greek actors and the music also had traditional greek elements. Also i liked the part you could tour yourself with the ancient sites with a narrator which I don't think other AC games have, so it was both fun and educational for many fans.

I recently started playing Origins again and pretty much had the same exact thoughts you had about Odyssey within the first 1 minute. These games could come out today and still be more alive and living than some games we've seen in the last year.
@@bananaman7973 they are good games for sure… but nothing like the “anthology” with Origins, Odyssey, or Valhalla really capture the FULL lore and land of everything. Yes it isn’t fully 100% assassins creed… but by god are the world(s) beautiful, realistic, and worthwhile.
I have about 600+ hours clocked in Odyssey, there is literally nothing left for me to do in that game. Absolutely love it and I’m always glad to see people appreciate it when so many just write it off as Ubisoft trash
@@bigsmoke394 anyway....you play a lot...what do you think about RDR 2...a friend doesn't recommend it to me because it's more to explore and I think I'll follow suit
I was 1 of those people. Played it when it came out and for some reason I didn't like it. I've just restarted it and I'm about 20 percent through the game. I'm absolutely hooked its fantastic. My only gripe is the leveling up system of your character and enemies and constant gear upgrade. I just don't think they needed that type of system for the game. I understand as you get better enemies need to be harder but to make every enemy roughly the same as your stats as you build up just seemed a bit pointless. I know there are obviously the legendary enemies that require very high stats but I just think they could of worked it a bit different. Apart from that it's a beautiful game with so many different things to do. Fantastic
I've spent the last couple of weeks getting through my 3rd playthrough after not having touched it in years and it blows my mind how easy it is to transition from main story, world exploration, side quest initiation, and end-game progression (like upgrading your ship or rising through mercenary ranks). It's unfortunate that valhalla feels so cumbersome throughout the game because it really feels like Ubi nailed the formula in Odyssey. Odyssey isn't perfect but 3 runs in and its still a ton of fun
Different studios. They've reused the assets, but other people were making it. Amazing how many countries Ubisoft was in. I think Sofia Bulgaria was making a big chunk of Odyssey, and Quebec Canada. Not 100% sure about Romania. They even had an office in Kyiv where I was born, and lived till 18. I think the Russian localization was done there. Not sure if they've reopened it yet.
Bro that's like 300 hours in total 😂 but yeah amazing game my first ac game now i got every single one after rogue except valhalla but odyssey is still the OG for me (not like the original game but for me the original game i played if yk what i mean)
Perfect timing with this upload. Over the last 5-6 days I’ve spent at least 32+ hours grinding and finishing the game. I’ve finished the cult now, and just finishing the rest of the Atlantis storyline
me too! Game is great! I love how for the platinum achievements you dont need half the world locations. Valhalla you need every single thing. Also odyssey theres always someone after me! Killed over 600 mercenaries but endgame valhalla no ones after me
They did a great job at portraying the routines of people from this era. I kinda see it as a little tribute to random people from the past that absolutely no one would think about
It's taken from Gothic, and later Skyrim. I just wish they did less areas overall, but added interactivity for the player like both Gothic and Skyrim had. You see a sharpening stone, you can use it. Same for forge. Then you craft stuff, and improve stuff, but you're doing it. Same with other things in the world.
@@dodesskiy1 100% agree I love the world and while I was thinking of how to improve I realised the game has almost 0 world interactivity, which goes to show how well it did alone on just looking beautiful and the NPC routines.
If you like that as a concept, there's a really interesting audio lecture called The Other Side of History available on the Great Courses and via Audible. It goes through human history looking at significant time periods and what it would have been like for a regular person in those times.
The mission you played where the husband and wife theater team is interesting. You can actually spare them both if you snipe all of the bandits from afar rather than just walk up to them. I love that about Odyssey, where you can change outcomes based on things like that.
fun fact about that part in the theatre. I wasn't happy that someone had to die, there's gotta be a different way. I reloaded the save, and looked at it again, not getting as close to trigger the dialogue. And noticed that everyone there is already an enemy. So I started shooting them, aggroing everyone, and then kill them in melee. And then both of the npcs stayed alive and thanked me that I saved them without any innocent dead. That's pretty neat, huh?
