I just did this with my seats and I found it to be very easy to pull the felt covers of the seats aside and just put my hand under the plastic shell, then pull upward. Mine did not need much force at all. I don't know if it differs but mine is a 2018. Good luck!
What timestamp in your video shows the removal of the plastic housing over the first bolt you remove? My 2018 has a hard plastic housing over that bolt. It doesn’t just pop off. Thanks.
@@lisaevansmusic Lisa, mine is a 2016 Soul so I don't know how the 2018 models are designed. On mine there is a hard plastic cover between the 2 vertical seat cushions that you have to just pull out to access the screws. At first I thought it was secured in some fashion but I just pulled really hard and it came out. There was no fastener to keep the plastic cover in place...just some tabs at the bottom. Helps a bit if you squeeze from the sides. They weren't damaged at all by pulling on it and went back on without any fuss and stayed secure after I replaced the cover. Hope this helps!

I'm assuming no, as the seats seem to be connected at the sitting area..but maybe, if you (or someone else) sees my question, someone could give me a more definite answer? Greetings from Germany! :)
