When you were thinking about Fire/Ice the line I liked was waiting for upkeep pay echo and then casting Fire on Hermit and Llanowar Elf. If they don't pay you can still kill the other Elf instead.

plus he had the mana to cast fire and ice. you can do both for 4 mana right? no reason not to. could have tapped an elf on upkeep too