Odyssey’s rich story telling and world is what draws me in. It puts you in the shoes of a happy-go-lucky mercenary who has to deal with some pretty heavy shit both mainline and side quests. I love the vibe, the not overly drawn out humour, the sometimes dark and gritty questions posed by the narrative. Overall just so amazing
I just started this game for the first time just after Christmas. I'm now 100hrs deep and think this is one of the best games I've ever played! The sheer size and scale, the fluidity between side and main missions, and the detail between the world and mechanics are amazing. It hasn't felt clunky or repetitive. So much to do, so much to explore! Can't believe this game is almost 5yrs old.
I feel like it always feels good to replay a game you weren’t as into after the sequel. Valhalla made me appreciate odyssey much more than my first play through. It’s a fun game to play. I personally think the ancient world can be tough to create an AC game. It’s hard to be a blade in the crowd when there were less crowds.
@@kenyancarter To suite your own… I feel more so Odyssey and Valhalla have similar vibes, while origins is a “tad” bit different. Either way… beautiful games with the history and accurate depiction of certain figures. All of the three obviously feel different from other AC games, as they are part of an “anthology”. In my opinion… these “anthologies” cover all mythology circled around historical eras very well- fictional or not. All previous games as well as these are golden: wonderful stories and worlds to explore like it or not gameplay/story wise.
@@kenyancarterproblem with valhalla is that if your a hardcore gamer i competed it in 50 hours and there’s no side missions just raids which get boring over time and when u do get the good weapons like excalibur or sum it’s far to late to use it no side missions odyssey is so good bc there’s side missions creatures world missions cult and half the time u get lost jus looking at the beauty of the game
So I randomly picked this up as my firat entry into the AC open world series during the pandemic - immediately fell in love with it ! Just started Valhalla for the first time this weekend and just really wish I was playing Odyssey again!
Same, it's as if everything was taken back 2 steps so it's worse than Origins I swear. It feels like Origins would have come out after Valhalla to fix all the bad in it.
I mean, you can still consider it kind of a spin-off AC though, wev'e never had that much content about the Isu lore in the entire saga before. That's quite important ! We're not playing as an assassin, and we're not fighting templars, but to me it felt like a pretty good prologue to the rest of the saga, like a solid first chapter to lay out the basics.
I remember when I first got this game and I absolutely hated it bc it wasn’t like the old formula so 2-3 later I gave it another chance and had so much fun. My favorite was dropping from the highest places in the game and getting no fall damage. It felt soo good to stand atop the statue of Athena, look around and then do the super hero landing
I just played AC Odyssey again and this time on Nightmare setting and Exploration mode. I also applied "no floating HUD" mod plus set the in-game HUD settings to minimal. This is a whole new experience and it feel like Elden Ring to some extend thou... To be honest, Ubisoft did actually make their map too details and without the questions mark I can still find some important interest point just like Elden ring did with their map.
I'm about 70 hours into the game roughly halfway through doing every single possible side quest. It's a lot of fun, although kind of redundant sometimes, but that's all right. Some of the missions are silly like delivering medicine 50 m away to someone but for some reason they give you a ton of XP.
I loved AC Oddysey’s brutal and creative stealth animated kills. It’s so better to see than reused hidden dagger animations over and over again. That’s probs just me tho
Agreed, plus you had the Leonidas spear to do it, pretty cool ! The fact that you could upgrade it as well (and doing so would make your entire equipment look a bit better), that was a nice touch.
I absolutely love this game. I know it's very Ubi in ways, but the world, Kassandra, the general humor and darker elements of the plot, the music: this and Horizon are my comfort-food style games when I just want to escape everything and wander a beautiful landscape for awhile. And jfc there's just so much in this game!
and don't forget no matter how many assassins creed will come out...ODYSSEY will be and will remain the best game in history...hard to accept for those who hate the game but this is the truth....
The star of this game is the world. And I come back to it every single year. Nothing in gaming has peaked my interest quite like AC Odyssey did with their rendition of Ancient Greece.
