Another great video thanks, I am now trying to work out how to mix 2 throttle channels for turning but keep both motors running to make it look more scale.
Another outstanding instructional video. Thank you so much for this very useful information. I recently purchased a Radiomaster TX16S and am enjoying learning how to take full advantage of it's capabilities. I'll have to check out your EdgeTX videos.
Snippet? A nice understatement :-) For me it's like a whole bunch of outstanding and very valuable knowledge around the TX16S. 👍 Thank you so much and many greetings from Germany.
Great video, the mockup plane made the tutorial extremely didactic. My mixes have just a little refinement: instead of using the standard diff curve I create customized curves and use them to fine tune how I want the mixes to behave depending on the input. For an instance, in KE (knife edge) mixes I can adjust the aileron or elevator correction depending on the amount of rudder used (little correction close to the center and more with extreme throws). Airplane behavior is almost never linear so this can help fine tune your mixes for a perfectly straight flight. This is obviously not needed for most flyers but can help when using extreme throws with those not so well designed (or constructed) planes.
Again - very informative video with great quality. Although, today I just discovered how to control my mix weight (elevator and flaps) with another slider/knob. That might be helpful to setup a mix value in the air without landing all over again. That is trickier since flaps work on different PWM range than rudder but very similar to your 1st mix shown in this video. In the mixer tab, just add curve that it should follow (same as on input curve for flap mix) and then on flaps off (-100 pwm) there is 0 elevator added and on flaps deployed (+100 PWM) there is given value of elevator set by your slider/knob.
There are lots of ways to make curves, weights, and expo work as you're discovering. I showed how to use sliders for weight and expo here ruclips.net/video/Qq7eRk4N-pY/видео.html and I go into built-in curves vs custom curves here: ruclips.net/video/cJuvl3mHxt8/видео.html Finally there is a detailed curve specific video here ruclips.net/video/d9PciJhjDi8/видео.html Have fun with OpenTX. Lots of ways to do things on this platform.
Hey, love the videos, really helping me to get the hang of my new TX16s MkII. Have you done a vid/snippet on setting up flaperons? So far not managed to find anything.
When you do the elevator /throttle mix could you do it on a curve? I've got one of those dancing wing eagles. I got a ton of nose up once I cross the 50% throttle (1/2 stick movement). Doesn't seem linear, seems like I need a lot more elevator as throttle goes up. CG seems spot on as I can glide in manual mode with minor adjustments for wind. Theoretically these type of planes need to 2 to 3% off right and down motor offset. I really didn't see that much difference between zero offset and 3% offset (used a 3d printer part to create the offset).
I want to setup a mix for flaperons but when active i want ailerons disabled and elevons activated is this possible and if so could you do a video on this i have been trying to figure this out for months please help lol great content man I have learned alot from your channel thank you so much
I haven't added the 3D version to the Etsy store, but I suppose I could. Give me a little time and I'll put something together. Keep an eye on the store.
hi dear , i learnt lot from your video , i have 2 question , no 1 , how we use T5 or T6 , to set as timer reset switch ? 2nd question is : i am assigned these switches in GLOBLE FUNCTION , SA , SB SC SD SG , SE AND SH , can we use these switches , for other setting also , like you are using , for example , throttle elevtor , switch SH , and i assigned this SH SWITCH FOR SD LOG AND TOUCH ? DISPITE we are alredy install these switches on global function , no conflict , using in globle function and in mix ? my english is not good , i hope you get my point ===========================================
Thank you for your videos on tx16s, have helped me alot on mixes but am having trouble getting a mix from throttle to smoke pump with esc. If say on channel 9 do I just do throttle in mix? Just cant seem to get it to activate at say 50 percent and gradually increase from there. Thank you
Sounds like you need a curve to me. Discord would be much more appropriate to get help. Please join and ask there. Link is in description of every video I post: discord.gg/jSFTASU
I'm new in Edgetx world. I commonly use Spektrum and futaba sustem. About Edgetx scrips. Can use more than one? Or what is the best for fixed wings, helicopters and multirotors?
Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean about using EdgeTX scripts and using more than one. You'll need to be more specific. What I can tell you is the radio ships with a number of LUA scripts arranged in the tools folder so you can access them from the tools menu under the system button. I don't believe you can have more than one lua script running at one time but the developers may disagree with that especially when it comes to things like widgets.
Can you explain or do you have an example of working the Throttle reversing. I am running the latest version of EdgeTX. I am thinking about getting a Eflight Viper that normally advertise the optional reverse thruster/throttle. Can this be constructed on Radiomaster tx16s?
How can I do aileron n elevator mix as I don't have rudder on my su27 I have same tx but I had this mix on my dx7s but I'm stuffed how to mix this as its very helpful for my flying as my Co ordination from brain to fingers not good lol any help appreciated
how can i set up my extra 300 bnf on edge tx 16s so i can set the aileron as flaps to do harrier? do i need to reset the ar631 receiver or is there a special function i can use
In my Boxer radio, I am trying to create a mix for a dual servo configuration,(one servo on each aileron), using channel 5 (which controls the two-position switch (SA)) and the aileron channel 1. After mixing it with the aileron channel to control both ailerons with the same stick, the aileron is behaving as if it were moved by a binary switch (example +100 and -100) on channel 5 only, while channel 1 works normally. Although both show continuous movement from -100 to +100 on the channel monitor, the aileron doesn't act like this in real life, but in a binary way. Why might this be happening? Can you help me with that?
I made it. There's a 3D version in my discord, and a laser cut version on my Etsy Store: www.etsy.com/listing/1497781792/rcvideoreviews-radio-control-setup-model
I am having trouble finding a vid on how to use an aileron in each side of the wing and assigning it to a separate channel . can you point me in the right direction
On the INPUTS page create an input called AIL, use the AIL stick as the source. On the MIXER page - add a line on ChX (where x is the receiver channel you want for Aileron 1) use the Aileron INPUT you created as the source. - add a second line on ChY (where y is the receiver channel you want for Aileron 2) use the aileron INPUT you created as the source.
In the mixer add four lines: 1, 2, 3, 4. Lines 1 and 2 use Aileron for input. Lines 3 and 4 use Elevator for input. Use the output screen as necessary to reverse servos. On your RX, connect Ailerons to Ch 1 and 2, connect Elevators to Ch 3 and 4.

