That magic keyboard at $350 just makes no sense. I can’t justify that price.
You tell me, Apple just want to suck the hell out all of our money
Got it for $160 refurbished through Amazon and it’s been amazing for that price. 300-350 is too excessive to me as well
@@shane2095 I would say it’s worth $150-$200 max. After that there’s zero value in it.
I agree with the thought that at that price, its too much. That being said, I have it for the 11.9” M1 iPad Pro and it’s the best combination. The ease of connection, the bypass charging, the keyboard touch and feel, it all works seamlessly. If you have the money, I 1000% recommend it.
I agree that is basically a price of the lowest tier ipad. You can buy that ipad and use a keyboard app for that price lol.
Having those backup storage drives is a great piece of mind. Trust me after freaking out about deleting some important video files by accident it a good thing I had a copy of that file backed up on my drive. Thanks for the video, Gary!
I swapped my 11" M1 iPad Pro + magic keyboard for the 12.9" versions and am thrilled with the performance. Typing on the bigger magic keyboard feels so much better to me. It makes the bigger iPad Pro an excellent laptop replacement.
@Matt I've had both sizes of the iPad Pro. 11" is too small for me. I do just fine with the bigger one.
For a case for the iPad Pro 12.9”, I chose the ESR Pencil Case (Rebound Series). Weird name. Nice case. It is the SmartCover style with the tri-fold screen cover that can act as a stand when rolled to the back. Primarily, I like the place to store and protect the Apple Pencil. It adds some bulk, but it’s worth it to me. And the case in the black color is less than $20.
For the keyboard, I actually use an iClever Foldable Bluetooth keyboard (BK06). It’s compact for travel, key travel is just right, and it holds a charge forever.
You should totally recommend the Satechi slim keyboard, I’m using it right now. Backlight, switches between Bluetooth sources, it’s fantastic. Also if you get an Anker battery, ask yourself if you need a bigger one that has USB-C output so you can occasionally top off a Macbook, I just needed to do that despite running with an M1 Macbook Pro.
The Logitech combo touch looks like a great magic keyboard alternative for the iPad Pro. I personally got an iPad Air 4 last year and got the Logitech folio touch instead of the magic keyboard and have loved how protective yet portable it is, along with a great typing experience. I’ve heard the trackpad is improved on the combo touch as well as it can detach the keyboard from the case unlike the folio, I wish they’d make a version of the combo touch for the iPad Air 4
And now they did :D
One of my favourite iPad accessories is the Verbatim Media Share wireless hub. It lets you back up your files over a personal WiFi to any powered hard drive. It also acts as a portable battery bank if you need it in an emergency.
I dig all your videos! Also love your different geeky shirts for each vid. Keep it up!
I have that keyboard for my iPad Air, it’s great, love the backlights
Logitech now has a combo touch for the 12.9” pro and they have a removable keyboard for both the 12.9” and 11”. It doesn’t have the flap to keep the Apple Pencil in place anymore but I’ve heard good things about it
It’s great, wife and I both love it for our 11inch models
Can confirm the 11 inch model case is wonderful
It’s ok… it’s a little awkward to type for me. I’m looking for a new case.
I Have The 11” And The Slim Folio Pro Case From Logi Has The Flap For The Pencil, I Love It!
Is it sturdy and does it stay in place like this keyboard? Like that this one seems to stay put.
Hi Gary - Love your channel & content, it's amazing what you do. Was a little surprised by the amount of subscribers you had - would've thought you had more 😱😂. Just a testament to your content personality and quality of what you produce really - Keep up the good work 👍👍😃
Love your reviews. Keep going!
great reviews, im gonna get some of these for my iPad, just got myself one of the sketch slates, and love it
The OWC thunderbolt 4 dock is spectacular
I love my Logitech pebble! It is definitely my everyday go to mouse.
Gary's ipad videos are epic.
dell's key borders are so nice
For the work I do and how I do it, the iPad Pro is a laptop replacement for me. The lightweight and portability are huge pluses. You have some great videos and great advice. Cheers.
I know I am late to the party, but I just got a great deal on a m1 11 inch so I got it instead of waiting for an M2. I love the Logitech combo touch. They are the only company that works with apple and the trackpad gestures will work flawlessly and with the magnetic connector. I love this case, the typing is nice, the protection is nice, the ability to remove from the keyboard is amazing, and the best part is the function bar at the top. 😊
People always talk about the pencil for drawing. I don’t draw and use it ALL THE TIME. Everyone seems to ignore handwriting. It is the best hand written to text conversion I’ve ever seen. The only problem is…some apps (like the incredibly outdated RUclips app) keeps the text box at the bottom of the screen…which makes scribble really annoying…but modern apps either stay in place or have an expand button that puts the input to the top. I use scribble more than the keyboard…it’s my main input method when using it as a tablet.