I won’t lie. I played all other assassin creed games before odyssey. Even valhalla on my xbsx. I left odyssey for last because of all the hate i read about it online. But odyssey is so beautiful. The world is so vast and so beautifully made, it makes me feel like i really am in ancient greece. And Kassandra is just love! I chose Kassandra because valhalla has a side quest where Kassandra visits eivor. Kassandra’s character is just perfect! The game is amazing! The different types of side quests make the game so fun! Instead of just one type of side quests in origins. Meeting historical characters like socrates, hippocrates etc. Don’t let anyone fool you. Odyssey is a BEAST of a game! Odyssey is like if you take Origins to the next level ❤️
To them Origins has a pig sticker, so it fits into their vision of the proper AC. They still hate leveling to progress like in so many other such games decades prior, or opening a menu to equip newer gear. It all has to be the same 1 button from behind, no thought involved, or a shoulder button first then that same button. Origins is clearly better than all the older AC games, and Odyssey improves on it. But they've that cult going on around the old games. I did play then too, some were better, some so so. None too spectacular compared to other games of that generation.
I just finished all steamachievements. (93) 248 hours played in the actual savegame. ship is maxed + all ostrakons done + all ? places. All done on nightmare and now im lvl 86. I will start NG+ now and ofc i ordered Kassandra Pure Arts statue. Its the first game of my life ive done all achievements, so i think its worth the statue to allways remember what an awesome game it is.
Im replaying this game for the 2nd time after beating it for the first time in 2018 and honestly it still holds up ridiculously well. 2018 in my opinion was probably the last good year for video games. In 2018 we had rdr2, odyssey, detroit become human, god of war and plenty more masterpieces. Odyssey will always be a masterpiece of a game despite being so different from other assasins creed games
Unity is the most selled game in the series by units sold. Games sales got increased when fans started to liking it and also price got reduced to 7 dollar. It's not underrated at all.
@@levzyrianov5486 I'm originally from Greece, and a lot of the architecture and little elements of the story really made the culture stand out, I understand why others may not like it, but I do
Ancient Greece is one of my favorite historical periods, and I always wanted to see what it was like as a kid. This game blew my mind with the details. I think this game is highly underrated
It was a game that was beautiful and just worked! One of the best. I enjoyed hunting and exploring around Sparta. The nature was the most beautiful there as well as the flower trees by the lakes in the north. Breathtakingly beautiful!
I’ve just started playing this again some 5 years after buying it this is Ubisoft’s best AC game to date they put everything into this and it’s awesome
I’ve played every single ac game, and I gotta say odyssey is in my top 5. If you can look at it simply as a massive open world game where you’re a mercenary in Ancient Greece… it’s amazing, feels like you’re in the movie gladiator sometimes
@YesNo-yl6ws I've not played them all, but I really didn't like Black Flag or Revelations. So of the ones I have played and enjoyed, my default top 5 are AC2, Odyssey, AC1, Brotherhood, Origins. Shows how different people take different things away from these games.
I really want to dive back into it, but my first play through was 200+ hours and there’s still a few quests I haven’t finished. It’s such a beautiful and fun game.
Ive played AC2, Black Flag and Unity. And when it comes to atmosphere, emotional moments, immersion, combat and replayability, none of the Assassin Creed games come even close to Odyssey. The world created is so incredibly detailed and so much care has been put into it. I love this game so much. 500 hours put into it and still excited to start it up
The theatre couple quest has an interesting ending. They both perish or survive or only one of them survives, based on your actions and choices. Just start attacking the thugs at range and the cutscene won't play. In the end, the cutscene that plays is actually the couple thanking you and giving you the info you seek. One of my more favorable side quests of the game.
The first ac game I played was origins, didn’t finish it, moved on to odyssey which I have played through once as alexios and twice as kassandra. Definitely is one of my comfort games.
i’ve had this game since it came out but didn’t pick it up until a few weeks ago. i’m OBSESSED! so many choices, side quests, and beautiful scenery. I love it so much i don’t want to finish 😂
I had the same experience. When I did my playthrough years ago I actually made it to 100 hours and was thinking it still feels so fresh. Truly a game I didn't want to end.
You did right, it had many bugs like they all do. One game breaking bug would crash the game on entering 1 cave. Every time. I did everything to try and fix it. Entering the inventory ASAP after loading in somehow fixed it. There were many like that. And it's the usual now for most devs. Other new games have them too.
That’s the feeling I’ve got, just started a day ago and I’m already feeling like i won’t know what to do with myself when I finish. Haven’t played anything like this before, I will savor every moment👌
@@dodesskiy1 *_"You did right, it had many bugs like they all do. "_* Nonsense, must be your computer. I played it for 16 hours, and only found one minor issue with some some floating plant.
