    At minute 9:00 I said I bought a 13900K, I meant to say 13700K. Oopsie👀🤭

  • @MrDutch1e
    @MrDutch1e 10 месяцев назад +5

    People think the 13700k doesn't destroy the 12700k either. When it comes to Warzone that little bit of extra cache helps a ton. I gained a solid 50-60fps in minimums going from 12700k to 13700k with both just at stock settings.

    • @Beefy-Tech
      @Beefy-Tech  10 месяцев назад

      Maybe on release the difference wasn't crazy, but today, it's huge difference. Especially because the 13700k oc's way higher and supports faster ram more consistently. Ddr5 on 12th gen was a joke, but on 13th gen it began to show it true potential!

    • @MrDutch1e
      @MrDutch1e 10 месяцев назад +1

      @Beefy-Tech ya the latency potential is huge because of the extra cache and faster uncore. I get 10ns lower latency with identical ram settings. That doesn't even include the potential for heavier overclocks.

      @@Beefy-Tech Yeah, ...thanks for a great video that made me rethink my upgrade plans. I'm kinda stuck with slow DDR5 4800 RAM and a crappy 12 gen motherboard. Replacing my 12700k with a newer CPU may not produce a WOW moment.

    • @Beefy-Tech
      @Beefy-Tech  10 месяцев назад

      I agree. The boost in performance this gen is minimal on the cpu itself, with the ram speed support increase being most of the performance gains.
      15th gen being a completey new platform will allow them to push gains wayyy more!

    Are you still using process lasso for the 7800x3d? I use the 7950x3d but sometimes I think also process lasso don‘t work perfect or using the correct cores(1-15).

    • @Beefy-Tech
      @Beefy-Tech  10 месяцев назад +1

      On the 7800x3d process lasso isn't needed since it only has 8 cores on 1 ccd.
      For the 7950x3d, call of duty will sometimes use a second ccd core even though cores are set to 0-15 in lasso, and that's just because of the software AMD includes with chipsets that it does that.

    Hey man just discovered your channel and your videos are very interesting. I wanted to ask you advice for my future build, I use 10700k and RTX4070 but I want to change. 14th gen is coming very soon, do you recommend to wait for the 14600k z790i and 7200c34 kit or go for the 7800X3D and 6400c30 ?
    Also if 7800X3D is the msi b650m mortar good mobo for it ? I don't want to go full size mobo

    • @Beefy-Tech
      @Beefy-Tech  10 месяцев назад +2

      Hey! I have always been skeptical of doing intel builds with midrange parts as overclocking tends to be extremely limited on the midrange on intel.
      on AMD it is usually the same... but thanks to X3D cpu's it does not matter, as they do not overclock in the traditional sense, which allows you to easily cheap out on mobo, ram, and cooler and lose nearly NO performance! I made a build with a generic b650 mobo + M die ram + 40$ air cooler + 7800X3D and I got the SAME performance on that rig as I am getting on my current high end extreme OX rig... basically showing that the 7800X3D doesnt benefit much from high end parts.
      For intel, I cannot say its a good idea to cheap out on mobo, as it may entirely kill ram stability and support! A lot of intel mobo's say they "achieve" a certain ram speed...and then they just dont lol. So be very careful choosing a mobo with an intel CPU if you do end up going for it!

    keep in mind, the Arctic LF II mounting Kit won't work on the apex due to it's big VRM Heatsinks. U have to manually cut the bracket if you want to but stock LGA1700 Mounting Kit wont work with the Apex ONLY on the LFII. Get the EK nucleus or the trinity performance from arctic, they do perform better due to faster pump speed. the lian li one has a 32mm thick rad and better pump

      Ideally go for an Asus or Asrock b650E mini itx. Those will be the best of the bunch for sure. Also I'm not sure which lan driver to recommend, so go with the law of whatevers newest😂

      generally speaking the intel lan in previous years has been more consistent and better, but realtek has improved it a bit overtime and they are both quite functional and stable
      although I would still recommend intel lan overall for stability.
      as for itx boards, i mean they have been super hit or miss this gen but yeah the Asrock pg riptide itx board and the msi edge are decent overall, I would prefer the asrock one though far over the msi one and the asus models are just very expensive compared to these 2

    Those MW2 benchmarks are influenced hard by HPET…should be mentioned that running HPET off + dynamictick off gives you +25-30 fps in mw bench…at least on my 7800x3d it does

    • @Beefy-Tech
      @Beefy-Tech  10 месяцев назад

      I haven't disabled HPET manually, but I have a custom windows Revi os install, so I'll have to check and see if it was on or off in my tests just to verify.
      In al mazrah, The 13900KS my buddy has gets 285 fps running a specific route. My 7800x3d gets about 313FPS running that exact al mazrah route.
      Do keep in mind wz2 is very amd sided, so outside of cod 13900ks will be faster a lot of the times regardless of settings.
      I'll let you know if HPET was on or off👍

    • @Beefy-Tech
      @Beefy-Tech  10 месяцев назад +1

      You are right. Basically it'll be +200MHz with increased DDR5 ram support, so most of the gains will be in the ram speed rather than the actual cpu itself.
      15th gen will be a brand new platform, allowing them to get far more radical gains.