Wow, thank you!
Thank you, John, learned something news again!
Glad to help.
Congrats! Best explanation of the trim functions that I've seen.
Wow, thanks!
Very good snippet for new flyers. Keep up the good work John.
Thanks Bill.
Great demo model display 👌! Thanks for the great video.
No problem 👍

I've done a number of curve based mixes as well. People like to see them both ways. I prefer curves for granularity.

Thank you, and thank you for hitting the tip jar.
Wow John This was good video. Solve some of my problems. Thanks
Awesome! Glad to hear these snippets help you guys get things done with your radios.

How do i add air brakes i have a f35 i need air brakes and elivater on a switch the radio is a tx16s mk2
how can i set up my extra 300 bnf on edge tx 16s so i can set the aileron as flaps to do harrier? do i need to reset the ar631 receiver or is there a special function i can use
There's no function to do full span ailerons. You'd have to create a mix. I cover it in this video: ruclips.net/video/NBmz7mI6YgM/видео.html

On the INPUTS page create an input called AIL, use the AIL stick as the source.
On the MIXER page
- add a line on ChX (where x is the receiver channel you want for Aileron 1) use the Aileron INPUT you created as the source.
- add a second line on ChY (where y is the receiver channel you want for Aileron 2) use the aileron INPUT you created as the source.
@@RCVideoReviews ok, thank you .
how you create new airplane with edgetx, if the airplane have (2) ailerons ( 2 differents channels) and (2) elevator (2 differents channels)
@@RCVideoReviews IN CHANNEL #3 IS ALREADY USED (THROTTLE CHANNEL)
The use 5 or 7. Or move the throttle.