@@user-rk9kb2sd9b Yes, I've played for hundreds of hours before and after, but that bug is very real. They might have fixed it by now via a patch. It had to do with a ship being shown at the wrong spot to me first. It was kinda weird. Then that bug. It got fixed by opening your inventory screen seconds after entering. Since I remember that's how the ship bug happened first somehow too. So after hours of web searches, graphics updating, restarting I thought let me try this. Loading a save prior to that bug might have done it too.
I'm over 50 hours playing this, on my PS5. It's so addicting. The story and gameplay are not mind-blowingly awesome or deep like The Witcher 3, but enough to subtly push me going more and more and more. Dammit. I can't stop!
I really like this game, it's pretty fun (although most of the side quests were boring), the story was interesting, the voice acting was good, and the graphics make the map look so good.
AC Odyssey is a fun game to play. I was initially surprised by the introduction of mystical elements, powered weapons etc in an AC game. Some fans took that to heart and made some harsh comments when the game came out. But it’s one of my favourite games that came out in recent times.
If you give Agapios the chance so talk to his brother to save him, they will both walk at the edge of the platform to have a 1 to 1 heart talk. After Agapios gives his hearthly speech to his evil brother, Kingfisher just mocks him and pushes him off the edge, thus murdering Agapios. I chose that option thinking that we should never give up on family, as I wasn't giving up on Deimos' redemption either. Well, this was a slap in the face for me. But, at least I saved Deimos in the end hue hue
you know what’s funny is i noticed the new hogwarts legacy took a lot from assassins creed origins/odyssey. the gear load out and UI is almost identical and when i’m playing it i’m like “hey that’s ac odyssey vibes!” i loved odyssey
and don't forget no matter how many assassins creed will come out...ODYSSEY will be and will remain the best game in history...hard to accept for those who hate the game but this is the truth....
You need to see they Shadow of Mordor, Shadow of War. Yes, they took from these newer ACs too, but it's their own formula by now. Plus their Batman games. Some of the puzzles are right from there. I don't know about Witcher. Witcher doesn't play like AC Odyssey. Cause I've replayed both recently. There are similarities in how the open world is made. But Witcher took it from Gothic, and Shenmue. And it stank in Witcher 2. The combat started with Zelda Ocarina of Time. You can't do a game like that well and not copy it. But it's not owned by Witcher. I think overall Witcher is very overrated. It did some things well, but I hate every game being compared to it. Odyssey isn't a clone. it has ranged, it has ships. It's magic system is better.
im playing origins now and some things feel clunky like animations and combat with many enemies, if the rpg system wasn't there i think it would be a better game, specially on the stealth side at low level. The setting is amazing tho, i recommend disabling most of the interface that takes out the immersion and upgrading the hidden blade first to have a great stealth run
Agreed. The narrative in Origins at least felt more compelling imo. Whereas Odyssey felt like you were on your jollies gallivanting etc. The cult and your mum searching seemed to have come second fiddle. Bit disconnecting.
What I love about this game is that literally has spots in the game actually from Homer's books I loved going to Ithica to find Penelope shroud. And the island where animals used to be human u can find them on a tiny island where predators and normal grass eating creatures chill in harmony
Started replaying this after enjoying it in launch year. It's pretty grindy but the core gameplay and story are fantastic. Best assassin's creed so far in my opinion and Valhalla was such a step backwards

I just finished the game yesterday after putting more than hundred hours in. Easily one of the best AC game i've played in terms of story, sheer size and the amount of details put into it and mind you this is the first rpg style AC game that i played and i've always loved the older ac games.
I beat this game a few years ago and was my 1 pc game with good hardware, I had a blast, for the first time seeing a game more than 60fps with a beautiful open-world game on ancient Greece, this game is such a gem, a masterpiece! I played for 280h and made all the achievements and ill pick it up again and replay it all over again. The Dlc's are soooo worth it
what I really love about Odyssey that few people talk about, is just how much it celebrates Ancient Greece. It's like a love letter to that entire period. Origins was very cynical in its portrayal of Egypt and Valhalla depicted the Anglo-Saxons as complete buffoons. You didn't get the same sort of appreciation for a rich ancient culture as you did with Odyssey.
*_"Origins was very cynical in its portrayal of Egypt"_* Exactly, that's what really bothered me about Origins. A good example is the voice acting, they made a lot of civilians sound as if they had mental issues, such weird voices that you don't expect coming out of the mouths of Egyptian adults.