Alougth I can't afford any tab but still watch ur videos 😘
what about a way to place your iPad Pro 12.9 above your Macbook Air for a dual + ergonomic portable desk setup where-ever you go?
I couldn’t afford the pro I settled for the air 4. Which I love. I love your videos as they are informative…I learned a lot about accessories for my iPad Air 4. I have owned other tablets that were non apple and I know without a doubt the ipad is the best. Other brands I had nothing but isssues …You can’t beat apples security and locator.
I really enjoy watching your videos man. Keep up the content. I should probably stop watching and make my own 😂
2:04 *Me remembering the butterfly keys:* Yeah, the best keyboards ;)
The best mouse for any iPad is the razer Orochi v2 by far!! No question. Ive tried the pebble, MX anywhere, and countless others. The orochi v2 not only is fine if your ok with Bluetooth latency but when using the included 2.4 dongle plugged directly into the iPad with a usb to usb c adapter there is ZERO latency! And the best part it works out of the box, no hoops to jump through to get the dongle to work! Yea its a bit expensive however I’ve tried tons of Bluetooth mice and me coming from a gaming pc i just can’t deal with how Bluetooth mice feel. I just can’t adapt to how much lag Comes with the Bluetooth. So the fact that the wireless dongle just works right out of the box with a adapter its wellll worth the extra cost if you want a “corded” zero lag experience that’s compact and wireless! And yes it does support Bluetooth and 2.4 connections! Even has a storage space for the dongle inside the mouse! You need to check this mouse our man! I think if you do you’d understand fully what I’m trying to say.
Yes! stitching is IMPORTANT haha. Thanks Everyday Dad for mentioning that
I was really excited about the magic keyboard….but to be perfect honest…I use it about 30% of the time. For casual use I use scribble with the pencil to type almost all of the time. I break out the keyboard when I need to type a lot. It’s really great…but I thought I would be using the iPad like I’ve used past tablets more like a laptop. Not true. It’s so good as a tablet.
Hey! Love your vids. I’m sure this one will be great too!
I need to buy or get more accessories for my MacBook Pro 13 inch intel, so this video helps that process
The content to hardware ratio of this channel is epic.
Very true
Compared to this omoton keyboard, the nulaxy km12 backlit keyboard with detachable case/stand for $24 looks about the same, but is aluminum and built solid.
That’s your favorite shirt Gary!
Have the M1 iPad and just got my Logitech Combo Touch keyboard for it. If you don’t wanna pay the $350 for the Magic Keyboard, I highly recommend it.
Still paying the installment of M1 MBA..
Once it’s done, I will get myself M1 iPad Pro 😅😅
Don't get the magic keyboard, get the logitech combo touch instead. Offers more protection, better keyboard, can be separated from the keyboard to be used solely as a tablet whilst keeping it protected. Just a better solution in every regard.
Yes I love it! It’s convenient because if you don’t feel like using the keyboard you can basically rip it off and the stand works great it’s still expensive but not as bad as apple and more useful
I bought the keyboard and TOTALLY regret it!!!!
@@frankmedrisch7451 are you sure you got the combo touch? You might have gotten the older folio touch. I know I was confused at first
I disagree. The Logitech needs a tabletop to work comfortably, the trackpad is far behind the Magic Keyboard’s, and the denim-ish fabric sucks.
Because the 11” Pro is “less desirable” among tech dorks, so are the accessories. I just picked up a barely used Magic Keyboard and Pencil for $250 on eBay. That’s a hell of a deal and gives the best experience.
@@buttsexandbananapeels I got my iPad magic keyboard case and Apple Pencil 2 for less than that but I’m not happy with the little protection the case gives. Plus you have to remove it completely from the case if you want to use it flat on a table.
Synology that is the way to save your files i have a 920 still learning but great
This is such an awesome channel! Helped me get my 2020 12.9 inch iPad Pro and the Magic Keyboard!
This is great information but I’d like to know how you integrated your microphone?
Do you suggest to buy the pencil2 now or just wait for the 3 model? I got my first iPad and I’m looking for accessories 😬
excellent presentRion
I ordered the "iPad Stand" just now.
Hey that's a really pretty iPad! :)
I’m returning this M1 iPad Pro tomorrow. I’m totally satisfied editing and daily using my 2020 iPad Pro and M1 MacBook Air. All my videos were edited with them without a hiccup.
$1500 back in my account…cha-Ching!!! Cheers 🍻
If you like the Native Union tech bag, you should look into and try the one from Peak Design out of San Francisco. Incredibly high quality gear.
I love ❤️ iPad Pro M1 & M2 12.9 also love you forever ♾ !!! ❤
Hi! Is it almost the same thing, in terms of functionalities, to use a mouse 🖱 or a trackpad with the external keyboard ?
