It's nice to have for all the old stuff.
I haven't had much luck though, tried converting an old Vortex 285 to ELRS for a friend. A Sbus to CPPM adapter are needed for those. So flashed 3.3 to the receiver tried and got a Sbus signal on my battery checker, but when connecting to the CPPM adapter nothing happened.
Ended up having to use CRSF and have a Matek CRSF to Sbus converter in-between the receiver and CPPM adapter for it to work.
Got it up in the air with ELRS in the end, but had hoped to not need the Matek board in-between.
Never figured out why this wouldn't work, but he's happy in the end and the end result is still smaller than he's old Duplex receiver.

I'm pretty new to RC flight and even newer to ELRS. I've got a TX16S 4-in-1 version and a BetaFPV micro ELRS module. Watching videos I know that CRSF is the default for ELRS, but when I look at the other options to choose on the BetaFPV module, I can see SBUS, DSM, PWM and I can even see Multi as an option. I've tried looking around online, but I can't seem to find anything about these other protocols.

I have a Radiomaster ER6G that I was hoping to use in a glider to replace a FRSky system. My setup is three PWM channels in the Fus and S-Bus to the wing where I breakout to four PWM servos. Whilst I can replicate this setup with the ER6G I find that the Fail Safe does not operate on the S-Bus channels to the wing - an important safety feature for a glider. Is that a “feature” or am I missing something in the setup.

I have the normal controls for the AtomRC Swordfish (4 channels just for the surfaces), but i use switches for alt hold, arm, RTH and auto trim, do I need a channel for all of these functions? So I was thinking of getting a 8ch ELRS, but if a 6 will do then great.

@mironuw6917 ..on the opposite end from the servo connections, there is a port underneath the little red plug that the antennas come out of on the ER6 and ER8. That is where your SBUS signal comes from. There is an adapter in the receiver box that has that UART port plug on one end and a servo connector on the other end that you can use for SBUS. You still have to log into the receiver and tell it to output SBUS. Hope this helps.

@@Painless360 Thanks for the suggestion. But the experience I get, is that I can no longer connect to betaflight with my FC using USB at all. I think it is similar to the issue where you can mistakenly disable USB VCP which then renders the USB port on the FC undetectable. Good thing is that the Serial UART2 built in ELRS still works, as the WIFI signal switches on shortly after the USB of FC is connected to computer. Some suggest trying to use ST-Link V2 to flash the STM32 chip with the correct 405 betaflightf4 firmware. So I have ordered one to try today. I did try using the betafpv ELRS recovery dongle to connect G, 5v, rx6, tx6 and try to connect to BF, but although the usb port shows up as cu/SLAB/CP2102/210X... it fails to connect when trying to update firmware in BF, so unsure if the ELRS recovery dongle is the correct one to use for connecting that way. It is a real shame as the CrazyF405 HD AIO on the Mobula8 you reviewed is a great whoop and flies beautifully. This issue makes me think twice about buying that FC again. I think someone on a forum or video mentioned your channel and named you had a fix or workaround for a similar problem which lead me to asking you here. No giving up yet, but still tearing my hair out.

@@Painless360 Thank you for the tips. The problem is now solved. After having tried soldering all available rx/tx and trying to connect using ftdi usb. I got a response only after 6 hours directly from HappyModel support in China. I believe the information is missing from most websites that sell the CrazyF405 HD AIO used in the Mobula8 HD as the wiring diagram doesn't include details of STM32F405 boot solder pins that need to be shorted for DFU mode. HappyModel emailed me a phot highlighting boot pins to enable DFU mode to reflash latest firmware. I just wanted to include this, as although HappyModel aren't seen as the highest quality fpv component producer, they have been around for a very long time and my experience of their Mobula series of whoops is just 100% reliable cost friendly. Plus their customer after sales service is extremely efficient.