I started playing Odyssey again 5 months ago. Valhalla is next to it nearly finished for the 3rd time. The first game I played was on a floppy disc in like 1970's... when floppy discs were still floppy. I really like the AC series.
Might be a very unpopular opinion but Odyssey did what Witcher 3 couldn’t do for me, that was to hook me right away, or even just to hook me in general. Played 20 hrs of W3 and still not felt that “awh yeah I’m hooked” moment but with Odyssey I felt it in the first hour.. all the hype of W3 made me expect to get hooked right away but even after some days of playing, it didn’t happen. W for Odyssey for me !

Since playing this game for the past week, Ive literally been craving for people to upload more odyssey. Actually surprised someone did it! Such great timing!
I love AC Odyssey. Recently started my 3rd playthrough this time on the PS5 with the 60 fps update, the world is so beautiful and fun to explore and the ship combat and roaming the sea is amazing. I think its the most underrated AC game. The story is not bad but not good either, it’s all the side quests and stuff to do that it just nailed it. And I preffer to play as Kassandra because I can’t stand Alexios voice actor, Kassandra is way more fun
This is my favourite game OAT , spent over 500 hours on it, beautiful world, loads of characters and quests, good story, combat is alright. All in all it’s a nice fun time
These quests are great examples that some choices do actually matter in Odyssey. Spoilers for alternate endings, but you can save both parents in the first by attacking the bandits before approaching. (you have to be real fast bc they’ll kill off the parents quickly) As for the final quest, if you try to peacefully resolve the situation, the Kingfisher kills his own brother. Wonderfully surprised by this when I first played the game.
this game in 4k is insanely beautiful and detailed on an oled monitor/TV and fun to play on pc. it looks so damned good with the highest quality settings! i've chosen kassandra and she fits perfectly as the main character. if you like ac or games like HZD - just play and have fun. nice and entertaining video!
The setting of this game carries it so hard IMO. If you like Ancient Greek history and mythology, this game is like a wet dream. The attention to detail and historical accuracy of each location is baffling, and the fact that you come across so many historical figures like great philosophers, thinkers, and political and military leaders is so amazing. Admittedly, the dialogues are really dull and kinda disappointing for a game that has such interesting historical characters, but the fact that you're there with them in this Ancient Greek fantasy is so amazing. Even the more "magical" aspects of it felt at home because they're intertwined with actual Greek Mythology. If you come in wanting just another Assassin's Creed, the game will probably disappoint you. But as a standalone action RPG is actually very decent, and the setting is very well done, so if you like Ancient Greece, this game is an incredible experience.
This game is one of my absolute favourites! I also LOVED Origins! Excellent set of games! The worlds are absolutely stunning! I also just have hilarious memories playing this game catapulting people off of ledges with that Spartan Kick ability 🤭🤣🤣
I played most of the AC games and I’m really looking forward to play this one after 100% Origins and I don’t get why people hate on this game and this RPG trilogy too. This games are great, especially Origins that linked well the Assassin side of things with this new open-world RPG gameplay. Odyssey is just the logical next step in the series and also a big departure from the saturated classic AC formula presented in almost every chapter until now. Change is a good thing!
I like the newer ones too except for Valhalla. Origins and Odyssey both had more compelling open worlds and better movement imo and even though I went in expecting a Viking rpg, the gameplay loop just didn’t interest me
@@yourbarber6732 it's because valhalla is not really an rpg, nor is origins. I prefer odyssey due to there actually being stats and numbers. I hope they do the same with AC Red. Hey! Chiming in early for the video about the performance, you might know this already but if you manually disable the Uplay overlay for Odyssey it fixes a lot of the stutter issues the game has.
I bought Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla as a pack but I mainly wanted to play Valhalla. I wanted to go in order though so I made my way through origins not expecting it to be so grindy and take forever. Then when odyssey was the same way I just tried to plow through it and didn’t really enjoy it and didn’t even finish it my first time. Then I got into Valhalla and got way distracted by that and didn’t give a shit about the other two. Until about a month ago when I went back to oddysey and fell in love. I like it more than origins. It’s an awesome game. That being said I bought an XP boost because it’s kind of miserable without it. So overall Ubisoft sucks for doing stuff like that. Do comments this long help the algorithm? Cause nobody is going to read all this 😂
this video is so well timed I can't even explain it!! just the other day I booted up odyssey and loved it, then I went on youtube and saw many other people also liked this game, and now this video came out. got to say odyssey is in my top 5 maybe even in the top 3 for most loved ac games

I played this game a year ago, 6 months 300+ hours. Absolutely loved it. Currently playing Valhalla and having lots of fun. Played as Alexios. Might go back and play as Cassandra. Love a good open world to explore.
