I got the MagFlott after seeing your original video on it. Still using it. And yeah, I kept wanting it VESA mounted. I guess I'm gonna be getting the VESA version. The original MagFlott is fine for me as it is, but the more I use it the more its footprint bothers me.
Totally unrelated to the purpose of the video, I noticed in this one, and ones previously, Obsidian is on your home screen / dock. As someone who uses both and struggles to use them together, I'd love to see how you're using them in your workflow. That said, great channel and content.
I am eyeing that vesa mount very closely. I use iPad Pro everyday. And that would help my ergonomic posture and neck even more. And would save me money from shelling for that Studio Display.
It's an absolute shame that they didn't add pogo pins to allow the iPad to charge through the smart connector.
That would require a ton of engineering an circuitry. Also it would charge incredibly slowly if it was possible and could mess with the ability to use it as an external monitor. Thats really a product Apple needs to make and they need to open up the spec of the smart connector so other companies can do it as well.
@@ChrisLawley This is incorrect. The Pitaka stand charges iPad Pro faster than Apple charging.

Do any cases work with the stand? I want to be able to keep a protective case on my ipad while still being able to attach to the stand without removing.

Awesome video. Quick question for you. Could I repurpose the magnetic part from my original Magflott stand and attach the VESA mount? Is that an option? I'd much prefer that as the original stand didnt really fit into my setup like I had theorised but the VESA mount definitely would!
No, cause it doesn’t have the VESA mounting bracket or screw holes.
You probably could with enough effort. My quick hack for this was just to buy an iPad case, cut off the screen protection part, measure out the VESA holes and epoxy on an M5 nut where each of the VESA mount holes would be.
Pro tip, a U shaped USB C adapter allows for a really clean look for charging.

Chris, does these new ipad stands fit in any ipad size ? Or , is it only ipad 12.9 inch ?
I watched the full video but couldnt get the information. Even the website mentioned in the description dosent provide any details if these are for all size ipads.
There will be two different sizes. One for the 12.9 and one for the 11/air. I believe there will be a survey go out after the kickstarter is over asking which you want.

Technically yes, but it’s tall and would take up a lot of space in your bag.