I was able to take my 2018 IPP OtterBox Defender case from my last IPP and mod the top left cutout where the camera lens goes making the hole larger and the new 2021 12.9 IPP fit perfectly. I was curious if it would fit because they say the 2021 is a hair thicker than older IPP's. But it fits like a glove. Other than the camera lens, I think everything else is identical to the older IPP's.
for the price of the magic keyboard i prefer build a pretty decent custom mech keb, a good case and a stand for the laptop XD
Facts
Got links to those products? I’m interested
Yeah i will get a cheap folio case . A keychrome mech keyboard and a Logitech mx master mouse
"Keys are great you can hear here"
RUclips video: gives me an ad of someone screaming
Me: Seems legit- Oh well-
I got an ad at the exact same moment. Lmao I was listening intently with my AirPods and about blew out my ears.
@@ei8htupindustries715 Lmao
“Apple makes the best keyboards”
Me with my custom $300 mechanical keyboard
Next he's going to say they make the best mice
K?
Apple makes the best chiclet style keyboards. I actually prefer chiclet keyboards for short typing sessions, but if I’m going to be working for more than an hour I would rather have a mechanical keyboard.
Hi ,you make great content!Keep up!!!Do you know if the 2021 ipad pro supports external web camera?
What do you do with all of these things when you done reviewing it
Hi mate, do you have any heating issues with your iPad even when playing a HD video for like a hour.. it’s actually gets a lot of hot at the middle of both front and back… hope to see your opinion abt it…
Dualshock 4 is my choice 😌
I just order the 11” pro, traded up from the iPad Air. I hope my magic keyboard from my 10.9 air works! It should. Do you know if its the same?
I got the 128 version, I’m hoping it’ll be enough storage. For my needs, it should be perfect, I do some photo editing, light drawing and taking notes, games, etc. I don’t keep videos on my iPad. I had tons of apps, a bunch of games, some videos, and a LOT of photos on my previous 256 iPad and I only used like 70 gigs or so, so fingers crossed I’ll be fine at 128. Do you think 128 is enough for most people?
Great video, I’m super excited! And now I want a white magic keyboard! 😂
I have a question: if I already have a MacBook, should I also consider buying the magic keyboard for the iPad? I am currently using the iPad mainly for school.
Thank you!! I hate screen protectors particularly Paperlike! The drawing experience for me is superior without a screen protector!
Yeah I stopped using screen protectors on my phone and bought one for my iPad but never used it lol because I hate air bubbles so much 😂
Totally agree! HATE the paper like screen protectors. Don’t like the “hazy” look and the sound when you write on it drives me crazy
Commenting from my ipad pro i bought last year (ur videos made m buy it 😅)
He’s what got me to buy both my M1 MacBook AND my M1 11” iPad… Apple needs to start paying this man!
Have you checked out the Twelve South HoverBar Duo yet? If so, does it work with cases like the Logitech Combo Touch?
Debating to switch to mac os for editing, I currently use premier but would buy base m1 air with final cut pro x. Very nervous, friend a mine said if you got any issues your screwed. What do you thing? Love the channel btw
DO A VIDEO ON THE GH5 MKII!!!
I love watching stuff i cant afford. 😀
can you please review the logitech slim folio which is a cheaper alternative for Apple keyboard?
Please try Moft float 2 in 1
"If you're gonna have an ipad, a macbook, iphone or a wife...Get a good charger" lol
🥴😭😭😭 that’s too good
Are use the screen protector that comes on and off bought it from Amazon. Love it because when I want to draw I can but when I wanna watch movies I can still have that great screen.
I got the cheaper iPad pro keyboard without the touchpad, as I use a Swift point mouse a lot! I also bought the pen.. and keep it in an iPad Pro 'shell' called Cover buddy from Switcheasy that houses it. But if I wanted a portable keyboard I have a Logitech K400 that comes with a touchpad! But I did get that baseus with a switch!
Great Video. Looking to buy an 2021 iPad Pro 12.9
Do you have any options on a bag to carry just the ipad with its accessories??
How’s your center stage camera quality? can you see the vibrant moving grains within center stage?
What mic are you using? It sounds great, voice crisp and out front.
Your shirts be fire where do you get them from
Love the video but gotta know where you got the Lock Screen wallpaper from the thumbnail.
Logitech has a very nice keyboard case for much cheaper as well
Sounds like you've decided to stay with the 12.5". I want the screen but can't imagine sitting on the couch with that monster much less playing a game without the controller. Hope you'll do a video proving me wrong before I buy next month.
Dude, I love your channel. I am also a huge Apple Fan Boy. I just bought the 11" M1 iPad Pro today and these videos are a great help in finding kick butt accessories. Keep up the good work.
Please make next video on m1 imac base model 1 fan vs m1 imac 2 fans
You always say if I can figure it out you can figure it out lol not true sir you have an amazing channel keep up the good work!