I have a NewGame+ I should really get back to. Kassandra was my first assassin (although I went back to see Amunet before finishing Odyssey to make sure I didn't miss any story), and she will always be the best for me.
Kassandra is just amazing. Seriously too hard to play as anyone other than ezio but Kassandra is so likeable and love her accent. Completed it and all the DLC on ps5 a couple of years ago, gonna start my pc play through on max settings
Just started the game tonight after finishing mirage a d holy shit. This game moves and feels better than mirage. Basim felt clunky walking around and so slow. Kassandra runs automatically and feels so smooth. Love the world so far.
been playing this game since August. Amazing game and the expansion the fate of atlantis is incredible much better than all of the expansions for valhalla.
I havent played AC since III ages ago. My husband recently surpised me with Origins (he knows Im fascinated by ancient Egyptian mythology and culture) and Ive been playing on nightmare and just, WOW I love it. The series has grown so much since those days. So I wanted to ask, whats new in Odessey coming from Origins, aside from setting and characters? I saw you had a dedicated Ship tab which is exciting.
What's new in Odyssey: Dialogue choices and decisions effect the story. Conquest mechanic: you can support either Sparta or Athens in the war and participate in battles. Each region is ruled by either side and if you do enough stuff to sabotage their rule, a battle breaks out. The system isn't incredibly deep but can be fun The mercenary system is hugely expanded exploration mode: instead of objective markers that just tell you where to go, you can opt for an 'exploration mode' that gives you hints on where to find your objective. It makes the game more immersive and makes you think about the geography more. Vastly improved side quests. Bigger and done in the Witcher 3 style, in that smaller quests can branch out into larger storylines and present decisions, etc. Much more role playing. more decision making when it comes to weapons, equipment and playstyle as well as story and character personality Combat is overhauled. It feels more Arkham-like in that it seems more designed for fighting multiple enemies at once. More choices for fighting styles Ship building and naval combat and exploration is a game unto itself
odyssey could have come out yesterday and it would feel new. that's the absolute state of open world video games 💀

These games could come out today and still be more alive and living than some games we've seen in the last year.
origins is easily the best of the ac games tbh
Right? I just started replaying it after 2 years and the world is just so well done, along with the story and the main character
@@IAmWhiteEagle your crazy what about black flag,brotherhood,ac 1 2 3?
Went back at the beginning of this year to replay these 2 games and you're right. Just finished origins and now I'm loving the odyssey world.

@@bigsmoke394 You guys really gonna gatekeep almost a solid month's worth of playtime?
The team that made Odyssey also made Immortals Fenyx Rising.

I played this game for hundreds of hours years ago, and I still remember the mission you start with! I love video games!
😂😂😂 lol I just started and I can't remember, is it the debt collection
They did a great job at portraying the routines of people from this era. I kinda see it as a little tribute to random people from the past that absolutely no one would think about
It's taken from Gothic, and later Skyrim. I just wish they did less areas overall, but added interactivity for the player like both Gothic and Skyrim had. You see a sharpening stone, you can use it. Same for forge. Then you craft stuff, and improve stuff, but you're doing it. Same with other things in the world.
@@dodesskiy1 they would piss off old AC fans if they made this game more like a RPG.
I'm currently replaying the game, it's a marvel from a technical perspective. Everything is just so fluid and seamless.
Well, Many open worlds do the same
Not Starfield!😂

Valhalla's writing and characters are so boring compared to Odyssey it's crazy.

Hot Take: AC Odyssey is only good when you don't imagine it as a AC game and instead just imagine it as a Greek Open-world adventure game
Agreed
Fr
If you get the hidden blade dlc than it will make a lot more sense
Jumping from the highest point and getting no fall damage is definitely one of the best parts of the game. You're a demigod. It's awesome.
Honestly
Agreed, plus you had the Leonidas spear to do it, pretty cool ! The fact that you could upgrade it as well (and doing so would make your entire equipment look a bit better), that was a nice touch.
