Thanks for the help, I just bought a kia Soul from the marketplace, and it needs some serious cleaning, so it is my special weekend project car. Always something new to work on 😅
Stuff potatoes between the upper and lower cushions, placed one on each side of the bolt's position, and it spreads the view so that the bolts can be easily seen. A minimum 5-inch extension is needed to avoid damage to the cushions. When finished, you can have baked potatoes as a celebration.
So that's how it's done. I'm actually turning my 2013 Kia Soul into a mini rv sort of. I already figured how to take the front seat out and now I can take out the back. I plan on making the back into a living space and going off the grid here in G-Town Tejas. I am in the process of getting my solar panel for the roof. When i'm done i will have a video. "Living in a soul"
jrillo watt hi, have you done a conversion yet on the Kia Soul? I'm considering converting mine too, but no clue on removing the seats. Any info you have would be appreciated😊
That's a half inch wrench socket. Must be close enough to the metric size to work (about 13mm). Half a millimeter would be only slightly thicker than a human hair. In the case of a 2016 Kia Soul EV+ (electric car),* which is what I have, it's pretty much required to take the seat out to properly install seat covers in the rear because the battery protrudes into the cabin under seats and there is no room under them to run the straps. It might be possible but I haven't found a way to do it without removing them. *If anyone has this same car, be sure you get seat covers that are compatible with both airbags (there are some in the seat sides in the front) and with the heating (front and rear) and cooling (front seats).
Thanks for posting this, pointing out that one bolt is gonna save a ton of time. So I'm guessing you just pulled up the front. I'm trying to see if I can remove the backrests also, did you need to do that also, I realize you're just putting on seat covers but I'd like to remove the whole thing.
I'm just thinking of removing it to fit a bunch of stuff I want to put in my car and the backrests "down" isn't flat - hmm I'm going to try to remove the seat now and see if the backrests go flatter to fit more stuff :) thanks Carlos.
Thanks! I realize the felt cover is part of the back trunk so I may not want to remove the seat backs at this point, I just want it to be flatter and it's easy with just one screw to put the seat back in. Thanks again!
Ty, I put on my last seat cover without removing it and the stupid thing won't stay well! Miss should make it easier for me to take out the seat so I can put the cover on and it stay on. Thank you for making the video and spending all the time so I don't have to. 👍
It’s 14mm. You might have stuffed that HALF INCH SOCKET on I’ll try it, No WAY! A 9/16 Is a sloppy fit but would work if it wasn’t too tight. I really don’t know what people are thanking you for you tell them to use the WRONG wrench to use on a bolt that you can see what about the other two that I can’t get at?
Well done for trying you helped me and for being impatient, this is how we learn sometimes, you at least found the little guys😂👍

It’s a 15/32 SAE (not metric) and thanks for posting this; it worked perfect! 5 minutes out (to vacuum broken glass) and back in. Gotta love RUclips!
Appreciate it, bro this isn't no joke there aren't enough videos appreciate it
al scott.... hey my pleasure!!! I’ve changed cars all over this time but I’m glad it helped to get it done yourself. Check out my drum videos 🤣
THANK YOU! People are coming to YOU! That means they're TRYING to figure out what you've already done on your own! Thank you again for the video.
Excellent information Carlos thank you very much. You made putting my rear seat cover in so much easier.
My 2012 needed a flat blade pry tool to reach under the front of the back seat to push a button that released the pins holding it down
Where?

Me too! 2015 We should make a club for kia soul mini rvs.
Yo, any of u guys into this still????
Yes
Thank you, Carlos! This was very helpful. I didn't have a socket wrench, so I used a standard adjustable wrench - worked just fine.
Richard Hinkelman I’m glad it did ;)
OMG thank you!!!!! 🎉
Welcome!!😊

I have the same car, thank you :) wanted to vacuum under there :)
How do I get the back support seat out threw the trunk

No need to remove the backrest to be honest. If you need to do that, of course, it'll be another procedure which I may find out soon.

MoniMe it should do it!!! I remember I did flat the whole surface and looked good to me but again every procedure is different. Good luck :)

hope it helped!!!!!
Thank you very much... Its funny that the nut is visible yet hard to spot.
You’re not stupid man kia designed these cars to be extra pain in the ass
I replaced my battery not long ago... jesus fucking christ.. all i have to say
thanks man
Lol, it's half inch, considering it's a Korean car a 15 metric could have been more appropriate.. Kudos for doing it yourself.
You mean at 12 metric 15 would be closer to a 11/16 or a 5/8

Vertical video is a bad idea. Please turn your phone sideways.
This guy💀🤦🏾♂️
Normally I would agree, but it's fine for just a three minute video and it gets to the point.
you're welcome.!
Thanks
Thanks G
A 12mm worked perfectly.
thanks!
1 and a half mm??? Bro? Wtf?
Get to the point
Too much talking
Lincolnator my apologies 😅
How about you make your own video and upload it. Some people 🙄