Is it necessary to get a mouse for the iPad? Does it make the user experience better?
I agree apple has the best keyboards as I love my Mac air. But for my iPad Air 4 I went with Logitech and I like it. I do agree with that statement. I feel my I paid is more protected on the Logitech as it has the edging all the way around. As for a lap on keyboard not good. My legs to short and I cant type with it.
All those accessories…
And me waiting for her iPad Pro finally be sent by apple and only bought a Bluetooth keyboard with light, apple pencil, tempered glass protector and case hahaha for using for notes, reading colourful books or drawing.
I shall try games, maybe I might it them, and the. A controller could be nice (but my gamer side died so much at university).
The accessory for ports would be useful, but for some reason I still prefer my laptop for working, I don’t know but I don’t feel iPad as replacement for laptop no matter how good it’s processor or ram is; I might just prefer the robust a computer offers while an iPad is more for entertainment and some creative work (for me).
Then again my iPad is an iPad 2 mini, so this is a great improvement (I glad I didn’t buy the air or pro in 2020 I would be super upset only for the processor; the screen is secondary to me because I use glasses and are kinda blind hahaha).
I am actually pretty excited for this device, hope they sent it soon. I am becoming impatient.
I went to the link of the iPad dongle that you posted, and it says that it’s for iPads 2018-2020, so does it work with the iPad 2021 11”? Thanks
Hey I love binging your videos! Thanks for creating such good content 🙌 Do you think an iPad Pro can replace a MacBook as an editing computer? :)
looking forward to glass screen protector
you should totally try the Logitech Z207 speakers, and the Keychron K2 or Keychron K4 keyboards!
I support this for the Keychrone K2. I use it for my Mac, a little too large for travelling I think. But it's a very nice keyboard if you like tactile (not linear) mechanical keyboards.
Which glass screen protector do you like?
Wait, the SN30 Pro+ can be used on the iPad?? I have two of them, and the new M1 iPad Pro but I keep desyncing my DualShock controller from my PS4 to play games on the iPad xD
After this 7:27 I would have loved a paperlike shout out
I do agree on the pencil after five cheap from two disk version one also has a mess tip one has a pen tip also to two bluetooth one having a special charger big nono to one being type c my latest one nothing compares to apple period finallahelled out the money at christmas and don't regret it at all
Hey Gary - love your channel. Question, as you've used the 11" previously, how do you find the relative weight differential? I.e. how's the 12.9" to hold upright, say on the sofa or in bed to read? Love the idea of the improved screen on the 12.9", but the form factor and weight of the 11" seems like it would be more comfortable for media consumption (as opposed to productivity and "pro" uses)...
Hey, my family has an older 10.5" iPad pro and I have the 12.9". Laying down in bed etc, or holding to read honestly 12.9" is too big. I wouldn't have got it if I didn't want more screen real estate for making notes. But even for that, if I could choose again I think I would go for the smaller 11" because the enhanced portability is more advantageous than a slightly larger screen.
@@Aligatorxx3 Many thanks for that insight! Echoes what I had thought would be the case - I alas still only use it primarily as a consumption device, and just didn't want to give up on that screen that everyone is raving about. Maybe that's a future upgrade, ;-).
@@duncanfilshie2650 Yeah, tbh you will only see noticeable difference when viewing HDR content on the new 12.9 display, which is few and far in-between. Not to mention this model is thicker than the 2020 version. Regardless if anyone would be considering the M1 12.9 they should test it out in person before taking the leap
@@Aligatorxx3 Yeah, we're sadly still in lockdown where I live, so the ol' Apple Store is pick-up only. You've been a great help though - 11" it is! Thanks again.
@@duncanfilshie2650 Ah yeah sorry, no problem!
Does the iPad stand work for the 11inc pro?
Great video! Found it very useful! Just to clarify on the 8bitdo name: it's pronounced "doo" like Scooby Doo, not like NintenDO
Love Apple keyboard. Apple is the best hands down. Nice clicking noise :-)
You actually pronounced Lacie correctly! Amazing. It’s rare…you must have worked in a studio.
can someone suggest to me a good glass screen protector for my new Ipad?
Hi I just got a ipad pro 12.9 2021 and wanted to know what docking station do you recommend this will be my main computer and using for school and work.
I was looking at caldigit but would like your opinion?
Do you know if the Plugable USB-C Triple HDMI Display Horizontal Docking Station works for an Ipad Air 4? See the video "Add Three Extra Monitors to an Apple M1 Mac" it looks like it does. Please do a review. Great videos, love the Atari tee.
I would love to get an iPad Pro but it’s just the software. I’m using a Mac mini from 2013 so I want to upgrade so I’ll wait till wwdc to see what their doing with app compatibility on the iPad if not then it’s a m1 MacBook Pro