Recently started to play this game and its awesome , the detail is just breathtaking. Enjoying every minute of it.
@zicuvalentin2251 are you copy pasting this everywhere to drum up arguments?

It's magic system is better.

what I really love about Odyssey that few people talk about, is just how much it celebrates Ancient Greece. It's like a love letter to that entire period. You didn't get the same sort of appreciation for a rich ancient culture as you did with Odyssey.
*_"Origins was very cynical in its portrayal of Egypt"_*
Exactly, that's what really bothered me about Origins. A good example is the voice acting, they made a lot of civilians sound as if they had mental issues, such weird voices that you don't expect coming out of the mouths of Egyptian adults.

The game is far from perfect, but I'm such a Classical Greece history nut that I can't help but love it.
Odyssey is my all time favourite game. Currently playing Valhalla and Valhalla seems so soulless
Is it your 1st game😂 Ody is the 3rd worst AC game.
@@whendarknessfalls6969 In your opinion***
This game is one of my absolute favourites! I also LOVED Origins! Excellent set of games! The worlds are absolutely stunning! I also just have hilarious memories playing this game catapulting people off of ledges with that Spartan Kick ability 🤭🤣🤣
One of my favorite games. Might actually pick it back up again after watching this
I played most of the AC games and I’m really looking forward to play this one after 100% Origins and I don’t get why people hate on this game and this RPG trilogy too.
Like move away from the "block and counter instant kills" and boring ass hidden dagger instant kills..... give me rpg assassin's creed any day over ac mirage.
this game would still be amazing and 10/10 in 3023...the best game ive ever played, never get bored of it, ive done 2000 hours on it. My 2nd fave is red dead 2
Agree...Played ODYSSEY 3000h😂😂😂...good comment...People doesn't know how to play this game
I gave up like 70 hours in cause the leveling takes forever, but I was just trying to get through the main story. It's still a great game though.
Hey! Chiming in early for the video about the performance, you might know this already but if you manually disable the Uplay overlay for Odyssey it fixes a lot of the stutter issues the game has.
If you look this up, the first reddit result should tell you how to do it. Gonna go back to the video now 😅
"ac odyssey disable uplay overlay reddit"
Cause nobody is going to read all this 😂
Hey ! I just read it all
this game is absolutely gorgeous
I actually really enjoyed playing odyssey. The map was so detailed and had so much fun playing this game
this video is so well timed I can't even explain it!! just the other day I booted up odyssey and loved it, then I went on youtube and saw many other people also liked this game, and now this video came out. got to say odyssey is in my top 5 maybe even in the top 3 for most loved ac games
Same thing happened to me. Started playing again a week ago. Got addicted again & been watching RUclips videos on it. Having this video come out is such a treat!
I played this game a year ago, 6 months 300+ hours. Absolutely loved it. Currently playing Valhalla and having lots of fun. Played as Alexios. Might go back and play as Cassandra. Love a good open world to explore.
Played ODYSSEY 3000 hours...
ive been in love with this game since it came out
I have a NewGame+ I should really get back to.
Agree
I havent played AC since III ages ago.
My husband recently surpised me with Origins (he knows Im fascinated by ancient Egyptian mythology and culture) and Ive been playing on nightmare and just, WOW I love it. The series has grown so much since those days.
So I wanted to ask, whats new in Odessey coming from Origins, aside from setting and characters?
I saw you had a dedicated Ship tab which is exciting.
Played ODYSSEY 3000 hours...
What's new in Odyssey:
Dialogue choices and decisions effect the story.
Conquest mechanic: you can support either Sparta or Athens in the war and participate in battles. Each region is ruled by either side and if you do enough stuff to sabotage their rule, a battle breaks out. The system isn't incredibly deep but can be fun
The mercenary system is hugely expanded
exploration mode: instead of objective markers that just tell you where to go, you can opt for an 'exploration mode' that gives you hints on where to find your objective. It makes the game more immersive and makes you think about the geography more.
Vastly improved side quests. Bigger and done in the Witcher 3 style, in that smaller quests can branch out into larger storylines and present decisions, etc.
Much more role playing. more decision making when it comes to weapons, equipment and playstyle as well as story and character personality
Combat is overhauled. It feels more Arkham-like in that it seems more designed for fighting multiple enemies at once. More choices for fighting styles
Ship building and naval combat and exploration is a game unto itself
